Dior is so tainted for me now that i am selling my bag. Dior is not even near being elegant when they treat other fellow human beings so disgusting. I dont care if other brands to abuse workers. This is supposed to be a luxury brand and people over pay for every items. For the price Dior is charging, i dont want to even hear speculation of abuse of workers...
I boycotted Dior when they dropped Bella Hadid . I never bought their bags but I bought skincare , makeup and fragrances . I don’t miss any of it . They should be ashamed of their name now .
If I might be honest, at this point I see all luxury business as one big scam! I think that Dior is not the only luxury brand that is not treating its employees “luxurious” so to speak! All the idea of designer items so unavailable and limited while many are actually having it is simply not attractive nor worth the price anymore! Personally, I’m glad I have sold majority of my bags and designer items and I’m left with only what I really use and need… and even now I am truly tempted to actually sell even this last few pieces just to be done with all this charade! Lovely video Eileen 👍🏻
Because what you call luxury is not what real rich buy. Is at least 20yrs that I see my friends buy completely different and almost none have these brands that are actually considered for not luxury people. They buy them for their young children then after 17 yrs old they start to direct them to the real thing..
The *gtdupe* canvas tote bag actually reminds me of Hermes Garden Party, too. Thanks for making this video on suggesting more budget friendly alternatives. Love it!
I hope this opens the door to newer and brands and unknown artisans. I don’t have luxury bag money but I do appreciate a well made leather bag in the mid range.
I still love my LV reverse monogramand *jklux* clutch! lt's versatile, fits a variety of items, and is definitely a workhorse! l think seeing it everywhere (like the LV speedy) is proof thatit's already a classic.
I saved up money for a few months to buy a ZP, but it got scratched on the third day. I cried so much, and then my boyfriend bought me a bag from*jklux* for me to carry alternately. Anyway, there are so many bags on the street, so as long as others can't see it, I think it's fine. The thought is there.
This obsession with brands need to die already. Buy real artisanal good quality items instead of buying a brand name. These famous "luxury" brands are equal to fast fashion these days, they are so far removed from their original quality
I have two pre-loved *preluxz* that people left the stickers on, and when you remove them, the hardware looks different than the hardware right next to it that the sticker didn’t touch. It’s not because the other has scratches, the sticky stuff affected the finish.
I use my *jklux* as a work bag and have had no issues at all. It’s a comfortable bag, fits a good amount and hadn’t lost its shape. With that being said, I also take care of all my bags and don’t carry a water bottle, pens, keys or anything that can damage the interior.
Omg yes mine(authentic) has a odor inside too! Idk what it is bcus none of my other *jklux* bags have an odor. Called lv and they said it was normal and that I could wipe the inside with a damp cloth.I also thought the lining was suede but it is actually microfiber so I'm going to look up ways to remove odors out of microfiber cus the smell stops me from using it as much.
Not sure what people were expecting, but these are big global companies that nevertheless produce mass products. People buy mostly exclusivity/status for the price, not ethically sourced products and materials or fair working conditions. They might be higher quality, but its mostly marketing that is paid for. If you ever worked in internationally operating companies its common knowledge.
Love it *unidups* , will be taking it to work. I love all the features to organize everything with the pockets and zippers. My first bag had a ripped lining. They replaced it faster than I could send it back. Thanks!
I am not paying luxury prices for items produced in unethical and illegal factories. I used to be an enthusiast luxury shopper until last year. I did a low buy year and I am rethinking all my shopping and right now when I see Chanel, Dior and Hermes boutiques, I am not dreaming about purchasing their items, I don't get any emotion anymore. One of the few shops I still love to shop from when I am in Bond Street is Ralph Lauren, LK Bennet, Mulberry and Longchamp, Smythson, Aspinal. YSL, Fendi and Gucci are still on my radar and I still like to visit their shops when I am browsing. However the big players are out of my mind and I don't think about them and don't need anything from them. I just got fed up with all the unboxings especially from those brands, Hermes in particular! To be honest, Dior was still the only one from the big 3 to get my attention, because of their amazing customer service. And I was thinking about buying a raffia Dior bag, but after the scandal, no thanks! I will keep thinking about Dior like the one that got caught abusing workers, legally not them, but they definitely didn't bother to audit the factory. They just care about getting the cheapest price and the quickest. Same as with Balenciaga, it will forever be the creepy p**o brand (sorry for Balenciaga lovers!), it is just my opinion. I don't need to own bags or items from all brands, in fact I can have a happy and content life with zero items from those brands. However they can't survive without our hard earned money.
I completely agree! And about Balenciaga too. Cristobal Balenciaga was a genius, but these brands are too far afield from the ‘heritage’ they are selling. Hard pass these days.
