I like the quality of the video and seamless information presented. However, the music piano was too loud at the beginning and distracting from his voice and muffled what Jethro was saying. Music ruins these types of videos. It is not needed. Once the music stopped I could hear what he was saying clearly and enjoyed it from that point on.
@@brianpercival1829 I have to say I see it completely opposite. I rather like the music in the early scenes. I also had no issues with understanding the narration with the music in the background.

Jethro .....good to see you back on the channel. Just so you know, we're with you with every stroke of the hammer, the squeeze of the drill trigger etc.... You and I know there's a love for this car that requires extraordinary give and takes....At the end of the day your heart and soul will be manifested in a beautiful Alfa.... Stay strong...
I have 40 years in the resto trade and you are doing good work for someone that isn’t a body guy. When your shrinking you need someone to hand the torch to so you can get the hammering and cooling done quick. Set up is key so it is quick but not rushed. You should get a slapper for working the hot spot too. Much better then a hammer. Keep up the good work mate.
Fantastic work mate. Heat shrinking can definitely be infuriating so moving on to something else is always a great idea. Looking forward to this build coming together.
It's the honesty of the content in these uploads make them well worth watching. No quick edited highlights showing everything finished in double quick time - that don't happen with old cars, we who do it, know it - and Jethro knows it too and shows the reality of a car build. Tiny steps, the ups and the downs. Another quality video from Mr Bronner.
Jethro, I began watching your videos as I was interested in a 1969 1750 Berlina here in Australia. I have now bought the car and it is just beginning its journey from Queensland to me in NSW. I’ll do a video of it once it’s in my garage. Keep up the great work mate.
Awesome Jethro! If there's any car worth restoring, it's the Epic 105! That beautiful body... Just never ceases to amaze me. What a shape! I know the lines so well, having worked on them as a youngster. Keep up the great work, and stay safe and strong! 💪👍
Just picked up a 98% un-molested, rust-free(so it "appears") 1974 115! So a new owner, fresh into the Alfa world and totally stoked! Great videos, I'm learning tons. Thanks and what a great car. Smitten.
lots of passion here, my classic daily driver had bad floor pans, aftermarket sound deadener was just a sponge for water, i ended up removing said deadener, grinding whatever i could and then coating it with rustoleum rust reformer, most holes were pin holes and the biggest was the size of a large coin. im no welder nor do i have access to one so after the rust reformer i put down some aluminium butyl tape to cover the holes before more rust reformer over the top. Not the best solution but should last another 10-20 years before i need to worry about doing some welding. I hope one day to have that skill and knowledge.
Impressive craftsmanship and patience! I can confirm that aligning the front and rear bumpers to be inline with the bodylines and bodytrim makes an incredible visible impact, and it is well worth the extra effort.
Great to see you back on youtube. The skill and patience you have never ceases to amaze me! I agree with you that Ocra is a seriously cool shade for the GTV.

Great update, looking forward to seeing this car come together, you’re spot on about the details, when I had mine restored there’s so much more that could have been done on the metal, I look at it now and I’m very critical, yet many people don’t see what I see. Restoring old cars to a good standard is hugely time consuming, but it is time well spent. 👍🏻
Ciao Jethro, your videos are awesome! All you need for a relaxing evening are your videos and a glass of delicious wine. But unfortunately I have something to complain about.. Please do not use gloves while working on the drill. The machine does not stop and this can cause very serious accidents. But you still do a great job! Safety first.
I have a 1970’s Ford Escort with a similar number of small (possibly hail damage) dents, I hired a guy from ‘dent-master’; he took half a day worked without a break using his special tools and he popped all the dents out, no heat, no suction cups or glue pads, just a series of long ‘spoons’ with a fulcrum pivot braced against the nearest support. Roof looks good as new now, and his 4/5hrs call out charge was less than €250.
Great work, Jethro. Suggest using a non shrinking seam sealer in the bonnet, never over bare metal. Silicone has a tendency to rot sheet metal. Suggest a 2 part sound deadener material, such as Sem 39977. This will stop flapping, and keep moisture out. Do Not use foam- it will cause waves in your metalwork. Cheers
Awesome stuff mate, keep at it! Just one suggestion: reconsider the moments you are wearing your gloves, they can be pretty dangerous when operating the cutting disc or the drill. Unfortunately witnessed a friend of mine basically destroy his finger as his glove got caught in a drill...
The correct name for the piece you cut out is a roof bow, structure which supports the roof skin and the screens are front and rear header rails. Connenction between roof and roof bow should be adhesive, but obviously welded to the B pillars.
Nice job Jethro, keep them coming and great to see progress on the GTV. Every project is a journey in its own right and every Alfa owner knows it! I started converting my doors 6 months ago and still not finished!
Top work and so glad to get videos from you every time! I must say though I've seen some of what's happening in your country. I pray and hope you are well and okay.
If making another run at the roof and using heat, torch, try adding an ice soaked rag or a keyboard duster can turned upside down has a nice cooling affect to shrink and reduce the tin canning.
Jethro, great work!!! Just in case you didn’t know, I know this for seeing it being done, the thing with the roof, you first hammer it, then apply the heat with the torch in the place it’s stretched until its nearly bluming red, then with a very wet rug, place it in the place very quickly and it will shrink the point. You have to do this severeal times its how it used to be done, I’ve seen it done with acetilen blow torch, not shure if the map torch is enough, nevertheless its great to see your videos!!! Best of luck!!!
I might be a bit late but a shrinking disk on an angle grinder will sort that roof in no time. Even I managed to use it. Great work I don’t know how you get so much done.
This video is just great. Thank you for showing all the process in real time, not speed up. Even though I enjoy that kind of video too, this shows how patient you need to be and how much time it really takes. Back in the day we called that color baby s**t brown. I learned rust repair on my first car, purchased in 1967, a 1964 registered 101 Series Alfa Sprint 1600 Normale. The first of many Alfas to follow until I had had enough in the 1990s, a man should know his limits. Hi Jethro from Sydney Australia. Silicone inside the bonnet.... maybe sikaflex should have been used as a bonding agent (or something like it) instead. It does get hot when it goes off, so problems can arise there.... but the joins/seams will never accept paint as there's silicone there now. Unless perhaps a thin wipe of seam sealer can cover up the silicone? Not sure. Anyway, good work mate, it's starting to come together. Cheers !
