I remember getting killed by so many mages and getting pissed. Then one day I rolled a mage and still died. It was on that day I realized I was just shitty.
Chimpz Just roll night elf hunter and aimed shot them from shadowmeld. I sniped so many cheap, easy kills on clothies at the time. Especially in Alterac Valley.
uhm. PvP nowadays takes some skill and not just about burning a cd and oneshotting poeple. Also... why watching it when you can do it? And healing is not infinite. Interruption is a thing and you know many mchanics as well.
Chris Prox You have no idea what you are talking about. don't even look at the graphics? Well you are a shit pvper. INB4 you comment about your high rating and that you actuall was the best.
I remember once back in '06. An OP frost mage had me dead to rights in WSG. I watched him activate his trinkets(I think the ones from BWL or ZG), all the other self impowering spells and right before he blasted me, I humbly activated my engineer frost deflect trinket. That mage 1 shot himself and it was the most epic thing I've ever seen in WoW still to this day. Damn 11years has went by too fast!
The fact that this actually happened is so beautiful. This video really brought me back in such a strange way to those old school vanilla PvP video days. Its so surreal that this was made in 2015, the nostalgic music, the editing, its all so amazing. Its as if I've entered a time machine...if only for a moment. Holy shit, take me back.
I'm glad you liked it. I recorded all the clips with the intention of making a video back in the day, so I would have been influenced by other people's vanilla videos. I just was really, really slow at finishing mine, I guess. Also, if I'm being honest, there are some reasons for the delay apart from mere laziness. I probably was worried that someone might use some of the play in this video to make fun of me. Considering how much ganking I did, I always had target on my back. My guild also was ultra-competitive. Years later, when nobody cares about whether Doomhandle is a good mage or not, the clips can just be appreciated for what they are: a snapshot of the game as it used to be.
I see, well in a way it worked out for the best. I honestly think your video presented in this way created way more of an impact than being just another vanilla pvp video in a sea of them, although, who knows, perhaps if you made a lot of vids you could have been a Swifty-like name today. You have some skill with videos man, consider making more!
Enjoyed the video very much. Wish gaming pendulum swings back to this type of play style. Time = reward = power... Rare items that are actually rare. Noobs are noobs until they find a mentor or figure shit out themselves instead of sniveling and complaining all day. Good patches with good content. Pay to play not pay to win...
You people pretending to want something like vanilla wow while actually getting vanilla wow through Elysium are so fucking impossible to please... jesus christ
It's actually quite a concern that young people are able to get their hands on something this addictive. In terms of consecutive hours spent looking at the screen, it's way more enslaving than, say, pornography although the latter has its own problems. I spent most of my free time in 2007 playing the game although I was able to hold down a steady job relatively successfully and eventually moved to London to live with friends, at which point I stopped playing and took up running instead. I've revisited Azeroth several times since, including recently although nothing really beats the experience of vanilla back in my early 20s.
I think the reason the nostalgia and sadness hits so hard is because WoW popped all of our MMORPG or RPG in general cherries, and nothing could ever be the same. It wasn't Blizzard ruining the game or dumbing it down, it was growing up and losing the early fascination and fixation we had with the game. I can't tell you how many times I've walked into video game stores and picked up an old copy of WoW, with a bit of sadness, and remembered amazing times with friends but I've come to the realization that won't happen again. I've even purchased console games in an attempt to feel that exciting new rush I got when WoW first came out but to no avail.
I agree with a lot of that. I don't think it's really possible to recapture the magic of Vanilla--you had huge numbers of inexperienced players all logging into the same game world and figuring it out together. It was a particularly special mmo experience. But at the same time, I think there's grounds to complain that the mmo genre has seriously declined. WoW no longer seems to be about playing a part in a thriving virtual world populated by other players. Instead, it seems more like a 3D game lobby or multiplayer interface that exists simply to allow you to select activities or game types of your choice. Maybe that's what most people want out of games, and that's perfectly fine, at least for them. But if someone is looking for a traditional mmo experience--if they want to be part of a community, explore a world with unexpected dangers, struggle to get ahead, etc.--I'm not sure that WoW or anything else (at least, not anything that's popular, fresh, and reliable) really offers it. Even if the traditional mmo genre could never reach the same heights, I think it's still viable--and that it's kind of a shame that it seems to be dead.
Ye..mmo world was just different I started with city of heroes (well anarchy online, but, that was different)>wow after, and entering stormwind my first time was like ''wow''. Now its like ''WHERE I MAKE GOLD, AND WHAT GEAR TO BUY/PVP'' #everymmo
Agreed. WoW was not my first MMO technically, but it was my first of its kind. Leveling up a character, exploring the unknown, it was a new concept. Nowadays, I've gone through several other MMOs, but my reaction in all of them is always to figure out how to optimize and progress. I don't even do it deliberately, it just happens; I can't explore a random corner of the world to see what -might- be there because knowing how MMOs work has taught me whether something will be there or not without needing to explore. A quest in the middle of nowhere isn't a reward for my independent exploration, it's just EXP to add to the counter. I could never play Vanilla WoW again; one too many Rogues, thank you. But man, figuring out all the cool crap everyone could do - I picked my initial class and race based on the description box; nowadays, I Wiki everything so I know what I'm getting into before I start, and I feel bad if I don't because I'm afraid I won't be playing optimally, or I might have to do a paid race change later.
Haha, any hard feelings? I definitely did some psychological stuff to make sure that my character got stuck in people's minds. People don't remember an isolated gank -- but if they get ganked three times with a /spit each time, they think "what is this guy's problem" and then talk about it with others.
I still remember a guy's character name from vallina for that very reason. MadHatter was a rogue that would gank people in SW. Was a great time. He was the fun kind of guy though you didn't mind dying to him. He let me get my trinket in STV arena on my level 19 rogue. Cool dude, will always remember him.
No but really, great video. I'm glad you decided to look through an old hard drive and upload this footage. I think your story follows the same path as many other people who started playing WoW during Vanilla; most stopped at the end of WotLK. Lich King kind of felt like a finale to WoW in it's original form.
This filled me with such nostalgia my eyes almost tear up. The memories from old World of Warcraft are breathtaking and the way you pictured the "era" in this video was brilliant. This is a worthy tribute to vanilla WoW. Great job man!
Still better than joining LFR and going AFK through the entire game's content. Casualizing this game for RP is what lost blizzard 3/4 of their player base.
