In October, I made this cute pumpkin hat! I've had so many positive comments on it everywhere I have worn it, and yes I will still wear it throughout the month of November 2022. Maybe I'll make the Elf Hat from 4 years ago for December 2022. :)
The timing of this could not have been more perfect. I was only saying to my colleague a few days ago that his new baby needed a matching hat for his pumpkin outfit and so it has been made and ready to give him at work next week!
Hi Jayda. This hat is really cute! I totally agree with you about not worrying about stitch counts. Thanks for such a fun tutorial! Perfect for fall. Have a wonderful weekend!💞
Hello Jayda, You did it again, This tutorial Pumpkin hat is so Beautiful, Oh my I have to make it. Thank you for this Wonderful Tutorial, God Bless you and Mr. Stitches
Jayda, please tell us about your hook! I think I remember a video of when you purchased it. What brand and name is it, please? Is it wooden? It's beautiful!! Thanks!
Isn't that pretty?? I love any excuse to use it 😁 It's a KnitPicks Rainbow Wood hook. I have found them in various craft stores, I think we got that one in particular at Mary Maxim. It matches my yarn winder!
OMG Jayda I am sloop going to make one for each of the girls and myself. Thank you for another great idea. I love the one of a kind ideas you come up with. Love it!
OMG this turned out SO cute!! I used Lion Brand Heartland in a 4 because that’s what I could find. This was pretty easy for a beginner. I am so excited to wear this to the Pumpkin Show this year!
I found that this pattern also works well with a bulky yarn, like Lion Brand's Thick and Quick. I ended up with a nice warm and cozy hat. True, my hat is not Halloween themed. I didn't use the stem and tendril part of the pattern, for example. However, the result was surprisingly good, even for an amateur like me. :) I did adjust the pattern to a 2-row repeat. Odd rows were all hdcs as the video depicts. Even rows were all hdcs except for the last say dozen stitches which were sl sts. This creates a fabric tapered at one end, which becomes the top of the hat. I found that the tapering makes it easier to draw the top of the hat together and sew the top shut.
@@JaydaInStitches Thanks to your videos, I've learned how to make a hat from the brim up, and now from the side. I have to admit that I've gone a bit hat crazy and have more hats than I know what to do with. I guess I've turned into a mad hatter. :) I'm going to have to check out in my area if there's any charities which would benefit from a donation of men's hats. I'd rather they be put to good use. Again, thank you Jayda for your excellent videos. :)
Now I have to dig out my orange yarn 😁😍. I know that I have black and orange together in a basket...🤔bc I intended to make an orange & black blanket of 1 stitch pattern or another years ago 😃...Love this and I'm sure that a niece or three will also 😍. Thanks 😁
I’m going to try to find it at Mary maxim. I like you crochet I see them like 5 year all ready you and Mr Stitch make me laugh and make me happy when I’m said. God bless you both very much. 😇🙋🏼🙏🏼!!!!
Sooo Cute Jayda Going To Make This For A Gift Just Love All Your Turtorials Your Such A Wonderful Teacher And Love Your Personality Keep Those Wonderful Turtorials Coming Jayda Are You Doing Any Thanksgiving Turtorials Like A Placemat Or Doily Please Thank You God Bless. 😊
Thanks so much Joanne 😊 I keep forgetting that the US hasn't had it's Thanksgiving yet * giggle * we had ours already! Thank you for the suggestion (and the reminder!) 💗
Hi Karen, we used a size 5 yarn. You can use the same hook we did if you're going to use a 4 instead, but you will want to pay more attention to the length of your first row. It might need to be longer because a 4 weight is smaller than a 5 weight (measurements are all mentioned in the tutorial) 😊
It's a sign!! Do you have any idea just how many times I have said to my husband that I need to make a pumpkin hat!? 🎃🎃 I think we need a quick fix! Pumpkin leaf applique to be added to the hat 💜
If you've got yarn you no longer want you can donate it or give it to friends who are just starting out with crochet or knitting. You can use it as stuffing for other little stuffed toy projects. If you're running out of room to keep it, but still want to crochet, you might want to think about making multi-strand, stash-busting projects like say: our Big Beautiful Basket: ruclips.net/video/NzQmkNuruas/видео.html our Scrap Blanket: ruclips.net/video/y2Gln0u9H08/видео.html or even a Market Bag like this one: ruclips.net/video/oUP7gAb_4zM/видео.html

A very good stitch choice when working with a bulky yarn, especially for a hat! 😊

How do I select the yarn thread size?? Cuz I'm having a hard time deciding and wanted to get started on this project.
Hi! I used chunky weight (size 5) for this, but size 4 is ok too.

Your welcome.
Did I miss another live??? Had a little dilemma here this am.
Hi Kim, nope, not yet 💗
I have a question. Let’s say you have way too much yarn and your not making enough hats or other things… do you donate the extra yarn or what?
If you've got yarn you no longer want you can donate it or give it to friends who are just starting out with crochet or knitting. You can use it as stuffing for other little stuffed toy projects. If you're running out of room to keep it, but still want to crochet, you might want to think about making multi-strand, stash-busting projects like say:
our Big Beautiful Basket: ruclips.net/video/NzQmkNuruas/видео.html
our Scrap Blanket: ruclips.net/video/y2Gln0u9H08/видео.html
or even a Market Bag like this one: ruclips.net/video/oUP7gAb_4zM/видео.html
Nope didn't
