Well brother Dave I’m glad to your getting out on that BMW. Went out for gas for my scooter today and it was such a nice day today, well it took me 20 miles to get home was nice to feeling some air in my face. As far as specialty tools, they are needed. So you buy them or make them if you can, I have so many specialty tools in my tool chest and still make the ones I need. Good to see you again!

Dude, Ya, I have the motorcycle up on its center stand on a board under it to get the rear tire off the floor, I adjusted the Vaves (Tore one of the valve cover gaskets) So,, that is going to be a delay, But,, you need the rear tire off the floor so you and turn the engine over while it is in high gear and the spark plugs out, you have to be on compression TDC and that is shown in a window on the crankcase to adjust the valves, one side, then turning the engine over for the other side. the baby was tight and needed it, These BMW Airheads, the valve train will tighten up the more miles you put on it, it is a maintenance thing you need to do every so often, the sound of them gets louder and that is the tell-tell sign that it is time. I adjusted the rocker arms supports as well, they were getting where they needed to be tightened up to reduce noise. these bikes will run forever as long as you do the maintenance adjustments and change the fluids. they really are hearty machines built to last. Peace out Brother- Dave

Yep, and as home mechanics, they will do what we want, Now... if I was running a shop making a living off of my work and reputation, Ya, I would go for something that is balanced to and for the professional as my business bought it, not me. -Dave

There's lots to learn about torque wrenches, it was interesting, I used to use them all the time on aircraft, when I did that work. Most common was the inch/lb. for use on engines, but we did on occasion use large hydraulic setups that would produce 2500 ft./lbs. for prop installations. I actually have a torque wrench tester which was mounted on the wall in a truck shop. Measures up to about 300 or 400 ft./lbs. Cool to look at but I never use it. Thumbs up!

I have been to classes on torque wrenches, it was an annual requirement when I worked ordnance to keep certifyed in explosives. They were very intensive about proper torque practices and procedures. Thanks for watching and your comment.-Dave

It's all good dude. it was just an opinion of mine and some food for thought when selecting a torque wrench for your garage.

modern cilinderheads are pulled with degrees lets say start with 1.5 kgm then 90 degrees and another 45 for , not pounds depends on the brand car because stretch nuts are used ,, they hold there spring tension and can be used only one time ,