I constantly am reminded of reasons I'm glad I left my Warrior dead in Desolace at level 33 in classic. That charge thing was one of the most fun-deflating things. Find yourself a mob, get ready, get... aggro, walk over to the mob and auto yourself some rage.
The end times was marked with Dishonorable Kills. Imagine how good this game would have been if they stuck to the Vision and didn't turn the whole thing into a casual friendly theme park.
Zenn Exile yeah...it's too kiddy for me...used to take some skill....achievements had to be earned...took forever to even get lv 60 in vanilla...like you felt like a boss at 60.....and legends/epics...etc were rare to see...only the top of the top had them...now legends are basically given out...game went down the drain quickly.
xero spacious it's always been unbalanced, atleast then you could 1v1 any class and you would need skill to win....now it's who can burst who. also pve and pvp back then were much harder and required more skill.
"pve and pvp back then were much harder and required more skill." are u fucking kidding me vanilla was faceroll. Everyone is clicking there abilities and keyboard turning its a fucking joke. Also I would like to see a 40man vanilla group go up against mythic archimonde they would have 0 chance and probably couldn't even do lfr. I admit wow is casual now but saying it takes no skill is just a fucking lie
I don't know if you remember me, I was a horde mage named Icewalker on Mal'Ganis, we had some epic back and forths on the throne of elements back in the BC days.
I erased any failures from my mind. Out of curiosity, were you a troll or ud? And what gender and guild? I'm a confused old man -- might trigger my memory.
Answer him i need to see a reunion between the both of you! q.q wish one of my old friends/enemies would contact me form the old days for a good laugh...
Everyone was making alliance humans because of their racial, leaving the server in quite the disbalance. Now that the racial got nerfed and every race is given a pvp "racial" which doesn't take a trinket slot there is no reason to make a human anymore other than looks.
And PvP rewards will be given to the top alliance and horde players separately. So a lot of people will go horde to get their PvP rewards that they couldn't have gotten when there were so many alliance characters.
Are there any post without you in the comments? Get a life. People have been playing vanilla wow private servers for years and continue to enjoy it, and it's not just a couple of hours of play and then realising that you only came because of the nostalgia and that the game actually sucks. People play for months of /played time.
I miss these days because the entire server knew who I was. You LOOKED geared and you stood out from the casuals. And not just me. All the top players on the server knew each other. Our deeds spread like legends.
If you're a good player now people will know who you are, now people are judged by rating and ranks on warcraftlogs, in Vanilla people were mostly judged by gear.
Vanilla WoW had such a huge amount of flaws and imbalance. I still miss: leveling mattering, attunement for raids, epics being epics, classes being very distinct and unique, having no stupid LFG/LFR which removes any need for social interaction in an MMORPG, classes also having very distinct weaknesses, having to actually explore the world and so on.
Except LFR is irrelevant? The social interaction is still very much necessary. I'm on discord with my guild every night. I started in draenor, and I've NEVER had the feeling that social interaction wasn't a huge part of the game
PattyManatty You can in a sense finish the game without uttering a word to anyone. It's sad. LFR and LFG are terrible things the game would be better without.
swadow Yup. People are lazy and Blizzard gives in to their lazy demands. I admit that the boss fights themselves are so much greater nowadays than back in Vanilla, so much more mechanics and whatnot, it requires so much more skill to down a fight on the highest difficulty. But, the sad part is that it's so easy to get to each fight. No attunements, no special gear requirement such as resistance gear, it's easy to gear up overall, and so on. The game is so easy aside from certain bossfights or end-game PvP.
vasilije94 Casual players are lazy. You're wrong though. Ever since Blizzard started making everything easier (except bossfights) the player base started to decline heavily.
***** I know but back in TBC and Vanilla you could go half arcane and half fire spec, instant pyroblast in PvP it was OP as damn despite the CD's. Still now days i go Fire in all PvP and just use arcane in PvE. I'm addicted to fire.
Why are you commenting everything here then? "Get real"? ;) In fact, I'm not even sure you actually knew and/or played WoW at this time (according to what I see on your channel, no offense). There's nothing wrong. I was to young to play WarCraft, I enjoyed playing WarCraft III without spitting on the previous ones. If Vanilla had arenas, rated battlegrounds and resilience on stuff to avoid oneshots as you said (probably the only problems with PvP by this time), Blizzard would had no reason to release additional extensions, except for PvE. End of story.
Best memory was going to black rock mountain on my priest and mind controlling people into the lava or into an org portal. Also wiped a MC raid on my Mage. As they all came out with no health and I spammed arcane blast.
HAHAHAHA, you just reminded me of the shit mages used to pull ... open portal to X city, call out in raid chat "Click to summon" and half the raid disappears
You can tell it's genuine Vanilla, look at how many people just stand around in the bg's because they really had no idea. Either that or they had internet issues - 10 years ago that was very common.
This is why i joined the vanilla private server community. It was the only way to experience all of that joy again. But finally Blizzard is bringing back the classic servers.
inequality is healthy in a MMORPG. People who invest more time, should get rewarded more than others who invest less. This was a real game, not the nowadays shit
+DrPizka Vanilla was inequal in a way some classes were unplayable while mages could just pop cds and 1-shot and rogues did a lot of damage with ambush.
DrPizka Back in the day, it didn't take a big investment of your time to oneshot people or be one of those guys that can oneshot everyone else. I'd honestly say nowadays the time investment : reward ratio is better than it was in vanila. EDIT: Honestly, the biggest time investment would be leveling the character to 60. In terms of that, you'd obviously be right. Leveling used to be an actual thing rather than something you do in like 4 hours with the right setup.
+Asken Tuga I know, my main was - and still is- a rogue :p but ,as in real life, none is equal to another. So it is normal for some classes to be better than others in some aspects of the game; for example locks were top range dps classes. Also keep in mind that a mage could easily be killed by a geared rogue or warrior in pvp.
You went the same path I went in Vanilla as a mage. Battlegrounds got boring and I became a ganker. I made Red Ridge Mountains my territory on the Haomarush server. People legit complained on forums to kill me. I at some point I got raids of people to kill me. But then I logged off and played on an alt for 20 minutes and then continued later. It was an undead mage called Dradmor. I did this in Red Ridge Mountains everyday for like 4 months.
+B It's something I miss from the days up until Cataclysm (although Vanilla and parts of TBC were the best time), when the zones were full of players doing stuff, leveling up wasn't supercharged, and you could get notoriety just for doing things in game.
