    Wow!!
Slow, hesitant start, but gradually grooves up until by 4:30 it's starting to cook.
THEN the guitarist and bassist, in succession, TAKE Eddie's groove and wmbellish it ..
.. And this groove's WEIRD but COMPELLING. Despite the odd outdoor amplification that doesn't work properly the sheer ATMOSPHERE of the gig triumphs. That plus the WEIRDLY atmospheric LIGHT across the square as dusk slowly approaches. The whole gestalt is amazing. Then he starts his sort-of scat singing.
VERY nice altogether. Many thanks for sending!!

Eddie Harris - one of of the most underrated musicians of our time. And he's one of the very few black saxophone players showing influence of Stan Getz (witness his ballad playing on "We'll be together again" here).

Thanks for posting. I’ve been a fan of Mr. Harris since 1960 “Exodus”. I’m glad I was able to catch him in person once at the old Keystone Korner in San Francisco back in the day.
