@fb39ca4 looked to me like the driver just panicked and absolutely didn't know what to do. I lived on a mountain bike for a few years. Seen it happen. People seriously don't know what to do when they see bikes
In many places cycling on the sidewalk is illegal except to either start or stop the ride. Cycling in the middle is legal when no other options exist. That means driver cannot intentionally collide with the cyclist. Look it up.

Darwin talks about natural selection and as bad as a drunk is, these people were not single file and were in the middle of the lane on a two way limited access divided road. Also called a highway. They CANNOT maintain or even achieve the MINIMUM speeds for that road. They should have found an alternative. Again, the drunk is at fault and bikes are LEGALLY allowed as road users...but that does not mean they always should use certain roads and never take the lane like this. We will ALWAYS lose going against a car.

Riding bikes on roads is for poverty, homeless people. Serious cyclists with nice bikes need to ride in bike trails and bike parks.