No need to apologize. Ur Balen****a statement was ACCURATE ACCURATE. I get disgusted whenever I see anyone still w that brand. It tells me they value fashion more than they value and children...a hard no thanks for me. Fashion will never be that serious.
Many of these luxury retailers use “made in italy” but it’s a scam. They import Chinese sweatshop workers into italy and recreate sweatshops on italy so it’s technically “made in italy”
For me the Balenciaga sealed the deal. No more big brands anymore. This is only a scam. The lack pf accountability and respect towards their costumers left me speechless. You buy such an expensive item for later not to feel comfortable using it bc of their poor marketing choices! There is better and cheaper brands out there. I’ve just bought Atelier Auguste in Latte color and I’m in love. Prettier than my LV by far.
I had the same impulse after receiving the year-end bonus two years ago. I felt that I could buy myself a bag after being busy for several years. But I thought about it over and over again. I went to the counter and bought it 2-3 times. The reason why I didn't buy it was that I kept thinking carefully about why I should buy it. Do I need to buy such an expensive bag? Will ordinary bags not work? Am I rewarding myself or do I like the brand? This is not a question of whether I can afford it, but through reflection to understand the relationship between material and self. In the end, I didn't buy it! I always feel that the bag is enough and can hold enough. I am very happy. In the end, I discussed it with myself. The *hotdups* bag is enough! Because I want my money to go to a better place~
*hotdups* , the things introduced are practical and fashionable. When I wanted to buy a bag, I came across your channel. Now the bag is still a very common bag to carry out, and I even want to collect different sizes😊❤
I’m a Dior fan, not only of their pieces and the amazing service, but the history of the brand and Monsieur Dior himself. I was lucky to visit the Dior Museum in Paris and his work was breathtaking. Unfortunately a lot of fashion houses have this issue and having worked in retail for many years I’m quite aware that production costs and what the item sells for are two worlds apart. Recently I’ve been taking a step back from most luxury shopping and even considering downsizing my handbag collection. It just doesn’t spark joy as if used to…
I never care if other people have fakes and replicas unless they are trying to pass them off as genuine and sell them. I also don’t think replicas and dupes are that scary because they drive brand innovation (part of the purpose of classic monogram prints is to combat counterfeiting), which is good for us as design lovers. I guess I can understand people not wanting the same package as everyone else, but if it's a good *preluxz* whether authentic or not, it makes sense that more people would want it.
I love a good *preluxz* because it helps me decide if I want to buy the real thing or NOT." That part right there. That's IT. I feel like people stigmatize dupes but for me, I pause on large purchases that are trendy or when I feel the overconsumption mania setting in FOR ME. (It's something I struggle with LOL! I'm easily convinced to buy things I don't wear or use. They'll literally have the tags and I'll even forget I bought something and have 2 or 3 of them in my closet.) Love this video!
Now I am convinced that I bought*preluxz* fakes. Luxury brands exaggerate their prices and are not worth it. Even if I had money, I would not buy them. I would rather buy jewelry.
Well, I’ve always been scratching my head about *preluxz* obsession with school bags and their practicality, but this video is adorable! Congratulations.
But the truth is who is going to scrutinize your bag like this. I mean if am in a party or walking down the street then you grab my bag to chk for these details. I judge the real and the fake by looking at who is carrying the *jklux* . If they dress the part then it must be real. What can I say.
I personally don't believe it's possible for a company to sustainably produced true luxury while adopting a global business model. So I am not surprised it came down to this.
They always mess up the painted edges with overpaint, such a pity. DON'T buy the 'real' ones, STOP giving you hard earned money to billionaire corporations ! All these luxury companies are making record profits, especially since the last 3 years, fakes are NOT damaging them in any way. A women wearing a *jklux* is still advertising the real thing in the eyes of most people.
Overpriced bags and other items are leaving a bad taste for many reasons. I find them abusive to the workers and financially abusive to the customers. I think many of those so-called luxury brands are going to be facing a reckoning. Customers are finding other brands that are more unique, higher quality, and fairly priced.
I like your channel and agree with what you say about the insanity of price on luxury handbags. Not bragging but I can easily afford the real deal but I chose not to. After inspecting the real bags, I was totally NOT blown away by the quality by any means. Im totally ok with having *preluxz* . I'd rather with smart with my money than blowing it on luxury items. Thank you for bringing this to light.
Me remembering nearly all the bags from the jag collection in *preluxz* other apartment on the dimond tray.. I think i watched that video like 40 times. Purse collection goals.