+kobbehh It's not really the lowbie kills that matter, it's when those lowbies ask General Chat for help, call their friends, log onto mains, etc. Best of all is when you get angry messages. The guy who was infamous for camping the boat at Menethil Harbor for 4 months used it as a way of farming HKs in the days before BGs.
+Sir Pants Yeah, the notoriety and angry messages were the biggest reward. I took some screenshots when I was a ganker, which it sounds like you might enjoy: imgur.com/gallery/9EklE
kobbehh I was Legionnaire rank. Or Knight Captain if you were Alliance. I am not shy to admit that I was a 15 year old EDGELORD that took great pleasure in ganking people. It was loads of fun and loved to hear the hate.
This is the best video man, i have ever watched thats got to do with WoW man. Thank you so much brother, peace dude. rock n roll and cya on classic bro, laters. =)
This brings me back, I used to listen to that song(&album) by Iron Maiden back when playing Vanilla in 2006! I'm glad you finally got to make your PvP video a decade later, that's what I'm currently doing, sort of. I just started capturing footage from Half Life 2 Deathmatch in the hopes of making a frag video with a hard trance soundtrack, as I have great memories from jamming to hard trance while playing HL2DM all summer long 10 years ago :) I did the same with WoW - quit playing in 2010, then made a shortlived return to a blizzlike vanilla private in 2011 just so I could make a PvP video myself as a way to give farewell to the game. So yeah, your idea hits close to home for me!
I remember as a warrior gwtting wrecked by pyroblast. And I had gran mashall gear. This and rogues were a serious force to be wrecken with. This video is sick dude. Cant wait for classic
Only if they push the "WoW Classic" as version 2.0 because if you play the hunter @ version 1.3 or 1.6, it's not the same... This class was totally rebuild every 3 months :/
I miss vanilla so much.. Back when you got ganked so incredibly hard in Stranglethorn Vale.. The times you wanted to quit, but you didn't. The times you pressed on, got to 60.. Only to get smothered by geared people.. The times which made you strive to gear up, do long dungeon runs with a crappy team, eventually if lucky get into a raid guild or a good PUG.. Eventually get really good gear... And realize just how fun it is with wpvp.. When you slowly started to understand the ones who once ganked you so badly.. And at the end of the day, REVENGE NEVER FELT SO FCKING GOOD LIKE IN VANILLA.
TTF The Moffa True. Altho, most of the raiding guilds at that time haven't even cleared Ahn'Quiraji and didn't even start clearing Naxxramas. What's the point in released such content and then making it obsolete almost right away?...
POM PYRO, the ultimate wetness for the young boy I used to be when I first played this game. That and the arms warrior with multiple sword procs. The game will never be as good as it was. RIP WoW
the feels dude :'( i remember having being 3-4 years old and watching my father pvping in alterac valley for hours with his night elf druid which he achieved the Pvp title: Commander back then and he still has it to this day....the feels man
You really nailed what the videos of the time were like. Between the music, the editing, and of course the compilation of you winning almost every single fight... it's like it's 2005 again.
Sure, vanilla WoW was horribly imbalanced, but I have never been able to enjoy PvP the same way again. Today they try so hard to make everyone equal, and as a result, nothing feels special anymore. Sure, going into a battleground as a freshly dinged level 60 was like getting fucked in the ass without lube, but if you put in the time and effort to actually get some decent gear, it was so much fun running around soloing small groups of 3-4 people at once.
"Soloing small group of 3-4" you know, pvp isnt same as pve mate. Your wish to be the most powerful pvper does not determine what real pvp should be. And it shouldnt be about gear you get, it should be about mastering the class you play, and learning how to predict your opponent. But I guess your brain lacks the brain cells to learn that, so youd rather stick with instakilling 2-3 people.
BRO'VERLORD Um no, that is not me, and I almost never write in /bg, tho id like to hear how you came up with that, instead of some actual argument regarding my comment.
I'm so happy I stopped playing before they removed spell school specific gear. I got all the +fire damage stuff I could find in order to specialize as much as possible. Everyone else went for their tier 2 bullshit so they could look exactly the same as everyone else.
It was a time of the haves and have nots, and people don't want to experience that in a game, its much too close to real life, the huge disparity between the have and the have nots
+Kiinn So tell me why is PvP dead right now? When most classes have an insane amount of cc, defensives and burst? When everyone is put at the same level? When the game is more balanced than it was during WotLK? WoW is an RPG not a MOBA or anything else designed to be exclusively competitive. What made WoW PvP great was the RPG aspect, and you can tell that because everyone stopped playing after they removed it. A game like WoW will never have a balanced nor fun PvP if they try to turn it into what you're defining because it wasn't designed for that. Too many compositions, too many spells, too much counter, too many passives... And all of that based on a random matchmaking (you don't know if you're going to face a mage, a dk or a warlock, and that can determine the whole match if you've ever reached high cr). Why would they do that then? Well, because eSports make a lot of money.
I miss when classes could use all the abilities regardless of spec. Made the classes seem more complex and fun, also miss mage armor, frost armor, and all the other little things that made the mage unique.
yeah... playing warrior was fun. forced to tank. had to spam sunder armor since it was the best attack to generate threat. fucking hillarious and complex. xD
Damn son. I just randomly had this recommended to me and it brought back a flood of memories. You and BadRasta changed my mages life course for the better. Thank you.
Ah I remember those days. I was a bit less geared, but there were still times where I could pull off 1v5s+. The gear inequality was insane, but so was the skill difference. The skill level of everyone from the super casual to the elite has increased by unbelievable proportions over the years
riplip at least in cata, you need more than good gear to be good at pvp. This guy's video, with all the lacking of binds and backpedaling, is a proof of how unbalanced pvp was in vanilla, pure joke.
