And some bands won't play without their laptops
im assuming your talking about falling in reverse, while im not a fan of them personally, a large amount of their show (lighting, backing vocals/choirs, sound effects and synth) was ran by the laptops so they really couldnt play their songs to the fullest extent without the laptops.
And some bands don't have a lot of money to spend on equipment that will get ruined by rain

metallica on this tour does also rely heavily on laptops and what not, they're not even playing into real amps

Yes that was Manchester City stadium in 2019. However, this clip makes that look like a little shower.
What supreme professionalism to carry on in that deluge. The likes of Taylor Swift and to many more artists would have been scuttling off stage with a meek apology.

In play in a classic rock cover band. I have never played in the rain (nor would I), but having a small bottle of baby powder on hand is a lifesaver on a muggy day.

I would not take my expensive guitars out in that. I am really impressed they played, at that level most either would not or go under cover and play. They rocked it out in the pouring rain with the fans!!

Mass respect for them playing out in the rain with the fans. Most musicians of their caliber and fame would cancel the show, or at least postpone it or refuse to play unless they had cover built for them.

It was an absolute fantastic show and I honestly didnt really hear any struggles but maybe that was just because the moment caught me. Was standing maybe 4 meters / 12 feet infront if them in that pouring rain and the lightning over the stadium during MoP was just amazing.
I was there! it was the most amazing thing ever. They are true professionals.

I’m a blues rock guitarist now . But these guys got me into guitar. Both of them are very good at what they do. Kirk gets slack but he is a good metal lead guitarist. He appreciates history too. He has Greens and Moore’s Les Paul

@@euuuuugggg33 lots of their stuff is custom made, so I imagine it’s not easy to replace in a timely manner. My point isn’t money, it’s to show that sports and music are different when it comes to rain lol
@@Nekro_bird its not like they back in 1983 when they thought its the end of the band when all of their equipment was stollen. They have backups of backups 100% and even if they dont, they can just snap their fingers and there would be a line of shops, ready to replace their current instruments just for the opportunity to work with tallica

Growing up I was not into metal so I never got into Metallica. But these fan videos of their recent shows is making me appreciate them a lot.
I am also struggeling with this wetter....... rain rain rain in the Netherlands since oktober 2023.

The band implemented rain to their live shows on August 9th 1992 and has part of James's contract ever since.

People accuse Kirk of hiding behind his Wah. I don't see anyone composing great guitar solos on a Wah like Kirk, so it must not be the Wah. That's like saying Randy Rhoads was hiding behind his overdrive pedals, and Tony Iommi was hiding behind his modified Treble Booster pedal.
@@MrNobody55555 : boosters and distortions do not automatically make you sound good. The nature of a wah is to make everything sound at least decent because of it's vocal character.

I don't understand how they can play like this without getting electrocuted.
They are both using wireless for their guitars. There is some risk from the microphones if they were to touch them but I’m sure they have very good safety measures in place for that. People have died from getting electrocuted by musical gear but I don’t think it’s happened in a long time and I’m sure none of the gear the microphones are plugged into is getting wet.

It was more likely gear failure, the first guitar seemed to have a volume pot problem and when he swapped to the new one he was giving instructions to his tech probably cause he couldn't hear himself in the in ears