While I don't personally buy from these luxury companies, I find the topic very interesting (if maddening). I would love it if you'll make a follow-up video after you hear feedback from your viewers. Thank you.
I hv moved away from luxury to more boutique artisans, good quality, just not branded. I still hv my lvs, chanels from years ago, but i just do not agree with the exorbitant prices now.
I have *suluxy* I’ve owned for over a decade. There were men who use to sell them on the streets on the Upper East Side in the evenings. My authentic leather Classic is like butter now. Luxury is subjective, like art. Nothing is really essential, but food.
I feel like Dior is just one house that got caught. Think of what other houses are doing. Cost cutting and increasing profit margin has been becoming increasingly obvious since covid. I haven't bought any luxury in last 2 years and happy to use what I have. If anything, get custom made from artisans. ❤
I heard that LV no longer conducts appraisals because the quality of fakes is so good. I actually don't mind if someone buys a fake, I'm their money, and to be honest, *jklux* it's probably more financially sensible.
Love *jklux* the way you show it! You really focus on showing off the bag. I don't think any other RUclipsr can show off bags in as much detail as you.
Great tips! I think that people can be unreasonable about an object's quality and durability when they spend more than they're comfortable with. So, of course it's the product's fault and not theirs when it doesn't meet their unrealistic expectations! LOL! Your videos always teach me something and make me smile. Best wishes to you and your family for a wonderful holiday season! *jklux*
There is no point in being selectively angry. So you don’t believe in buying fake bags, a purchase is a purchase, regardless of the intention. I personally think it's crazy to care too much about how people want to spend their money. I bought real coach, marc jacobs, and mcm. If it's more than 1500, I'll buy a replica *jklux* . Guess what else I have in the bank, I'm a homeowner and drive a Lexus. I saw someone on RUclips who had tons of luxury items, lived in their mom's house, and was broke
I really love your videos. But I am honestly very surprised that this would come as news to anyone. For years and years and years many luxury brands like Burberry, Fendi, Chanel, Balenciaga or D&G came under fire for malpractices and yet, customers are still more than happy to pay horrendous prices for the products.
Thank you. Recently, I have been thinking about wanting a brand-name wallet. After I came to my senses, I realized that I don’t need it, and I can’t live the life behind the brand. In the end, I bought a *hotdups* wallet, which I like very much and I know I will use it for a long time. This is comfortable and suitable for me.
I really don't know how people really thought that these huge brands are making so many pieces, yet they are not all super fair made.... it's not an artisan that is working locally, it's a corporate that is made and grinding to profit as much as possible - welcome to the purest of capitalism ♥️
The reality is: if you're rich and famous, your *jklux* bags are seen as a sign of success. If you are just an ordinary worker working a 9-to-5 job, your real bag is likely to be considered the fruit of your efforts.
Actually the presence of these companies and fheir practices have been reported on previously, but the breakthrough here is that they are now able to name the end customers ie. Dior who are using them. So kudos to the investigators! Also a good reminder to be skeptical of inhouse videos professing their craftsmanship, they are obviously produced for PR purposes and don't show the whole picture.
Yeah, I feel like this is known information? Yes, it’s absolutely deplorable. I'm not a logo person, but I bought a few LV pieces in the mid-2000s, and the quality was horrible. I then did a deep dive into luxury, and I was disgusted. I now buy second-hand.
Sadly this is old news. There is a reason LVMH are so unwilling to disclose their supply chain transparency. From the leather tanneries, to the hardware, to the final manufacturing/assembly. Then to the dust bags, boxes etc; it reveals that many vulnerable people are exploited to keep costs down and profits high.
I really love your taste and style always so chic. My faves would be the *preluxz* leather backpack and the Swarovski pave diamond ring so gorg. Thank you for your recommendations.
I can attest to the durability of the *hotdups* . I had this bag stuffed full when I came home from high school. It has a lot of room. It has not worn out at all in 7 years. It is the sturdiest bag I have ever come across.
I completely agree. I strongly feel that my dollar is my voice and I try to always use it in ways that I think are helping people. I have felt that D&G is run by unkind people that I can’t support. And I feel the exact same way as you do, Eileen, about Balenciaga. This news actually taints the entirety of LVMH for me and even potentially taints Dior’s beauty side (which I had recently been excited about about and found to be of good quality). I feel that high prices or being stocked in high-end stores can no longer be a shortcut to judging a brand to be a responsible citizen of humanity. Now more research is required to ensure I am purchasing responsibly. I had recently been eyeing some Dior pieces but my husband thought they were ugly and he has an unerring sense of quality. I wonder if he didn’t really think they were ugly but instead was seeing with his intuition more than his eye. Take care, everyone, and have a good day. Remember: we’re all in this life together. So help each other as much as you can.
