I got a 1992 482v bass master classic boat had almost its whole life and she been garaged its whole life . Love it and try to keep it up to date like new ones
Redoing a ‘91 361v with a Johnson 150 Fast Strike. Ranger makes solid boats, way better than my ‘98 Nitro I restored and just sold. Sad part is Ranger factory stopped selling original parts since covid started. Deck lids had stickers for all electronics and wiring was simple to redo. Now tackling the Johnson since they removed the VRO…. Almost done, then will focus on detailing gel coat. Your dads boat is motivating me to finish!
I recently bought a 1994 Ranger 374v and I'm in the process of bringing it back to life. It was also well kept. The first thing I did was install a new Ultrex. Now I'm working on shinning up the gel coat. It's about the same color as your dad's just more white. I'm going to enjoy this project about as much as your dad did.
I have 90 model ranger 363v kenny rodgers classic I'm fixin to restore. My dad bought off a guy and put in the shed 10 years ago. I contacted ranger and they sent me the original invoice for the boat. It is #2 of the production of that special edition. Your brother looks great you can't beat the ride of those old rangers.
I love older rangers. Great boat restoration. I want to add my thoughts. I would have added an extended deck right down the middle to almost the consoles. with an added compartment like the new rangers have. Second, I would put Bob's machine works jack plate and raise that motor up to best performance and lock it down. Next, Fury, or Tempest prop 3-blade: get a pitch that gives most speed out of this girl. Next, one can fix that fuel issue and put new higher performance carbs and reeds on it; porting exhaust as well. I also would have got the newer ranger seats with middle step that folds up as an extra seat. Thats it. Boat would likely run about 62 mph, with load, and 2 adults. 67 mph with one person, 1/4 tank of gas, no gear. Getting higher performance parts for that motor is a plus as mentioned before. One other thing, change that impellor. But since this is a budget build; great job. My suggestions would add another let's say 4k additions to it, but would perform better as long as the motor is NOT too worn out....
She's a beautiful boat. Still looks better than most newer ones. I'm looking at a 390v right now that's in good shape and a Winner Tournament. The Winner I want and is dual console but it's overpriced.
I just bought a 1985 350v real solid but im going to have to do some wet sanding and buffing put a 112lb fortrex on it and getting ready to put a couple of humminbird helix 7 on it
I've got a 88 374v and mine looks almost exactly like your dads. I've got a full bench seat for the driver/passenger but I like the 2 separate chairs with the side storage on his. Mine was also sitting in a garage for 12 years and still has the original carpet, similar color to your dads and the gel coat still looks great. Mine has a 98 Rude 150hp on it and pushes me 61mph by myself. I've got 3 14gal fuel tanks though but I'm gonna tear out the Aux tank. I have no need for 3 fuel tanks and would love to get rid of the weight. Nice job!!!
I had that very model down to the color of trailer, but had gray carpet throughout boat, and had the factory overstuffed bench seat. 1989 model with 175 black max with 12" jackplate, custom as prop, and overhauled with all the tricks done to it, with muffler deleted, it move across like no ones business. Ran extremely well, and with the ranger hull design and flotation system from back then, you couldn't ask for a better ride at any speed, in any type of water conditions. Smooth as any elite champion, are bass cat ever made. Makes me wish I never let it go, but something's are just beyond our control in life. But you've done excellent job refreshing her, but find the old bench seat for her. Then you'll know what riding in luxury is all about in a bass boat. Enjoy her, she's a great boat, and she'll never let you down either.
Just got the 88 393v. Having a bear of a time tryinf to find a good place for the lowrance eagle 9. W the V haul and stepped back, its been difficult tryinf to find the place where i dont get turbulence or interference on it.
That’s the shit! Just bought one. Good shape.....not as good as your dads, but my buddy used it 4 times in 5 years. Got a Damn good deal on it. Carpet new, seats new.....gotta get it clear coated. Awesome project. Thanks for inspirational video. Your dad is of like mind. That is cool !
I’m trying to restore a mid 80’s ranger 330v my grandpa gave it to me. After taking a shop vac to it I realized it needs new carpet. I wanna bring that sparkle shine back too. It’s all oxidized too
After watching this video, I decided to give a 1988 Kingfisher 19hpv a shot. Was worth the $$. Maybe I’ll see you out on one of the Ohio lakes this year.
You can't beat a 300 series ranger for ride , wish I still had my 89 , 354 with that mariner mag 2 on it . It would run low 70s and was the smoothest riding boat I've owned .
Hello. I have a similar boat a 375v 1882. I have the two fuel tanks on the sides and also have two smaller plastic containers in the center right below the engine filled with blue stuff looks like oil. Does this mean that my Mercury is oil injected and if it is, do i still need to add the oil mixed with my fuel? Sorry, i know nothing about boats or engines im new to this. Thank you guys great video. Omar.
Have restored a couple older Tuffy’s great multi species boats, but now in the Hunt for a early model Ranger. Looking forward to it! Great to see this boat!
Great looking boat your dad did a really good job on it love them older rangers you no it's bad when today a boat coast more than my house did every things going up but damn wages ....
Nice i have a 390v 19 love it i also have some upated goodys on her mine needs carpet and an seat skins i have the bench seat that im definitely keeping my carbs also leak alittle but they say they are supposed to do that its gonna be a lil work but best thing about it its paid off. Love it to death
I have the exact boat. I've run into one issue. Motor runs great once it is warmed up, but it's a booger to keep running cold. My question, is there a way to give it gas at start without engaging prop. A idle adjuster
Great looking old Ranger, he did a great job on it. Im curious about what those screws were going down each side of the boat were for. They are below the rubrail along the ranger stripes.
Great boat! I did the exact same diamond plating on the trailer of my 1989 Ranger 396V, not to mention installing the Ultrex and NOCO charger as well. Very familiar restoring a similar old Ranger, and what a solid boat it has been.

I just bought the exact same boat to restore.
Found a 374V last week

Sounds like you have plenty to get looking good. Take your time and be creative she will come out great. Thanks for the kinds words.

Wanted to post again, I completed my remodel. They are good boats.
Awesome job.. my boat is a 90 and didn't cost much but the fish don't seem to care!!! Your dad is very handy with his talent..

It was pretty easy! Just trace it drill a cpl pilot holes and use a jig saw. Thanks!

I just bought the same boat. What model seat pedestal fits this boat? Any help would be appreciated! Nice boat!
Hey Eric. I will try amd find out!
Love your dads boat what a awesome job he done. Tightlines pal.

He actually has since put a newer motor on it! Im sorry I wish I could help more.
The whole throttle handle should pull out sideways from the side of the boat towards the interior. Then you can throttle it up in neutral.
Great looking old Ranger, he did a great job on it. Im curious about what those screws were going down each side of the boat were for. They are below the rubrail along the ranger stripes.
Im pretty sure those were snap buttons for a canvas boat cover
Looks great!👍
Thanks!
Kevin’s boat looks awesome!! I saw the boat prior to upgrades. Wonderful job!!
Thank you aunt Shell
Great job, had one myself and rue the day I traded it in for a Skeeter.
Nothin wrong with a skeeter!
Great boat! I did the exact same diamond plating on the trailer of my 1989 Ranger 396V, not to mention installing the Ultrex and NOCO charger as well. Very familiar restoring a similar old Ranger, and what a solid boat it has been.
Thank you! He is excited!
