This opera is more relevant than ever! Menotti somehow understood how revolutionary communications technology would become. Wonder if he’s watching and laughing, would like to write another opera now, call it “The Internet”? It’s so fitting that this would be performed so beautifully in the far North. What time of year was it recorded?
Hehe, and you watching this on YT… I think this was in “spring” although that’s normally the time of year we have the most snow in Tromsø… Not really spring until May.
I like The telephone opera so much - Menotti is genius composer and librettist! Well, the singers and chamber orquestra are very technique and superb musicians, but Sorry, the scenery and acting is ridiculous!!! no, no, no! And the sound recording is not good at all, if the idea was to record the floor steps sound then you achieved. Please Havard Bilsbak record those professional musicians better next time, it definitely not ok.

A good musical performance completely ruined by a simply horrendous staging. Menotti must be spinning in his grave!
