For the people commenting about the matchmaking, keep in mind this was released on May 30th, 2015, way back when Splatoon had just been released! And plus, the video is just fun, 31 kills anywhere is pretty darn good.
This video was a bit disappointing..I wasn't expecting you to be going up against low level players. I'm pretty sure if any other experienced players ended up in a room full of newbies, they'll have no problem getting 31 kills or so...especially on this particular map

Anyone that dislikes this video clearly doesn't understand how competitive shooters work. Spawn trapping the opponent allows the remainder of your team to easily fulfill the objective. Don't play any form of PvP game if you dislike losing so much. The other team wasn't good either since they let a single roller get all the way up there and kill them so much. He was playing intelligently, even if it was campy. It worked and they weren't good enough to counter it. Good stuff Samu.
***** The weapon/loadout that Samu is using is one of the very early rollers. Those lower level guys have access to it. They just aren't very good. Levels have nothing to do with skill.
My very first game of Splatoon I ever played I got 11 kills I believe, with other low to mid 10s in the lobby. Levels don't mean anything if you actually know how to aim your weapon and move around. And yes you can still be a bad level 20. All it means is that you have access to better gear. Levels aren't indicative of skill. Rank is. Halos Reach and 4 as well as the Call of Duties have this issue. (Bad SR130s anyone?) "Experience" doesn't mean you're good. A low level can know what they're doing if they just have basic shooter mechanics, which carry over.
***** Biased or not, it doesn't prove my points wrong. That is how you play objectives in shooters. You use one or more of your teammates to spawn trap while you secure the objective. It's a game of Keep Away. Why let your opponents get a free pass to your objective or contest you? To be a nice guy?
I know it's really dirty playstyle, because I'm just camping in there spawn point and not letting them run away. But that tells who is playing smart, these matches isn't about killing opponents, I know it, though it slows down them and gives my team advantage to ink everything in the map. Roller looks noob weapon, I have no chances against players who uses guns, sneak attacks works the best against those players and honestly I like to play like that, doing sneak attacks and surprise the opponent. So don't get killed guys and girls :P Smart player will use this as an advantage like me.
Ahh, back when nobody knew how to deal with rollers. Those were the days... ....A tiny part of me hopes that Lucas went on to become a great sniper someday.....
Its good that you got 31 kills but its very unfair that your a level 18 and there levels 1-9....If you were facing against people who are around your level...thats calm...see I got 27 kills and 3 deaths when playing Splatzones with people who are my ranking group...I still think that was totally unfair though...but its cool you got 31 kills...

Doing this is like telling the other players "I don't want you to have fun, I want this to be work for you" and it is obnoxious in any online multiplayer game. The fact that he got to their spawn with a melee-only weapon while the entire team had long-ranged weapon ( including what seems to be a sniper, I haven't played the game yet ) clearly show that the other team was just terrible, they literally have no excuse for this. Plus if you don't want to deal with it, stop playing video games, players that want to win will use anything accessible to them, especially if it's really annoying or hard to deal with, he's exploiting the other team weakness like he should be doing because that actually manage to help his team winning in the end, if his strategy ain't broken, he have no reason to fix it, it's up to the other team to learn how to deal with it. Few things to point out. This video was published the day after the game was released. Everyone is litterally between 1/5th and 1/9th Samura1man's level. Everyone is in the starter gear besides Samura1man's, its the only roller and lets face it, rollers are abit OP anyway, yes it was spawn camping. This being said, playing against higher leveled players with better gear and more practice and op weapons makes you a better player and spawn camping, while possibly a cheap move is a perfectly reasonable tactic. Dont want to be spawncamped, then dont let the enemy get close enough to do so or learn how to get out of it. My favorite part is 2:56 when Samura1man releases the Kraken on the entire team, you now at that moment, gamestop just bought back 4 copies of the game.

This reminds me of a time when I was running Turf War on Kelp Dome and my entire had them spawn locked after covering the entire map in our color of ink. One player got smart and decided to make in-roads with their roller, but I chased them down. We ended winning 82.4%-9.9%. Granted they had three chargers and a roller, but they sat at their spawn point for almost the entire match. Word to the wise: Don't sit at your spawn point, even when you are surrounded and have a charger.
Ah this takes me back to some recent matches I had in Arowana Mall where I sat on one of the ledges in the center spending most of my time camping the little central area while spamming bombs over to the opponents' side and just making their lives miserable. That rare time I actually decide to gloat over how much fun I was having!
This was awesome! I honestly believe you got really lucky and was dealt with a bunch of not so great gunners cuz had that been a skilled rapid fire shooter you'd been outta there a while ago. But still gotta give it to ya, that was nice!
God, that was brutal. Nice. Matchmaking really fucked over their team, though. I wish it was a little bit more strict on keeping levels similar across teams.
As a competitive Splatoon 2 player, it hurts seeing people run into a roller who is rolling. Also it’s painful watching them go for all the small areas of unturfed ground at the very start
It's unfortunate that these players will probably learn that krakon is op, instead of that krakon is easily countered by just keeping some distance and paying attention to your surroundings...
Stumbled upon this, pure spawn kill Which isn't fun, whether you do it or receive it I'm quite disappointed to see no more skill than regular parties in this video so, a few tips to prevent getting spawn killed : 1- Equipment with splash damage (no pun intended) is very useful to get rid of several enemies at once or at least scare them off. 2- Create a path, an opening you can exploit and rush into the enemy territory. Stay wary from attacks, you have to get their attention long enough to allow your teammates to spread on the map. 3- With the sniper, you can create a straight line pretty far away, use it to escape the cluster of players, gain some distance and, once in an advantageous position, snipe the ones remaining near your spawn point. 4- Use every bit of "safe" unpaint territory to charge your ult and blast your way out of this mess. Just following these can get you out of many spawn kill situations, remember that the weapon determine the damage you do and a paint bullet is a paint bullet, no matter the player's level.
I disliked this video. It's not because you camp there on their spawnpoint. It's because you played against noobs. Believe, I think everyone, who has played Splatoon for some time, could have made more then 20 kills too. (Btw. Sorry for my bad english, I'm not an english native speaker. ^^")

