- Oversampling and aliasing are definitely part of the digital music production process even though they have a small impact.. in this video I am giving a quick intro to this topics and break it down in just 2.5 minutes. At the end of the day you don't have to dive super deep into this topic but it's still useful to have a ruff idea about the reasons behind using oversampling. Dont worry if you have to watch the video more than one time. there is a lot of info in there ;) There are other small upsides to oversampling which you should totally research if you want to learn more about digital audio.

I truly appreciate that you didn't make the video longer than it should have been, while also explaining that it really isn't much to worry about! Thank you! God bless!
The best, best simplified easy to understand video on this subject and with practical advise! 👏🏾
literally the best video about this
Thanks, that was clear and the end was nice to hear it's not life or death unless you're really trying to specialise as an engineer.
Thank You for the simple, straightforward Video!
Today it finally clicked why aliasing would happen when processing adds harmonics beyond the sample rate. So basically some of the higher harmonic points would still be sampled, but not all of them. And thus the waveform would jump between some of those extra noise points. So that is basically causing waveform noise because only some of the higher frequency points are recorded in the file.
This is great! Thanks for the excellent explanation! Your videos are fantastic!
Thanks will! That's very nice to hear :)
Wow very cool! Cheers for that!
Nice to know!! Thank you:)
What is 4k oversampled 6k in video?
👍👍
*So the recommendation is to use oversampling and then at the end of that channel of audio apply a butterworth style lowpass to filter out anything above 22khz?