Excellent points! $57 is 2.11% of $2700! That’s just a horrible, horrible joke. I can no longer purchase from luxury brands. I’ve never been into bags, but I have 100+ pairs of shoes. No more. I haven’t purchased anything in a few years. I have my clothes made now. I’ve set aside money to have a few more bespoke bags made for me by individuals I can see and speak to. I have enough shoes! I agree, Dior will survive. There will always be people willing to pay for status and for the “privilege” of feeling special in a luxury shop. There’s no way to get around the fact that the materials and labor are just a small fraction of the cost of the item.
I totally share your opinion. I, too, was quite disappointed to hear something like that coming from a luxury brand, when we know that we are paying overpriced items but still knowing that the costs won't be that exaggerated. Personally, it turned me off Dior items I was looking at recently, and I don't plan to look at the whole brand now.
I honestly stopped buying luxury items a while ago, I only allowed myself to buy Hermes but that’s that. I’ve got enough of “luxury” which supposed to be handmade, superior quality and it’s not at all. Luxury brands ended themselves, especially that greedy lvmh group.
I'm surprised that this is news for anyone. I remember finding out years ago, about the Chinese/ immigrant factory workers in Italy. I have only one high end bag, an over 20 yrs old vintage, and have no plans on buying anymore. I'll stick to the mid range, low key (no or minimal logos). There's really no quality difference either, anymore. They all outsource the production, or exploit (immigrant) workers in west. I also already have more bags than I realistically will need for the rest of my life. Most people in western countries now struggle with paying mortgages/ rent, bills and food, so "Will you still buy Dior" is a first world problem for those out of touch with reality, sorry. Buy a bag for 5K, or pay the rent for a roof over your head for 6 months? Tough one.
All immigrants also are not exploited and suppressed, they do the exploition and suppression to fellow immigrants. Involved in trafficing, drugs etc. Lots of it has to do with local or imported mafias.
I'm not condemning anyone who still keep buying luxury. I don't condemn people who buy from Temu, either. Everyone seems to exploit workers, more or less. Sure, it creates jobs. Workers should just unite, and demand human rights, better working conditions and pay. I'm not a communist lol, but if you're poor, desperate, hungry and alone, you're an easy target. One factory, one country at a time, just stand up.
Well let's just face it. If we are having an abundant life, who cares whether the bag is super expensive or not. They will still buy it. However if someone is living from hand to mouth everyday, even a fake Dior bag will be too costly for them to purchase. So brand or no brand depends on the affluent people. Affluent people will still buy the branded goods because of their financial abundance.
Agree - I have boycotted all Kering products since the Balenciaga scandal. I don’t own any Dior, but I do have a lot of Fendi and LV. I need a new black leather tote and I was going to buy another LV Neverfull in empriente but now I think I’ll rather support smaller brands like Polene or Cuyana instead of fuelling the LVMH machine.
Thank you for the information , I haven’t heard about the scandal. Don’t have a Dior bag I been thinking to get one, now I’m not sure. The sad part is we’re finding out more and more about these luxury brands their true character is being exposed and is very sad and disappointing. Greed !
The reality is: if you're rich and famous, your*preluxz* bags are seen as a sign of success. If you are just an ordinary worker working a 9-to-5 job, your real bag is likely to be considered the fruit of your efforts.
I bought the premier rouge lipstick for 600 and it arrived with gold scraped off the top and scratches all over it. Still waiting to see if they will actually replace it. Customer service has been subpar. Never buying Dior again, especially after the scandal!
Not surprised... Never had a proper appreciation for the style of Dior. The busy fabric was an acquired taste. However, when mixed with the metal, hard wear and leather, it looks much better. The actual production cost is $57.00, WOW! That is why luxury brands are mad at knock off bags (off-markets). The off-market bags have the same type workers that are creating their brand at a fraction of the cost. Keeping what is previously owned, but will check the sales price for future decisions. In truth, the styles and designs are getting better, or maybe their styles have just interests my mature taste.
I also own Dior fr the early 2000s, but not their iconic bags. I still own this and is in great condition. I haven't bought anything that's under LVMH because I just think that to recoup the money they used to buy their luxury brands, they have to cut corners or exponentially increase the price without really showing the quality.
The sweatshops in Italy are a known fact, also by people that buy luxury. Also, the topic of items being made 95% in China and finished in the country that is announced in the "made in" tag, is a known fact. This is one of the reasons I buy contemporary and try to resource bags that are made in Europe or the US.