You're never going to see this amount of kills in normal turf war these days since everyone is so skilled... Thus everyone knowing defensive and offensive tactics to balance out kills and getting killed
I really don't understand the "BUT YOU WERE A HIGHER LEVEL" comments. All that levels effect in this game is what weapons and gear you can unlock. You can easily lead your teams score in turf inked and kills with a Splattershot Jr. Levels mean nothing in this game.
Hannah-Alyssa It shows how much time some people have had to spend playing the game. They either just bought the game and are playing it the first time, or still learning and trying new things. Also keep in mind little kids might play this game (despite how much of the actual audience are young adults and such). I remember not knowing I could use a special till level 6, or super jump till level 8(and I'm a man of 20 years old). Some people pick up on things quicker than others, and that's great. but not everyone is quick to get every little detail. Is this John necessary for the team in this video? yes and no(depending how you see it). I'm just saying, no one's perfect.

no, I would rather everyone plays the objective instead of just camping one spot. In sports they have rules to prevent this kind of behaviour.

Few things to point out. This video was published the day after the game was released. Everyone is litterally between 1/5th and 1/9th Samura1man's level. Everyone is in the starter gear besides Samura1man's, its the only roller and lets face it, rollers are abit OP anyway, yes it was spawn camping. This being said, playing against higher leveled players with better gear and more practice and op weapons makes you a better player and spawn camping, while possibly a cheap move is a perfectly reasonable tactic. Dont want to be spawncamped, then dont let the enemy get close enough to do so or learn how to get out of it. My favorite part is 2:56 when Samura1man releases the Kraken on the entire team, you now at that moment, gamestop just bought back 4 copies of the game.

This reminds me of a time when I was running Turf War on Kelp Dome and my entire had them spawn locked after covering the entire map in our color of ink. One player got smart and decided to make in-roads with their roller, but I chased them down. We ended winning 82.4%-9.9%. Granted they had three chargers and a roller, but they sat at their spawn point for almost the entire match. Word to the wise: Don't sit at your spawn point, even when you are surrounded and have a charger.
Ah this takes me back to some recent matches I had in Arowana Mall where I sat on one of the ledges in the center spending most of my time camping the little central area while spamming bombs over to the opponents' side and just making their lives miserable. That rare time I actually decide to gloat over how much fun I was having!

This was awesome! I honestly believe you got really lucky and was dealt with a bunch of not so great gunners cuz had that been a skilled rapid fire shooter you'd been outta there a while ago. But still gotta give it to ya, that was nice!

Matchmaking really fucked over their team, though. I wish it was a little bit more strict on keeping levels similar across teams.

As a competitive Splatoon 2 player, it hurts seeing people run into a roller who is rolling. Also it’s painful watching them go for all the small areas of unturfed ground at the very start

Which isn't fun, whether you do it or receive it
I'm quite disappointed to see no more skill than regular parties in this video so, a few tips to prevent getting spawn killed :
1- Equipment with splash damage (no pun intended) is very useful to get rid of several enemies at once or at least scare them off.
2- Create a path, an opening you can exploit and rush into the enemy territory. Stay wary from attacks, you have to get their attention long enough to allow your teammates to spread on the map.
3- With the sniper, you can create a straight line pretty far away, use it to escape the cluster of players, gain some distance and, once in an advantageous position, snipe the ones remaining near your spawn point.
4- Use every bit of "safe" unpaint territory to charge your ult and blast your way out of this mess.
Just following these can get you out of many spawn kill situations, remember that the weapon determine the damage you do and a paint bullet is a paint bullet, no matter the player's level.
Spawnkill is easy though. But congratulations for 31 kills ! I never did so 😅

I disliked this video. It's not because you camp there on their spawnpoint.
It's because you played against noobs. Believe, I think everyone, who has played Splatoon for some time, could have made more then 20 kills too.

kinda feel bad that people are saying that this is isn't interesting and stuff... like yeah i mean they are pretty low level but i wouldn't hate on this just because showing off a kill combo is "boring"
You're never going to see this amount of kills in normal turf war these days since everyone is so skilled... Thus everyone knowing defensive and offensive tactics to balance out kills and getting killed
I really don't understand the "BUT YOU WERE A HIGHER LEVEL" comments. All that levels effect in this game is what weapons and gear you can unlock. You can easily lead your teams score in turf inked and kills with a Splattershot Jr. Levels mean nothing in this game.
Hannah-Alyssa It shows how much time some people have had to spend playing the game. They either just bought the game and are playing it the first time, or still learning and trying new things. Also keep in mind little kids might play this game (despite how much of the actual audience are young adults and such). I remember not knowing I could use a special till level 6, or super jump till level 8(and I'm a man of 20 years old). Some people pick up on things quicker than others, and that's great. but not everyone is quick to get every little detail. Is this John necessary for the team in this video? yes and no(depending how you see it). I'm just saying, no one's perfect.

Ink campers can be so annoying at times. Other times it gets me unexpected splats.