Why vanilla WoW was the best: 1. You had to walk to your class trainer every other level to pay for spells 2. Talents could be mixed and matched, not generically chosen for you per each of the 3 trees 3. Gold was MUCH MUCH MUCH harder to grind. And regular mount at level 40 and epic at 60 took months to save gold for. 4. No flying mounts or inter realm raid Q's means everyone on realm had to be more social in finding groups and youd forcibly make friends along your leveling range. 5. Things were harder to do, elite quests meant teaming with random guys in the area by doing /join general and asking if anyone was on that elite quest 6. World PvP was incredible , sucked getting ganked a lot tho in Stranglethorn vale or Crossroads lol 7. I feel like WoW attracted more mature minds back in vanilla time .. Now it feels like it's mostly teen boys running around , which is probably why blizzard dumbed down the game so bad.. I mean come on, I saw a level 2 on a mount today 8. Class quest chains were fun as hell 9. Plaguelands quest chain.. enough said 10. People! It felt like there was 5 to 10 people around you at any given time , ex. Undead starting quest area to brill and silver pine forest... today after coming back from 7 years off. I made a new guy on the most populated servers illadan , area 52 , Tichond.. it's like a ghost town. 11. Imbalance of classes powers made people better pvpers. Say the mage and lock were the most powerful on general, it made other classes better every defeat they felt under the hands of those casters . Sort of like, lifting the heaviest weights you can will make your muscles get bigger automatically 12. Walking everywhere! Such a brave new magical world to explore... from the tombs of Deathknell, to the shores of Stranglethorn vale, to the forests of Zul gurub.. early WoW was magical for the sole purpose that we all felt that magic entering strange new lands 13. People in general seemed much more social back then. Not everything was about hitting cap level and raiding nonstop. Back then I made the best of friends with so many cool chicks and dudes. Probably half a decade it went on till I quit Things will never be the same as I doubt blizzard would ever consider going back to vanilla days , but I'm glad I starting playing and soaked the legendary game that was vanilla WoW & TBC.
The All Seeing Thigh in reality it was just lame, big time wasting and undeveloped The nostalgia may be strong, but the game mostly got better and more fun to play imo
Right?! Vanilla wow was ridiculous, spent so much time doing gearing for raiding and such, and it took forever. And jesus gold saving for a mount. The raids and such were a lot more involved but good luck getting everyone together. Oh yeah and dont forget ur guild interview and applications with references
I agree. The feeling of accomplishment was so much better then. I quit before Cataclysm and just started playing again and everything is so easy now. Leveling flies by, exploration is nonexistent. I can understand newer players not being affected by these things because they never experienced that WoW, but it was something special for sure. I first played WoW on dial-up. Like...
OMG OMG I played on this server too! I was Mortelo an undead mage, I'm recognizing a ton of the players in the clips and freaking out. Sarkasmos and Steyr at 6:00 were in my guild . I'm pretty sure I remember hating you at one point, you were very well respected even from horde side :) I remember Gatekeeper and Tugget wrecking WSG in the early days too on alliance.
That name definitely sounds familiar. I think you may be in some of the footage I cut from this video, but I'm travelling so you'll have to give me a little time to check on it. I know I have footage of me thwacking some decently geared undead mage with my mageblade while I'm silenced -- pretty sure the mage's name started with an "m."
A true hero of the Alliance. God bless, mate, and thanks for sharing your story. It's because of people like you that we can fondly remember the old days.
Ross Newman not every one has the same effect, are you an idiot?as the game progressed skill started being the only thing that matters.nobody actually likes hitting one button and killing people and people dont like being one shotted by someone without any special reason other than "hurrdurr my pyro can crit ur hp bar away hurr".pvp is now about player vs player skill rather than class and gear vs class and gear.
hey man, this is 1 of the best world of warcraft movies i ever seen, missing the old wow so much after i saw this video, so cool that you found this old legecy videos :)
Dude, when I saw ATR I was thinking you were on Mag, then I read right! I used to be a 3minute mage in Reckless Desire. I admired your character. So funny I spot you again a decade later.
This is the feeling that came with Vanilla. I had the privilege of experiencing the beginning of WoW. Pre battlegrounds days. I got to go wild as a mid level 30 fighting in huuuuge TM/SS battles(hunters flare and imp. concussive shot was my contribution to protecting all the clothies from the predictable rogue ganks). Going to all these private servers that allow you to relive the glory days do not cut it. You cannot recreate the naiveness and the lack of skill that came with the beginning of WoW. I amassed close to 200,000 kills over my period of pre battlegrounds to the mid period of WotLK. I dropped out of high school to achieve High Warlord on my male undead warlock(Thank you Drakedog for the inspiration). Life continued and I had to leave the gaming behind, but I will forever hold onto those days. Love you WoW, you will always be that ex girlfriend that I hated and loved but could never get enough of you.
damn so much nostalgia i had a tear going down durring the video and that's what i call a legendary guy which done legendary things gg bro for this video ❤❤❤❤❤
People so salty in the comments lol. They forget that the game itself was a balance train-wreck back then. (I mean, okay, it's still pretty bad...) But that was part of the fun, finding the crazy specs and gear setups and crushing people. Ah, the good 'ole days... too bad I was a feral druid and pretty much worthless until WoTLK lol.
It was like warlocks were horrible but if you took engineering you could do ok. There were many "tricks" that gave you the edge but the best thing was probably the only way to learn them was to watch people their video`s.
Imagine if it was the same today, then EVERYONE would play the op class.. People don't play games because of skill anymore, all they want is an easy game to pick up and just play.. Blizzard had to form their game after what the masses want, or else the game wouldn't have survived over WoTLK, as simple as that!
It was fun for certain people, because fun is subjective. And no, it's not that the "specs were broken" it was more of a "you're forced to play just THIS ONE spec otherwise forget about doing the content" because of bad design and bad balancing. Feral couldn't tank, not because resto did stuff better, but because feral was bad at doing that, same thing for balance being unable to deal damage, they were just underwhelming and no one picked them because they simply sucked, so people were forced to pick the only spec that was not bad and stick with it, you had no choice if you wanted to do content in general. Nowadays it's much better and there is much more diversity, and that is a fact, not your nostalgia bullshit. Anyone who thinks things aren't better nowadays is just a delusional idiot.
We diudnt care about balance lol. There was no yotube to get perfect speccs all that. So ppl had to figure out shit for them self or from their guild or friends. Just small portion of players used forums to change som information i guess. Even going back now, its not even unblanced rly.
RIP pvp in WoW. Today you can join a battleground as a fresh max level player and your gear will be auto adjusted to be equal with everyone else. So even if you have the best gear in the game it will still take you 10 minutes to kill a disc priest that just hit max level yesterday...
Wata Mote Not true, the artifact weapon traits matter and play a huge role as well as your ilvl which increases your dmg % by 1 for every 10 ilvl you have. 890 ilvl = 9% dmg buff with 10% damage buff trait vs a fresh 110 is a spank sesh unless you're from Ragnaros or QT.