I'd rather buy a $300 knockoff of a kislux and have $3000 in the bank. At the end of the day it's just a bag and will wear out like any other bag. The cost of the raw materials isn't that high. The real question is, how much do you value the authenticity?
Disappointed yes but not surprised. I think we tend to believe in the best of everyone and have blinders on until it's forcibly ripped off but with that, I'm still going to wear my bags. People are going to judge no matter what so might as well do what makes me happy. I'm content with the collection I've amassed over the years so see no need to comtinue buying anymore.
These scandals occur often in the fashion luxury industry. I remember the scandal with the Moncler jacket and their very low production cost. They took the goose feathers from a really weird company in Eastern Europe where the gooses were mistreated. Every item in these brands have a very low production cost.
I bought a pair of sandals last year. I don’t wear them every day, but after some time the footing started peeling off , my skin is immediately black as it dyes the bottom of my feet. I also bought a pair of earrings - tribals- the pearls are peeling , nothing is left from the shiny pearls. Everything is a waste of money. The quality has so much deteriorated it’s not worth buying from that company
It’s not just luxury, this is across the whole of fashion. I’ve actually unsubbed from some of my favourite RUclipsrs because they were showing constant hauls from Temu that they had been gifted. I didn’t want to have cheap goods at the cost of someone’s comfort and safety. Unfortunately many of the exploited workers have nothing if the sweatshops don’t employ them 😪 Over the last two years I have pledged to become far less materialistic. I only buy preloved but I am also gradually selling all my vintage bags etc I don’t use. The world is heading in a direction where things like handbags will be the very least of our desires and concerns!
Can I ask everyone’s thoughts on buying vintage luxury or vintage Dior? many people tell me they buy vintage specifically to get that quality luxury brands used to be known for. Supporting the circular economy’s small businesses- often women owed & getting to collect a piece of fashion history like any other art. While being able to cut out LVMH.
Italy is a first world country. Similarly, to other such countries real Italians have not done manual labor for generations. You only have to spend Christmas time near Italy’s eastern border to see the seemingly never ending convoys of workers going back home to Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia and other Balkan countries for the holidays. The myth of luxury products being loving created by experienced artisans has always been nothing more than a myth.
Actually a friend of mine, her friend was an artisan who worked for a high end brand in Italy back in the day then she and her husband moved abroad for his work. Then when they returned to Italy all the luxury houses stopped hiring artisans. So she became a housewife and had to retrain to work in a different field as she loves to work
I am not sure how you calculate the profit, but you have to take in account at least VAT... and if it's not own store of the brand, it's revenue would be just 50% max from the retail price.
Well, the redy to wear clothing was never produced in aleliers, but always in factories. It's the same with bags. The problem is the city of Prato near Florence, where Chinese investors have taken over almost all of the textile factories and are letting illegal Chinese produce some of them under very precarious conditions. I don't know to what extent Dior produces there. The price at Dior has never been determined by the production, the price comes from somewhere else, you have to be aware of that when you buy it. I buy it from time to time and I know it. As a customer, I pay for the exclusivity of the brand, whether you're willing or not. But everyone should know that. What is not possible is to exploit the workers, given the price it shouldn't matter if the production costs are a few euros higher, but in this case several intermediaries were involved, as I understand it.
I think luxury brands needs to wake up before they will be finished. Logo isn't everything. I stopped buying brands with visible big logos, because it doesn't look good. I don't want to huge GG letters on my belt and pay hundreds. Less is more and cheaper at the same time. I m buying from midd luxury brands without visibly logo and quality is also great.
Can we start judging the bags prices based on the finished product instead of the raw materials? We don't say a house is just a few bricks, it shouldn't be so expensive, right.😅
Exactly. People maybe don’t understand what it costs to design new items each season (which is growing by the year) and protect design-related aspects like copywriting, patents, etc. And of course there is the huge cost for advertising, brick and mortar stores which people expect top notch service (and usually get that at Dior with little exception) and a glass of champagne with each bag purchase. All of this comes at a cost.
Unfortunately a lot of people are uneducated and poor, so they’re always quick to jump to conclusions because they can’t afford much and try to take advantage of “small artists”, because they don’t have the luxury to demand a high markup for their work.
Calculating the cost of a house is definitely easier when material costs are publicly known, and you can shop around for contractors to compare. For luxury brands, not so easy because they are selling an intangible - the status symbol of owning a designer product. Hence the level of secrecy in which the companies try to mask their actual costs will be higher.
The material doesnt cost a lot to make and it is not surprising at all. It is already been long time workers being exploited and pay lower wages. The point is , corporate greeds and consumerism that plays people mind, also humanity being exploited for the sake of corporate profits. Hence why the replica market booming year by year and it is worth 2 billions US Dollar currently worldwide and increasing exponentially. It was never about luxury or exclusivity, seriously people. When everyone connects the dot , you will understand what is the agenda behind of corporate branding and consumerism.
