Soda pop in glass bottles tasted so much better.
Bring back glass soda bottles...worked well for over 50 years.
Glass although it never degrades in nature, it can be recycled an unlimited amount of times with out losing the quality of product produced, unlike plastic.
Soda itself is unnecessary and unhealthy. It should be illegal to produce if you really care about the environment.
Oh you mean soda pop back before they started using corn syrup?
Lake Michigan water doesn't taste better in glass bottles, washed with Lake Michigan water! 😢
Ignore all the broken glass in streams / beaches/ roads / parking lots / play grounds.
Hey youngstupidGeneration.
The world has already been down that path.
Here's a tip to reduce plastic waste:
Don't use so much plastic.
Reduce the population.
@@taekwondotimeEugenics?
@@user-er3ri6sc3j Some people say that people named Eugene have a significantly greater plastics footprint than average.
Everything is made with plastic now.
@@weirdmatter Pretty much.
What's even worse is that people discard their plastics waste onto the environment.
That includes cellphones .
Only 5-6% of plastics actually get recycled. Want less plastic pollution? Its on the manufacturers to make less plastic. That being said as individuals we shouldn't buy unnecessary plastic when we can
Unfortunately, manufacturers are planning on doubling plastic use by 2050
Use leather instead of vegan leather! 👍🤓
Bill Nye the Science Guy
Show of hands how many people watched his show as a kid.
You mean back in the day when he was shilling for the FDA?
As a kid yes. Now I'm an adult so I don't take science advice from political activists..
ME! Here's a fun fact: Jaleel White was on the show, as himself!
I am glad that he is being realistic. 2:22
I live in a blue sanctuary city where they have banned plastic straws buy freely hand out plastic syringes to our drug dependent community members.
And everything else is plastic, like phone, clothes, cars, shoes, food containers. I'm guessing less than 10% of plastic is recycled, because new plastic is better quality & cheaper than recycled plastic.
After the third overdose no more narcan
That's a false correlation. Just because you need to use plastic for one thing doesn't mean we shouldn't stop using it elsewhere.
Honestly, we as a society should create less plastic. The companies should be burdened to not produce, therefore we do not have to worry about needing to recycle which probably won't work/happen anyways.
What happened to aluminum tins and all that? Bring back the quality goods from decades ago.
Nordstream pipelines.. The people who backed Ukr doing that want to lecture you on plastic..
I know isn't hilarious that they still love a falsehood idol that doesn't even know what he's doing.
Disposable plasticware is the worst. Try to use other options.
It's less poisonous when heated then reusable plastic, though!
When you really recycle the items that I put out in my trash then I will start recycling
Save the payphone.
LOVE BILL NYE!! ❤️ 😍
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Bill Nye the science guy!
Pass laws against the mega companies creating all the plastic waste!
I have a joke - a liberal and a Communist Walk into a bar 9 months later
You get Environmentalist 😘
Poor people have other worries.
That's the issue. Just because you are poor does not give you a pass to not care about anything or anyone.
@@user-fv4ov7bq4k I don't see it as a real issue. I see it as something that is being pushed on us. If you're poor and old and physically broken, a plastic bag is a lot easier to carry especially when they give you flimsy paper bags without handles.
@@user-fv4ov7bq4k By far most of the plastic is being thrown into the ocean by third world countries,
@@natwhite1679 Again, just because you are poor does not give you a pass to not care. Education is key in any situation.
@@user-fv4ov7bq4k The supposed environmental issues are being used as a tool to opress poor people. And as something to build up their absurd useless systems.
Bill Nye is an icon, well respected. When he speaks, people should listen and take heed.
😂😂😂😂😂
how Mississippi persecutes all those who oppose their old world way politics
Bill nye rules
😂😂😂😂😂
His advice about plastic was terrible. Most of it can't be recycled, and most of what _can_ be recycled isn't. I'd have expected him to know that. (And besides, so much of the plastic we buy isn't meant to have lasting functionality-- it cracks and breaks when subjected to anything other than the most moderate of conditions, which then creates micro-plastics.) The better choice is to just stop using it to the greatest extent possible. Buy products in glass, paper, and metal over plastic. Buy in bulk (like WATER!) rather than in single servings. Bring containers and fill them yourself, particularly bags of all kinds. And stop buying plastic crap! All those kids toys and knickknacks that just end up in the landfill, or worse: the ocean.
I'd say there's no alternative to plastic packaging of food!
@@DG-hw8it Of course there is! What do you think people bought food in before plastic was a thing? It wasn't that long ago, only a few decades.
Bill nye the engineer, get an actual scientist ffs
Bill Nye is a plastic waste.
Who remembers when the media started pushing plastics as a way to save the rainforests??
2-genders bill
Here's a tip to reduce plastic waste:
Stop telling us to reduce our waste when you keep increasing the population and thereby increasing overall consumption and waste.
I wish we can bring back the discussion of eugenics.
@@user-er3ri6sc3j All we need is a stable, manageable population. The government keeps pushing infinite population growth because of money. In the end, something will give. Can't increase population and reduce pollution. Impossible.
@@user-er3ri6sc3jAre you volunteering to sacrifice yourself?
Don't you worry little Willy Gates has that covered.
Exactly! No need for people over 50
