Toronto Zoo's Lion Cubs with Dad Fintan

- Our white lion cubs continue to grow and have slowly been introduced to dad Fintan. Every weekday, keepers are working on integrating the pride with Fintan and the cubs. All cubs are over 30lbs and as you can see, they are still very active, playful and rambunctious!
Don't forget to visit mom Makali and the four cubs every Saturday and Sunday from 11:00am to 2:00pm, weather permitting.
When he looks at the camera he's like "See what I have to go through everyday?"

He just has a lighter hair color than you're used to seeing in standard pictures of lions. In fact generally there is sexual selection for lions with darker fur, even though in the hot desert it is a survival disadvantage. In other words female lions find male lions with darker fur to be sexier, but being overheated in the desert/savannah is bad.

The dad flicked his tail for his cub to play with. He watches them, almost like he's hoping some of them will want to come over and play. So cute!

They have a very large outdoor enclosure where they are free to roam around. It is separated from the public by a ditch so they are not in a cage. I'm sure they were only in this room for a short time.

He's very tolerant. A lot of males have little patience for cubs, even their own (zero for those that aren't...).
TimeyWimeyAura lions are actually really good dad's. people seem to only give credit to lionesses, yes they are amazing mothers, one of the best, they will carry their cubs across rivers, catch prey for them, but males will aswell, male lions will fight till death when protecting his cubs, they will guard and watch over the while the lioness is gone. some male lions even seen adopting cubs that arnt his and raising them.