I don't see the point you're trying to make, sorry. Just because something is not of the same genre does not mean they cannot be compared. The common denominator here is "PvP". Feel free to continue using fallacy though.
the correct answer to people who want to pvp: private servers. same game just before it went to crap. Also the difference Legion weapon traits make isn't enough honestly. Blizzard has appealed to casuals one time too many, now instanced PvP plays like their new favorite game: Overwatch. Just join and jump into the fray. Gear doesn't matter.
+doomhandle Sonofabitch. I probably owe you a slap or two. I never geared my mage back up in TBC as I had in vanilla, I still miss those 5k+ pyros... The only alliance mage I remember from world PvP in TBC was Remy. That fucker. Must have been a heyday for you with all the horde on there... the Alliance never had to endure our 3h AV queues in Vanilla.
As asomeone who had the dubious honor of being the most wanted alliance mage in the server for a week, I fully understand what you talk about, and boy do I miss them old days :)
I still remember at the end of BC when the patch was released to prepare for the release of WotLK, there was a phase where ret pallies were incredibly overpowered in PvP. I was always and still am a filthy casual, but that was the one time that even I could kill any class that was not also a ret pally :)
Back in 2007, I had a 29 human twink mage named Burrnn and was the GM of a 29 twink guild called . It was an alliance twink guild on Smolderthorn. My mage would kill people in the BG's like your doomhandle. I never had so much fun in wow. Those were the days, those were the times. I even had personal guards that would keep me protected in the BG's so I could set kids on fire. I was Burrnn of . I had over 75,000 lifetime kills at level 29 lol.
I just started playing and had to look up twinking.. sounds like some pussy ass shit staying low level on purpose just so you can outgear and overpower other people your level.. sounds like a real challenge there.
I love it. I wish I could go back in time to those days of 10 hours of vanilla WoW and still feeling excited as hell after that. And all the people, god damn I miss them.
Must have been a scary thing to run up to a mage, eat an Arcane Explosion, then realize a third of your health is gone as you see him casting fireball at you.
i would go back to play wow if vanilla servers were a thing. after a bit more research i think the better part of childish thinking got to me. nice video :D (3/28/17)
+ByeBaybe I wouldn't. Balance was terrible and everything was a ridiculously long grind. It was good at the time, but now it just doesn't fly for me. Then again I just dislike MMOs in general now.
Capnsensible80 that is a shame to hear. i love having long term goals. i play runescape now and i always have something to do. i think wow would just be more fun.
Awesome video a blast in the past if you will lol thanks alot man 2017 i needed that this legion xpac and the last few xpacs i haven't enjoyed as much as vanilla burning crusade and wotlk
This is going to sound REALLY strange, but did you work at Blockbuster in Carlisle, PA by chance?
guild was like something train
Yeah, during the summer. One of my shift leaders played also, that you?
HAHA, yep that was me man holy crap!! dude i still tell the story of your mage to some people that play/played wow that i've met over the years
:O
damnnn
I remember getting killed by so many mages and getting pissed. Then one day I rolled a mage and still died. It was on that day I realized I was just shitty.
Chimpz
Just roll night elf hunter and aimed shot them from shadowmeld. I sniped so many cheap, easy kills on clothies at the time. Especially in Alterac Valley.
@@johnwicksfoknpencil aimed shot works on stealth of shadowmeld? loool
Neto Freitas
In vanilla it did
You can't be shitty when there is 0 elements of skill required. You have 2 abilities, whoa
My undead rogue would make short work of this guy
still better than watching Custom UI PvP with infinite healing running around pillars.
ikr looks fudging boring
+Chris Prox HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA THIS IS SO FUCKING TRUE.
uhm. PvP nowadays takes some skill and not just about burning a cd and oneshotting poeple. Also... why watching it when you can do it? And healing is not infinite. Interruption is a thing and you know many mchanics as well.
It takes zero skill it's playing tic-tac toe on a flashing UI, you don't even look at the game graphics anymore.
#wowclassic
Done same thing with my warrior in TBC againts a pyroblast mage with shield reflect , it was an epic scene indeed.
Barrier would not have helped much there, need backup ice block with those endevours ^^ apperantly double trinkets diddnt require much + int
You're lying to farm upvotes.
@@lotharschramm5000he isnt lying i was there dude trust me bro
You have some skill with videos man, consider making more!
same thing happened to me !
Glink yeah loved my druid twink moonkin back in the days, so op in pvp
These were the best times i ever had playing any game during vanilla wow. Almost shed a tear from nostalgia alone.
come and join us back then, Nostalrius is reborn as Elysium :)
VERY GOOD P-Server and vanilla wow was great too but I still love ma good old WotLK :3
it actually can be, new fresh server has started several days ago. You can experience whole authentic set of vanilla goods and dreads :)
You people pretending to want something like vanilla wow while actually getting vanilla wow through Elysium are so fucking impossible to please... jesus christ
i was only 12 and it took my life like heroin
silIlis youre not the only one dude.
It took like 5 years of my whole live 😅 heroin loses vs WoW 😅
silIlis The point of life is to Enjoy it & have fun, if you did that then you've succeeded.
Yeah wow was a fucking bitch i missed nearly 1 year of school to play wow 😂😂
It's actually quite a concern that young people are able to get their hands on something this addictive. In terms of consecutive hours spent looking at the screen, it's way more enslaving than, say, pornography although the latter has its own problems. I spent most of my free time in 2007 playing the game although I was able to hold down a steady job relatively successfully and eventually moved to London to live with friends, at which point I stopped playing and took up running instead. I've revisited Azeroth several times since, including recently although nothing really beats the experience of vanilla back in my early 20s.
Same
I think the reason the nostalgia and sadness hits so hard is because WoW popped all of our MMORPG or RPG in general cherries, and nothing could ever be the same.
Even if the traditional mmo genre could never reach the same heights, I think it's still viable--and that it's kind of a shame that it seems to be dead.
doomhandle yo what was the macro you had for your mage that did loads of damage
PoM-Pyro I'm guessing? o.O
Ye..mmo world was just different
I started with city of heroes (well anarchy online, but, that was different)>wow after, and entering stormwind my first time was like ''wow''.
You used to gank me so much I switched from Horde to alliance. I'm still alliance to this day.
Haha, any hard feelings? I definitely did some psychological stuff to make sure that my character got stuck in people's minds. People don't remember an isolated gank -- but if they get ganked three times with a /spit each time, they think "what is this guy's problem" and then talk about it with others.
doomhandle oh no hard feelings at all man!
