Thank you for sharing I like that idea about message to watcher with sending an offer. Yes I have noticed that it change after a few offers sent, I notice that when eBay change to format.
eBay is doing some funny stuff yet again!! On my listings, there are some fields that limit me on what I can actually input. These limitations have occurred within the last week or so. Thank you for the video! I do send offers, but the template is a great idea.
Ebay is gangster. I catch stuff like this all the time. I never respond to offers from mobile anymore. If someone sends you an offer on mobile, it does not show you the price you have it listed at to compare to. It shows you the last offer price whether you sent it or they did. I had a buyer take advantage of that once and sent me a pretty low offer that I did not accept. An entire week later they sent another offer like a dollar less than that, I saw they were only asking a dollar off my price and I accepted. I realized there was something wrong. Especially when it had happened a few times in like two weeks. Never accept offers on mobile. Ever. Ebay sets everything up to trick you into selling that item no matter the cost to you bc they are making money either way if it sells.
They also want free shipping, and I can't afford to give best offer anymore, because the economy is killing me too! I went on time away because I'm not making a profit here. eBay's just a scam, I wish I'd never gotten involved with them.
I wish eBay would let us know if it's a true buyer that is the watcher or just someone like me, watching to see if they sell it for that price, or if it's a seller I want to go back to later.
I did make the mistake of of posting price instead of percentage off. Was very impressed with a buyer who contacted me me instead of just jumping on it. 😅😅😅
I allow counter offers on everything. Very seldom do i get a counter offer. The beauty is i dont have to accept it. Sometimes i will, depending on how my sales are going.
Afternoon Jon, thanks for the updated information. I notices the offer feature was different. I slowly proceeded but I really didn't pay too much attention as you just pointed out to us. Once again you are a great & considerate reseller (so appreciate you) Thanks!!!
Agree, what you say in the video? Sometimes I price my item little higher than put best offerand when I run a sale .Sometimes just want a dollar or two off. To make them feel like they are getting a deal. Plus that's offer. Is good. sometimes You get the full price? Cuz they see activities on the listing. if you had the right margins in your items. You should. Have best offer. If you can't do Best Offer not buying right? in my opinion It should have. room to negotiate the price
I need to go through on my first 80 listings box them up so I know a exact shipping cost and change them from free shipping to flat. Then I can revise them and send offers out making sure I dont go above the shipping cost. . Maybe bundling a few in the process.
I was able to back out of that feature when it came up recently. The old option came up where I can put a set offer amount. I prefer that over using a percentage.
Also if you have multiple items and you think you are offering on a single item, if the person has multiple in the cart ya send an offer every item in the cart gets the offer price. That can sting a bit but ya end up selling them all wich is good.
i accidently sent an offer for 10 dollars instead of ten percent off on a 200 dollar light lol. luckily i caught it and just deleted listing but it was nerve racking
Had this with a silver £50 coin. Was listed at £85 tried to send a offer for £75 next I know buyer accepted at 75% off. Luckily enough as it has £50 denomination it was easy to explain to buyer and the let me cancel.
Yup! For Whatever Reason The % Vs $ Switches Every Now And Again. Made The Mistake Of Entering "10" In The Offer Box.. Was Suppose To Be 10 % Off, Instead, It Was $10. Fastest Sale I Ever Made! 🤣 Lost $80 On That Offer. Hoping I Only Make That Mistake Once!
I send automated offers, since I don’t have to vet buyers for frivolous negative feedback. If I sold in a scammy niche, would not use this feature because I would want to select my buyers as much as possible. I also allow counteroffers. People often come in at 50% and I can get 75% far more than half the time. Good enough for me.
Hi Jon, I like the blurb you paste into your watchers’ message area. Here’s my ‘blurb’ I use that seems to work well: “You & other watchers have been selected for a Special Offer to get this item at a discounted price if you buy now. Act soon, because this offer won’t last long & whoever responds first will get it.“

Since I'm only selling comics I'm always counteroffering whenever I get the chance...more often than not I make the sale. Great vid, sir!

Excellent information to give sellers! Thanks!

Looks like an easy mistake anyone can make if not paying close attention. Thanks for the heads up.

Are the computer screens different if you have a store or not? I don't have.a store and mine are different.
Hi all. Sometimes I have had eBay not let me send an offer to the buyer until the next day, which I think is too late. Does anyone know why this is?
I made mistakes like this a while back.
