Mine was getting stuck at a similar spot and the 5 second reset worked for me with the engine running. The plastic cover is for the door hinge check strap. Thanks for the advice.
I had this happen on a mk1 Ford galaxy years ago. Turned out to be the cable in the cog that is driven by the motor had jumped out of the recess and jammed the window mech. If I remember correctly. One cable is wound one way and the other cable wound the other way. They are awkward to refit but it is doable 😊👍
If the window get stuck, it will automatically going up that's in case your fingers get stuck, so don't think it's stuck. Have lookt at the Dutch forum, and lots of times it seem toe bee the wiring, it's broken inside the isolation, that's happened too my, various problems can come out of that. Try wiggle the wiring between the door and the car, I no it's strange but your problem ant regular also 😀 I will follow it by foot 👀
i have the same problem: the passenger side window in my VW T4 van started to stop halfway down. Did you find a solution? did anyone mention reset? how to reset window commands?
It looks similar toe kits friendly window as you see in some cars at the back doors, for security the window in not opening complete, have not experienced it at my T4, so can't help you any furer sorry 😕

Something may be stuck in the middle which might be preventing it from going all the way down :)