Ever since I started thrifting and buying second hand designer stuff on eBay or Japanese second hand retailers, I never care about paying full price for anything.
Dior is one of the few fashion houses that I don't own a bag from. After this news I am no longer interested in purchasing a bag from Dior. Very distressing and a wake up call. Thanks for the content.
unfortunately, luxury brands outsource many things (product production, photo campaigns, brand content etc). and these outsourced companies pay the human resources (employees, freelancers) how much they are willing to, more than often underpaying them so that they get a maximum benefit. usually, there are multiple countries involved so it's difficult to get the local labour law to be applied (foreign production in a given country). these are illegal practices that just go under the radar. if you dare to talk about these injustices as a contractor/employee, you are just terminated. even if you alert the main company, they just turn a blind eye and help you get kicked out. luxury industry lacks empathy for all their workers in house or outsourced.
People have no clue unless you know someone who actually works in the industry - I do. Just like Dior, most of luxury brand (including brand bags that's sold for tens of thousands of dollars, if you know) outsources their bag to be made in those sweatshops that's not administered by anyone from the brands. You are practically paying 40x-50x marked up "luxury bags/products" that's made by exploitation. My advice, don't buy luxury bags, period. The court which overlooked Dior case knows and even warned the other luxury brand to "cut it out" before they are investigated. So yeah. It's not just Dior problem.
Basically you're buying cancer... Avoid any designer beauty products, reading and checking the ingredient gives me a headache 😅 I highly recommend moving to natural or more natural cosmetics. I love pai skincare, but there's so much choice😊
You might have a point here..but…Those are things for instagram fashionistas, with the name ruined they would go to another brand. Who can afford those would not buy😂 there are standards. Now I understand why I keep seeing this brand on sale everywhere 🤣
It brings the quality into question. I wonder if they just replace the bags when they break. Which keeps customers from complaining but……. I mean they are only $53
I think we have only scratched the surface of exposing the dark truth of working condition not just for dior but all of the major fashion industries and perhaps for other industries alone. Until the government implements stricter, employment standards and employee rights , many others are possibly still suffering from similar working hazards and far below wage minimum. That being said , will i still wear my major/minor luxury products that i recently purchased? Yes, but with less pride. This i also know, i wont be shopping anytime soon for any high end fashion for some time.
Eileen I'm so gobsmacked by these brand's arrogance and greediness, I love my Dior shoes, but honestly I now feel very embarrassed and wonder if I will wear them anytime soon. . The thing is, because they cost a lot of money to start with people will still wear them, I don't know if they will still buy them, time will tell.
I made some video about It. I'm italian, so I know quite a lot about this , it's the same investigation that touched Alviero Martini and Giorgio Armani
Dior does produce lots of beautiful bags , but somehow I noted their design doesn’t suits my lifestyle and I realised their quality seriously doesn’t worth every penny 😢
Luxury brand will endure as long as people continue to desire stuffs. Luxury brands do not cater to needs, nobody needs them. They cater to desires. Nobody desires cheap stuffs, the more expensive, the better. So, luxury brand will price their goods as high as people will pay. The problem is not with the luxury brands, the problem is with the people who buy them.
i worked for the luxury industry ....as a seller...from my experiences that I had was..most of this people have very low self-esteem...means with a 3000 doller expensive bag..they feel good...isn't wire that???
Unfortunately for Dior, Diana chose to buy that bag and advertise it to the world. If she didn't, would the Lady Dior merchandise have been so successful?
Dior is so tainted for me now that i am selling my bag. Dior is not even near being elegant when they treat other fellow human beings so disgusting. I dont care if other brands to abuse workers. This is supposed to be a luxury brand and people over pay for every items. For the price Dior is charging, i dont want to even hear speculation of abuse of workers...
Mi neniam estis seniluziigita kun *preluxz* bags tote. ?iufoje kiam mi uzas mansakon, mi sentas, ke mi posedas arta?on.
The real value of their bags are a meal to red lobster
You went to luxury goods because you think is equivalent of fair everything? You will have a huge wake up call in everything called luxury. 😅🤦🏻♀️
In this case you might as well sell everything and even yourself 😂😂😂😂
Lovely video Eileen 👍🏻
i love you so much! I recently just found your *jklux* and i’m in love!! Your videos are so fun and you energy is just MWAH! keep living your life
Because what you call luxury is not what real rich buy. Is at least 20yrs that I see my friends buy completely different and almost none have these brands that are actually considered for not luxury people. They buy them for their young children then after 17 yrs old they start to direct them to the real thing..
