  • Award-winning filmmakers Howard and Michele Hall explain some of the challenges involved with trying to capture the elusive and majestic blue whale for their newest film for IMAX® and giant screen theatres, "Secrets of the Sea." It took Howard more than 10 years to capture enough footage for the 40-second blue whale scene in the film, which he co-directed with Jonathan Bird. Narrated by Joelle Carter, "Secrets of the Sea" dives deep beneath the ocean’s surface for a look at the astonishing ways different marine species interact with each other and their environment. From the smallest krill to the largest whales, ocean ecosystems depend on biodiversity and a surprising level of animal cooperation. Featuring incredible underwater cinematography filmed in 16 locations all over the world-from the Philippines and Indonesia to Mexico, Tahiti, Tonga and the Galapagos Islands-and a powerful score by composer Alan Williams, "Secrets of the Sea" is sure to thrill audiences in both dome and 3D formats as it reveals the many wonders and mysteries of our ocean world.