That must have been really frustrating for other people.
I wouldn't even mind being the one getting ganked if I got the honor to play back then. :D
I still remember a guy's character name from vallina for that very reason. MadHatter was a rogue that would gank people in SW. Was a great time. He was the fun kind of guy though you didn't mind dying to him. He let me get my trinket in STV arena on my level 19 rogue. Cool dude, will always remember him.
wow noob
No but really, great video. I'm glad you decided to look through an old hard drive and upload this footage. I think your story follows the same path as many other people who started playing WoW during Vanilla; most stopped at the end of WotLK. Lich King kind of felt like a finale to WoW in it's original form.
+billy donuts true
My god. He has reached level we thought to be 'unreachable'.

He graduated from Cornell law school. I bet you cant be as successful as him in either virtual or real life ;)
You better come back! WoW Classic is making the comeback in Blizzard server!!
This filled me with such nostalgia my eyes almost tear up. The memories from old World of Warcraft are breathtaking and the way you pictured the "era" in this video was brilliant. This is a worthy tribute to vanilla WoW. Great job man!
+Robin Lundgren Thanks, that means a lot!
ahh back when Warriors couldn't charge in combat. Locks had bags fulled of shards and no pvp trinkets.
Still better than joining LFR and going AFK through the entire game's content.
Casualizing this game for RP is what lost blizzard 3/4 of their player base.
Honestly what I want is Vanilla with TBC balancing and classes.
+Priam66 that exist but doesn't have that many players on it. vanilla 2.43
+GrinningMongoose WoW was always for casuals, dumbass
I constantly am reminded of reasons I'm glad I left my Warrior dead in Desolace at level 33 in classic. That charge thing was one of the most fun-deflating things. Find yourself a mob, get ready, get... aggro, walk over to the mob and auto yourself some rage.
this is the WoW i know and miss!
+John King skill you mean unbalanced to all holy f***
xero spacious it's always been unbalanced, atleast then you could 1v1 any class and you would need skill to win....now it's who can burst who.
also pve and pvp back then were much harder and required more skill.
I admit wow is casual now but saying it takes no skill is just a fucking lie
new players: "your transmog sucks kid"
Tg Noxxelius thats the wrong belt
Dont forget a whole bunch of racist kids
Tg Noxxelius they will never understand lol
lol he didnt mean it like that he was saying that that is what a new wow player would say
True dude xD
I watched the entire video looking for bibimbap and was kind of sad that I didnt see him. Until the last 2 seconds of the video LOL
daamn the nostalgia hit me like a truck
Like the Berlin christmas market?
that was a NICE comment, m9 ;)
Philip Mario more like a fireball ahahaha
I don't know if you remember me, I was a horde mage named Icewalker on Mal'Ganis, we had some epic back and forths on the throne of elements back in the BC days.
Yeah, I had lot of good times around the throne of the elements. I think that means a lot of horde were having bad times, heh.
Wo now i tried giving you a run for your money when you tried to flex nuts.
I erased any failures from my mind. Out of curiosity, were you a troll or ud? And what gender and guild? I'm a confused old man -- might trigger my memory.
Male UD Mage, I don't remember what guild I was in at that time, maybe Keen Formation.
Answer him i need to see a reunion between the both of you! q.q wish one of my old friends/enemies would contact me form the old days for a good laugh...
"I want to play that game, but that one player keeps kicking my ass."
"Is it the Legend 27?"
"The fuck ? No, it is Doomhandle"
Back when numbers actually meant something and critting over 4k made you pee your pants, those were the days!
+TubeLadin nah the best days were at WTLK but classic vanilla wow raids were awesome I shall admit
you obviously didnt play til wrath if you think it was the best lol, wotlk was the beginning of the end.
+Calvin McNeil wotlk was wow expansion, not lol.
huehue
it's not that, I didn't mention anything having to do with League, so I don't even know where you got that from
+Calvin McNeil im sorry if u took that seriously...
Only thing i miss from vanilla is the balanced Horde / Alliance servers
Nowdays its all 99% 1 side 0.1% other
not for long, legion will make it balance again
+Wm Wm how?
Everyone was making alliance humans because of their racial, leaving the server in quite the disbalance. Now that the racial got nerfed and every race is given a pvp "racial" which doesn't take a trinket slot there is no reason to make a human anymore other than looks.
And PvP rewards will be given to the top alliance and horde players separately. So a lot of people will go horde to get their PvP rewards that they couldn't have gotten when there were so many alliance characters.
so having a stunbreaker again after 30 seconds of trinketing is a nerf in your mind? lmao
188 wod players did not like this !
+hejsantxu LoL
Freezer Pops :D :D
and the rest are people with nostalgia glass.
prolly
Are there any post without you in the comments? Get a life. People have been playing vanilla wow private servers for years and continue to enjoy it, and it's not just a couple of hours of play and then realising that you only came because of the nostalgia and that the game actually sucks. People play for months of /played time.
I miss these days because the entire server knew who I was. You LOOKED geared and you stood out from the casuals. And not just me. All the top players on the server knew each other. Our deeds spread like legends.
and dont forget the need 4 teamspeak ....you got to known mostly all players of your progresslvl cause you spoked with them someday
D G Cant even tell if serious or not
It was a good time we had community. Guilds used to talk to each other and help each other with pve strats.
If you're a good player now people will know who you are, now people are judged by rating and ranks on warcraftlogs, in Vanilla people were mostly judged by gear.
Being Horde I remember seeing paladins and ran from them cause I knew nothing about them and when they were geared they looked intimidating AF
No king rules forever my son
It's sad. LFR and LFG are terrible things the game would be better without.
you can basically link ur ilvl and achievment and do most content.
Ever since Blizzard started making everything easier (except bossfights) the player base started to decline heavily.
shit quality, iron maiden, old school wow, big crits, these are the best kinds of videos
thank you for the great nostalgia video.
i really miss these times when a mage was a mage, dealing massive damage and couldn't take any.
Fire / Arcane spec best spec ^^
***** I know but back in TBC and Vanilla you could go half arcane and half fire spec, instant pyroblast in PvP it was OP as damn despite the CD's.
Still now days i go Fire in all PvP and just use arcane in PvE. I'm addicted to fire.