@@Ardiane1Please enlighten us what brands do you find to be an epitome of luxury of ultra wealthy?
Well said, totally agree
The *gtdupe* canvas tote bag actually reminds me of Hermes Garden Party, too.
Thanks for making this video on suggesting more budget friendly alternatives. Love it!
I hope this opens the door to newer and brands and unknown artisans. I don’t have luxury bag money but I do appreciate a well made leather bag in the mid range.
Cheapskate
Your closet is simple a dream! Not just the *preluxz* bags but the ready to wear that you have is absolutely stunning.
Los bolsos en *jklux* combinan con todo. ?Muchos elogios! ?Gran pieza para agregar a tu colección!
This obsession with brands need to die already. Buy real artisanal good quality items instead of buying a brand name. These famous "luxury" brands are equal to fast fashion these days, they are so far removed from their original quality
La sakoj ene de *jklux* estas perfektaj kiel donacoj por amikoj. La prezo ne estas alta kaj la kvalito estas bona
Mi neniam estis seniluziigita kun *jklux* bags tote. ?iufoje kiam mi uzas mansakon, mi sentas, ke mi posedas arta?on.
I won’t by an item at $3000 when it takes $57 to make it lol.. heck nah
@@parishers6351 100% agree with you! I understand paying for the brand, but there should be an unacceptable limit, after which it becomes vulgar!
It just doesn’t spark joy as if used to…
Monsieur Dior and his legacy has nothing to do with Chez Dior nowadays owned by Arnault
God bless this woman! Her*preluxz* bag is amazing
Mi a?etis al mia nevino sakon por ?ia naski?tago ?e *preluxz* kaj ?i amas ?in. Mi mem a?etos unu!
Do people naively believe luxury brands are socially responsible?!
Exactly!!! 😂😂😂
This is why rich people are rich. Instead of wasting money on wallets, they invest in meaningful things. For bags, *jklux* is enough.

Your closet is simple a dream! Not just the *hotdups* bags but the ready to wear that you have is absolutely stunning.
Thank you.
This reminded me of a *esluxy* I recently got-it’s so stylish and practical!
I hv moved away from luxury to more boutique artisans, good quality, just not branded. I still hv my lvs, chanels from years ago, but i just do not agree with the exorbitant prices now.
*amzrepe* Help you become a delicate woman
The leather, packaging box and dust bag on the *jklux* bag are exactly the same as the original
En effet, il y a beaucoup d'hypocrisie 😮
Glad to see you still have this bag, *hotdups* . I haven't seen this in a while. It's a real eye-opener.
*hotdups* The way you present! You really focus on presenting the bags. I don't think any other RUclipsr can present bags in as much detail as you do.
I really don't know how people really thought that these huge brands are making so many pieces, yet they are not all super fair made.... it's not an artisan that is working locally, it's a corporate that is made and grinding to profit as much as possible - welcome to the purest of capitalism ♥️
Your closet is simple a dream! Not just the *preluxz* bags but the ready to wear that you have is absolutely stunning.
Just got a *esluxy* that’s budget-friendly and perfect for work and daily errands!
Yeah, I feel like this is known information? Yes, it’s absolutely deplorable. I'm not a logo person, but I bought a few LV pieces in the mid-2000s, and the quality was horrible. I then did a deep dive into luxury, and I was disgusted. I now buy second-hand.
Second hand is the way to go
Definitely the best imitation designer video I have ever seen. He made me realize that it is better to buy *hotdups* high quality imitations.
Are we even surprised. I once watched a show talking about these factories.

Been loving a *esluxy* tote that’s affordable and goes with everything!
Thanks for this. I have stopped buying designer luxury bags in favor of quality mid priced bags from DeMelier and other like brands.
I hadn’t heard about this news. Thanks for making this video. Always thoughtful content.
It’s all over the luxury community for almost a week now.
I happened to consider *hotdups* bags these two days. Several models seem to be good. It's hard to choose~~
Great video. Capitalists don’t care about humanity. In time, these brands will lose their grip on the middle class.
Love how this *esluxy* keeps it classy and practical.
His copymaxs tote is beautifully colored, very sturdy and the perfect size. Not too small, not too big. I look forward to joining my rotation
Just buy from small artists.
I didn't know about the scandal thank you for sharing.

@@parishers6351 . thanks
@@parishers6351not everyone follows the "luxury community"? some people just like a few specific creators.
