A Day In Miyazaki: Takachiho, Udo Shrine & Aoshima Island | Japan Travel

- I spent a day exploring all the best that Miyazaki Prefecture has to offer. Some of the best sights to see our Takachiho Gorge, Udo Shrine, and Aoshima Island. Take a relaxing boat ride and become wonderstruck but the beauty of the gorge at Takachiho. At Udo Shrine, watch the rough waves strike the cliffside and test your luck by throwing clay balls into the sea. And lastly, finish your day at Aoshima island to soak up the last of the sun and watch the sunset.

Japan is all about the shrines.. needless to say Japan is a beautiful place that I hope one day to visit.
I've seen so many shrines in Japan. You do get sick of them after a while so It's nice to see something different like these.
This shrine does seem pretty cool! Interesting story about the dragon lady!
I love learning about old Japanese folktales. They are always a little strange and crazy. It makes traveling to places like this a little more interesting

There are so many stunning places in Japan that the casual tourist misses out on. I could not recommend exploring countryside of Japan enough

Would you recommend driving or could the shinkasen and local train get you there
I think it would much easier to get to many of these destinations via car (and maybe even cheaper). While It is possible to take public transport to some places, for most places it is quite bothersome to travel by train or bus. For example, the shrine is way out of the way and near a cliffside, so that is only accessible by car.
Hello im new to your channel where did you stay in miyazaki to explore all of this gorgeous places ? Do you have any recommendations? I’m planning to travel in miyazaki and im from nagoya 😅
I wish I could be more helpful in regards to accommodation recommendations but I didn't stay at any hotels. I did what I call "car hotel". I rented a car in the city and slept in it at night. Japan has many really nice rest stops to park at over night and hundreds of local onsens to bath in when I needed a shower. I often use this method when traveling around Japan to save money but it's also a great way to social distance, too.