***** Aye, we may not ever get them back but hey they are awsome memories.
I don'T miss the days when some classes could literally oneshot people. Pvp nowadays is better.
End of story.
as a night elf ... shadowmeld' waiting for mage targeting s.b., than Aimed shot + arcane shot = mage down (usually) :)
Arcane blast didnt exist in vanilla but i assume you mean Arcane eplosion ;)
Yeah! Arcane explosion! Hahaha, it's been awhile.
+Garrett Johnsen (Temecula iPhone Repair) arcane explosion was removed? whaaaat cry
I also remember killing a 60 Warlock that tried to gank me when I was 44 on my rogue. It was a glorious moment.
"cue era-appropriate pvp music"
I laughed out loud at this.
Good times, your vid was hella nostalgic as I too played a 3 minute mage
inequality is healthy in a MMORPG. People who invest more time, should get rewarded more than others who invest less. This was a real game, not the nowadays shit
+DrPizka I take it you did not read the '3 minute mage' part then? ;)
+ServusAlexandriMagni what do you mean??? :/
Holy shit. You played on Mal'Ganis! I was horde on Mal'Ganis and you were a goddamn NIGHTMARE. Amazing.
the actual representation of "you think you do but you dont"
+B Lol that'd you'd brag about lvl 18 frags , high warlord
Props for exterminating goonsquad garbage
Nice maiden song. Cheers for the old times
WORLD OF WARCRAFT CLASSIC HERE I COME
[THUNDERFURY, BLESSED BLADE OF THE WINDSEEKER] SHALL BE MINE
jamie beast mastery hunter here i come
mediv staff wil be mine !
Which version ? 1.1 ? 1.6 ? 1.8 ? 2.0 ?
TTF The Moffa Play on kronos wow
And then the first expansion comes out and ALL your efforts go into the place where sun doesn't shine...
Yeah... fun-fun...
criosray It's gotta develop. Otherwise, you reach the end, that's it. And you got nothing left to do but to quit basicly.
TTF The Moffa
True. Altho, most of the raiding guilds at that time haven't even cleared Ahn'Quiraji and didn't even start clearing Naxxramas. What's the point in released such content and then making it obsolete almost right away?...
I was the guy across the river from Nesingwary. :D I miss you too
POM PYRO, the ultimate wetness for the young boy I used to be when I first played this game. That and the arms warrior with multiple sword procs. The game will never be as good as it was. RIP WoW
+J Ewert Reckoning bombs were better! (and far more broken)
Trink+Trink+AP+PoM+Pyro, with a hardcasted fireball to open. ffs that damage could kill anyone
What about Windfury procs on a Crusader enchanted Unstoppable Force?
Yep. Polymorph. Double trinket. Hard cast pyro into a PoM Pyro. Always killed someone. Including the 10K health Warlocks.
the feels dude :'( i remember having being 3-4 years old and watching my father pvping in alterac valley for hours with his night elf druid which he achieved the Pvp title: Commander back then and he still has it to this day....the feels man
Lmao ur father sounds cool where is he now?
"seem"
lol ni
no
yeah... playing warrior was fun. forced to tank. had to spam sunder armor since it was the best attack to generate threat. fucking hillarious and complex. xD
no.
I remember you. I was going to make a comment if you were on Magtheridon. We may have even been in the same guild at some point. Cool old footage.
I hope you come back on aug 27. classic release
OMG Those Fire mage plays! I missed this stuff dude!
Ah the days of clicking, back peddling, key board turning, and tbagging in bgs. So cringy, but memorable. #riplegacyservers2016
uhh nostalrius is relaunching two servers dec.17, legacy servers have never been bigger and its only gonna grow
sweou Still not a "legacy server." A legacy server would be a previous expansion hosted by Blizzard, not a third party pirate.
If that is your definition of it.
It literally an exact copy of them. Who it is hosted by doesn't change one feature in the game.
warmane 4 lyfe
If anyone knows Vanilla, you'll know how awesome this is - took me right back to the old big blue dress videos ;_;
Damn son. I just randomly had this recommended to me and it brought back a flood of memories. You and BadRasta changed my mages life course for the better. Thank you.
00:20 Seeing Linkin park lyrics from an expressive emo kid in the general world of warcraft allchat. Ah, Vanilla WoW, how i've misssed you.
"shut up you dont understand me" had me fucking dead lol
Ah I remember those days. I was a bit less geared, but there were still times where I could pull off 1v5s+. The gear inequality was insane, but so was the skill difference. The skill level of everyone from the super casual to the elite has increased by unbelievable proportions over the years
vanilla wow was a lawless wasteland
And it was glorious
*shit
+TwenOalley So i bet you have only played legion. Maybe cata if i'm going to make a generous presumption. Get out of here baddie.
riplip at least in cata, you need more than good gear to be good at pvp. This guy's video, with all the lacking of binds and backpedaling, is a proof of how unbalanced pvp was in vanilla, pure joke.
You pretend as if you can insta-cast pyroblast is something you can do all the time, I doubt you have ever even tried vanilla.
Why vanilla WoW was the best:
1. You had to walk to your class trainer every other level to pay for spells
2. Talents could be mixed and matched, not generically chosen for you per each of the 3 trees
5. Things were harder to do, elite quests meant teaming with random guys in the area by doing /join general and asking if anyone was on that elite quest
6. World PvP was incredible , sucked getting ganked a lot tho in Stranglethorn vale or Crossroads lol
7. I feel like WoW attracted more mature minds back in vanilla time .. Now it feels like it's mostly teen boys running around , which is probably why blizzard dumbed down the game so bad.. I mean come on, I saw a level 2 on a mount today
8. Class quest chains were fun as hell
9. Plaguelands quest chain.. enough said
Sort of like, lifting the heaviest weights you can will make your muscles get bigger automatically
12. Walking everywhere! Such a brave new magical world to explore... from the tombs of Deathknell, to the shores of Stranglethorn vale, to the forests of Zul gurub.. early WoW was magical for the sole purpose that we all felt that magic entering strange new lands
13. People in general seemed much more social back then. Not everything was about hitting cap level and raiding nonstop. Back then I made the best of friends with so many cool chicks and dudes. Probably half a decade it went on till I quit
Things will never be the same as I doubt blizzard would ever consider going back to vanilla days , but I'm glad I starting playing and soaked the legendary game that was vanilla WoW & TBC.
