I'd love to hear that guitar version... I always enjoy when we get to hear older versions of songs that show the evolution of a song from the beginning stages of writing & demoing, all the way to the final album version. It's fun to see how much a song can change from start to finish.
Even without hearing that version if Cyr, I bet the guitar version would be really cool to revisit for the band when they get back to playing live shows. There's just something about the guitar in that live setting... the energy is just incomparable to other instruments when it comes to the connection from the audience to the musician. It's unfortunate that modern day radio doesn't have the same love for guitar driven music like many of us still do & always will. But I guess you just have to play their game if you want any chance for your music to exposed to new fans.

Billy Corgan is the best SONG WRITER and Singer Ever. The Smashing Pumpkins will always be apart of me. Grew up in the 90s.. seen them about 40 times. Lollapalooza 94 in new Orleans, was the best performance ever!! Billy jumped into the crowd and I surfed the crowd right with him ... They will always be the best band and part of me ever

I think the message is getting out there, albeit slowly and with much resistance. Music is a great platform and the lyrics can truly inspire and lift people higher, its power to transform and inform or make people rethink all of the societal norms and break down the false paradigms is immediate. I'm rocking the beard too this year Billy, it looks good on you man, just let it continue to grow as your music does!

Not a fan of the song but of the desire to explore.
Unfortunately there wasn't an outside producer to say yeah this is an ok song but put it in the b-pile or put it over here and show me what else you got or write something else then we can decide on whether a song like Cyr stands up to real scrutiny.
That authority of a strong outside producer has been heavily missed in the band for many years.
