Discovered his music 3 weeks ago, and Slowthai already became one of my favorite artist. I am not from the UK, I am from Puerto Rico, the island where we only listen to salsa and reguetton. But hearing this punk and rap type of music (still don’t know what name is the genre) is pretty amazing. And also this man (my opinion) deserves more recognition.

He’s different. You’re so used to seeing rappers/young artists with the same style. The mixture of the visuals, fusion of genres, unpredictable flow, poetic broken language, natural charisma and tales from a sleepy forgotten British working class city - is unique. This guy has insane potential as a musician, not just a rapper. Keep up the unpredictability my boy slowthai
I think another part of the reason is how down to Earth he is. The majority of british rap is about trynna convince you they are on road or don’t fuck wit their gang or some bullshit, whereas slowthai comes from a very modest and relatable back ground making his lyrics much easier to relate to than Zone 2’s. On top of that, lyrically he’s far better, doesn’t just use basic drill instrumentals, has new ideas for videos beyond flexing and seems like a genuinely nice guy in interviews whilst bringing an insane amount of energy to his performances. He’s easily one of the best on the British scene right now.