The All Seeing Thigh in reality it was just lame, big time wasting and undeveloped
The nostalgia may be strong, but the game mostly got better and more fun to play imo
doesnt sounds good at all lol
Like...
The All Seeing Thigh God people like you are so deluded.
This video is perfect. Era-correct pvp music included.
its hilarious how the polymorphed dude died as a sheep and stayed a sheep
Everyone in the comments like they can't play on Nostalrius and relive the glory days. Vanilla wow is just as great as you remember
Ross Newman this video was uploaded to prove how shit vanila pvp was.no sane pvper will go back to that skilless bullshit version.
firebreathing firebreather this is way more fun and entertaining than panda-legion pvp, the "lets make everyone the same effect" ruined it for me
Ross Newman not every one has the same effect, are you an idiot?as the game progressed skill started being the only thing that matters.nobody actually likes hitting one button and killing people and people dont like being one shotted by someone without any special reason other than "hurrdurr my pyro can crit ur hp bar away hurr".pvp is now about player vs player skill rather than class and gear vs class and gear.
firebreathing firebreather pvp is a bore now thats why I'm back to vanilla and don't touch my legion account
Guarantee you're not even close to 2.7k rating on live, probably somewhere around 1.3k lmao
when u realize a lvl 60 was criting harder then I did when I played in woltk
Yeah but wotlk was the pinnacle of pvp and wow
This video takes procrastinating to a whole nother level - thanks for sharing though :D
This is the most nostalgic video i have seen in years. Some of my best memories were playing this game as a kid, almost 30 now.
Ahh, the memories.. when wow was fun, had communities and guilds served a purpose
S key backpeddling legend. Never forget.
Only way to play a mage is Alliance imo. More specifically an annoying gnome that pisses everyone off lol. Also great Maiden music!
like mojache
altie29 I'mafirein muh fireball!
EQOAnostalgia DON'T YOU DO IT JIMMY
DjinnePasse "i'm going to call other peoples taste in music shit in the youtube comments section because i'm hip"
why? i mean, is there any special reason like passive race skills?
hey man, this is 1 of the best world of warcraft movies i ever seen, missing the old wow so much after i saw this video, so cool that you found this old legecy videos :)
"Love you WoW, you will always be that ex girlfriend that I hated and loved but could never get enough of you." THIS is so god damn true.
good stuff. i miss vanilla, playing a mage was a blast. RIP
an arcane blast
damn so much nostalgia i had a tear going down durring the video and that's what i call a legendary guy which done legendary things gg bro for this video ❤❤❤❤❤
Oh my fucking god this video is amazing!! I miss the vanilla days so much!
this is pure wow
uncut, 120 per g m8
+Dylan Ezell this is head n head with the reunion
People so salty in the comments lol. They forget that the game itself was a balance train-wreck back then. (I mean, okay, it's still pretty bad...) But that was part of the fun, finding the crazy specs and gear setups and crushing people. Ah, the good 'ole days... too bad I was a feral druid and pretty much worthless until WoTLK lol.
Yup. The balance wasn't awful as it sounds, everyone did ridicules stuff like this, everyone oneshotting eachother, it is awesome.
Vanilla never going to forget the moment you got your first purple...
Fuck i miss that simple feeling
The game is complete dog anyway. Idk why people still play WoW. If you want PvP go play Dota or League.
Completely different genres... thats like saying dota is shit go play csgo for pvp
Dude > Should be a title :)
Also I have an unexplainable urge to play my alliance mage all of a sudden
> Pile of bones at 7:44 in that specific spot.
Yep, seems about right.
whats the backstory on that spot?????
Since I had a potato with an antenna as a computer, my FPS dropped while mid-air. The character did not render correctly and tippy-toe'd REKT there.
This video is awesome bro, im in Tears.
You are so Lucky that you played this old-time beauty.
Came for nostalgia,stayed for Maiden.
Did you play on Mal'ganis during TBC? was a mage named doomhandle that camped daily zones so hard.
+Ant Man Same person, yep. It's explained in unnecessary detail at the end.
Holy shit the backpedaling tilted the shit out of me.
What's "tilted," precious?
You don't know what being tilted is....... my god
TheRealTwiz2 To be inclined, sloped, or slanted?
TheRealTwiz2
That's not very nice.
lmao no shit.
As asomeone who had the dubious honor of being the most wanted alliance mage in the server for a week, I fully understand what you talk about, and boy do I miss them old days :)
7:44 that slope became my most hated place in the game
As a pally in Vanilla, I hated spellcasters. They were so OP. Now it is payback time.
rofl, still cannot kill my friends pala tho QQ 2 many bubbles to kite
I agree about Ret. I play Prot mostly.
It really sucks twinking is completely dead.. Was a huge hobby for so many people :(
I just started playing and had to look up twinking.. sounds like some pussy ass shit staying low level on purpose just so you can outgear and overpower other people your level.. sounds like a real challenge there.
I love it. I wish I could go back in time to those days of 10 hours of vanilla WoW and still feeling excited as hell after that. And all the people, god damn I miss them.
I see you didn't include getting one shot by Arms Warriors or Windfury Shamans using 2h weapons (like Sulfuras).
Look at the skill bars. Now look at the skills in BFA. Wow is so limited now. I'm still playing but man I miss the old days.
Well, I guess you can do it again when classic hits.
@@someone-ji2zb I'm actually excited about that.
Lol stfu, there are about 20 spells(without teles, and consumables) and from them he uses mostly 1-2 spells
lol?? hes got fucking drinks n food binded to action bars? half of those are garbage not even spells.
Agreed, I'd rather have 30 extra niche buttons and spells that I use every blue moon. A lot of what they prune made the class what it was
Must have been a scary thing to run up to a mage, eat an Arcane Explosion, then realize a third of your health is gone as you see him casting fireball at you.
Classic WoW, we are back, and it will be awesome, can't wait. 27 Aug, 2019.
Nice video. The shitty quality complements it
i would go back to play wow if vanilla servers were a thing.
after a bit more research i think the better part of childish thinking got to me. nice video :D (3/28/17)
+ByeBaybe try Kronos private server?
looks fresh
NO ONE HAS EVER SAID THAT
YOU MUSTNT BE LIVING UNDER A ROCK
back when Blizzard allowed players to make black humans
lol the one good thing blizzard has done in the past decade
Awesome video a blast in the past if you will lol thanks alot man 2017 i needed that this legion xpac and the last few xpacs i haven't enjoyed as much as vanilla burning crusade and wotlk