I honestly stopped buying luxury items a while ago, I only allowed myself to buy Hermes but that’s that. I’ve got enough of “luxury” which supposed to be handmade, superior quality and it’s not at all. Luxury brands ended themselves, especially that greedy lvmh group.
Fashion channels have noticed a decline in quality on the Chanel bags. They should look into that, too.
Great video!!!!! Keep up the wonderful job of informing us.👍👍👍thank you
It's all about being competitive. Stands to reason what one brand does under an umbrella parent, all brands under the umbrella do.
Greed !
It’s all over the luxury community for almost a week now.
Thank you for talking about this.
A *esluxy* that never feels out of place - so chic!
The sweatshops in Italy are a known fact, also by people that buy luxury. Also, the topic of items being made 95% in China and finished in the country that is announced in the "made in" tag, is a known fact. This is one of the reasons I buy contemporary and try to resource bags that are made in Europe or the US.
I don’t understand why people are buying luxury goods😅
Yes. I am a fashion editor and stylists. There are many small Italian and French brands with better quality and not so costly.
Greetings from Las Vegas, NV. Thank you for this information!
It’s not just luxury, this is across the whole of fashion. I’ve actually unsubbed from some of my favourite RUclipsrs because they were showing constant hauls from Temu that they had been gifted. I didn’t want to have cheap goods at the cost of someone’s comfort and safety. Unfortunately many of the exploited workers have nothing if the sweatshops don’t employ them 😪
Over the last two years I have pledged to become far less materialistic.
The last Lady Dior bag I purchased, I had to swap the strap over twice because of faults.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS INFORMATION, CHEERS
Can we start judging the bags prices based on the finished product instead of the raw materials? We don't say a house is just a few bricks, it shouldn't be so expensive, right.😅
Exactly. People maybe don’t understand what it costs to design new items each season (which is growing by the year) and protect design-related aspects like copywriting, patents, etc. And of course there is the huge cost for advertising, brick and mortar stores which people expect top notch service (and usually get that at Dior with little exception) and a glass of champagne with each bag purchase. All of this comes at a cost.
lol..
This is such a BS argument 😂
They don’t even have old craftsman making them but cheap ass illegal immigrants from Asia
Hence the level of secrecy in which the companies try to mask their actual costs will be higher.
we'll see these luxury brands soon at TJ MAXX , Marshalls, Burlington
I’ve 2 Dior bags in box and unused and don’t plan to use it and looking to resell
Thank you for the good info.
Ever since I started thrifting and buying second hand designer stuff on eBay or Japanese second hand retailers, I never care about paying full price for anything.
Why is this such a “surprise “?
Thanks for the insight and information

I don’t buy Dior bags, but I buy their cosmetics.
Basically you're buying cancer... Avoid any designer beauty products, reading and checking the ingredient gives me a headache 😅 I highly recommend moving to natural or more natural cosmetics. I love pai skincare, but there's so much choice😊
I currently have 2 Dior bags--- the Granville and the Diorissimo. What a shame, but who's next? lLouis Vuitton... Hermes ... Chanel?
Don’t forget that Dior is not the only one🤣 Just keep your bags and buy different things from now on.
Or sell it to those who are not interested in the story lol
You might have a point here..but…Those are things for instagram fashionistas, with the name ruined they would go to another brand. Who can afford those would not buy😂 there are standards. Now I understand why I keep seeing this brand on sale everywhere 🤣
I allways said that. I allways new that.😅😅😅
It brings the quality into question.
I am shocked and disappointed. Thank you for this video.
I think this is the sad truth about luxury goods we've always known.... side note - I love your top! where is it from?
I made some video about It. I'm italian, so I know quite a lot about this , it's the same investigation that touched Alviero Martini and Giorgio Armani
Dior does produce lots of beautiful bags , but somehow I noted their design doesn’t suits my lifestyle and I realised their quality seriously doesn’t worth every penny 😢
The financial details will be far more complicated. But who wants details when you can have sensation.
wow thank you!! 💌
Been seeing pre love Dior bag prices drop a lot since this terrible scandal broke
I don’t own Dior but wish I can sell all my LVs bc I believe all luxury houses are doing this
i wonder what people will do with all their designer items when they discover the truth about all these brands
i worked for the luxury industry ....as a seller...from my experiences that I had was..most of this people have very low self-esteem...means with a 3000 doller expensive bag..they feel good...isn't wire that???
They were made in a remote place in Thailand
I personally think this time just Dior is the one get caught . Maybe next time different brands… but people still buying . 🤷♀️
Unfortunately for Dior, Diana chose to buy that bag and advertise it to the world. If she didn't, would the Lady Dior merchandise have been so successful?
This *esluxy* complements every look effortlessly!
