Whether this works or not, it is very interesting. I would like to see more of this kind of prototyping. Great job.

I had that exact same idea and told myself I was a genius. You've actually done some thing with it. Awesome!

The jet rocket rotors are the best and a robust rotor that has a good gyroscopic system is the one with the most lifting power and the safest as an autogyro.

    Nice experiment, suscribed.

If you reinforce it and give it more revolutions, I assure you that thing will fly.

Works pretty well. I envisioned a turbine engine to provide flow on a full-size unit, but then you have to deal with temps. Nice design.

Temps wouldn't be a problem if the jet directly drove the impeller via an extension shaft.

    Thats the way to go.

@Glensvideos actually, i did combine the rotor with my quadrocopter (and created a pentacopter). It flew ok otherwise, but had some serious vibration issues. However, the idea seemed to work, providing the lift with torqueless rotor and stability with quad control.

    Way Cool!
I modeled this idea in cardboard long before youtube in looking into an idea for a one man homebuilt copter. The model didn't work so good and fell to bits before I could show it around. Yea RUclips!
If you have plans for a kit copter I'd like to hear about them.

but can that small internal Impeller create enough air pressure to get the rotor blades to rotate fast enough to create lift..?

Where did you get this assembly from? It's a very neat interesting design, Did you do any more development with it? Did it lift it's own weight, I think some minor mods could make this design really takeoff :p Very simple personal heli??

Most of your answers are answered above at my video comments ;) Yes, it is a simple design, but adding traditional control with swashplates and linkages required for a real heli would pretty much take the simplicity advantage away. However, this can easily be attached to a multicopter, providing stability and control while maintaining the overall mechanical simplicity (see comment above).

Got my RUclips posted on my version of a Tip Jet Copter. (Wonder if it could be really made to work)

Got my RUclips posted of Tip Jet Copter Model 2 testing for torque effects and they seem negligible. Model 3 will be closer to the Do32 layout. Can you stear a copter with just weight shifting?

Short answer, no, I don't think that gravity control could work in hovering helicopters, hover is not stable configuration. But in forward flight that might work.
