@@jasonwish- I am doing the hiker challenge this year. I wanted to hike the Sheltowee again, but unfortunately with work/life I can’t thru-hike it. Hopefully one day I can though.
I really do like the longer videos! The only 2 downsides is finding the time to watch the whole thing and remembering what to comment on by the end! Part 2 of our Palmetto Trail video comes out tomorrow and it turns out I found Mister's current limit. 17 miles in a day. So we were sitting here watching you knock out 25 in a day and now he has context to know how far that is! You mentioned at some point you were going to "Jump" onto a road walk. When you got to it Rugged Mountain Sister pointed out that you didn't actually JUMP onto it.... teenagers! 🙂 Its funny how you are so far inland and it still looks the same as the earliest parts of the Swamp Fox Passage. I ended up really liking the Awendaw Passage. Hiking along the river marsh was nice. How did you forget your GoPro of all things!!?? Thats hilarious! Then leaving the camera on timelapse.... I would SO do that too! RUclipsr fails! 🙂 Those road walks are killers! I would not be looking forward to 11 miles on a road! Mister thought those coyotes sounded a little too close! Oh the drone!! You've got the worse luck! I just stopped flying mine because of the Remote ID laws and the RUclips monetization issues and everything. If I get to upgrade to a mini 4 I might start using it again... I'm just short about $1000 to get one! Maybe if I took out stock in Backpacker Meals I could earn enough to get one!! ;-) Great adventure Jason!
Holy moly! You definitely win the award for best comments! I love it! Ok, where to start..... I just watched you and Mister walk 17 miles last night, great video! What a trooper! Future FKTer right there, lol. Those are some big miles for you guys! Haha, yeah I like to "jump" onto road walks. These final 100 miles will start to look a lot different now as I head into the mountains...I can't wait! It actually crosses the Foothills Trail near the end and I will be parking my truck at the western terminus of the foothills since it's only a mile from the end of the Palmetto trail. Its so easy to make silly mistakes isn't? I'm pretty fortunate to not have made many more and have never lost footage or audio in 8 years, so I feel pretty fortunate! I love hearing coyotes, doesn't bother me a bit as long as they move on so I can sleep, lol! I got me a new drone already, but I've contemplated not bringing it anymore mainly because of weight and the hassel of packing and unpacking each day and the time it takes to stop and fly it. I plan to go ahead and get my part 107 license this year, hopefully I can get it before I get busted, lol. My brother has two commercial freeze driers for his candy business, I need to start making my own meals! Thanks guys, hope to see ya all soon in Indiana!
Even though there are a lot of road walking sections in that area it was still a great place to be during the winter and can’t wait to get into the mountains this fall! Thanks, Tom!
You are welcome, sorry for the long wait, been filming and editing two farm videos per week and time has been in short supply...thanks for waiting patiently Harry!
Great video! You were talking about the tall fences around the perimeter of the prison. My cousin used to work for the attorney general of SC and investigated crime within the prison system. They installed those tall fences to keep people on the outside from tossing contraband over the razor wire fence. Great series! I love watching these and can't wait to see the final sections. Keep up to good work!!!
Good morning Jason Nice to see you back out trying to finish this trailer off Safe travels Sorry about the drone being busted up That's added weight you don't need anymore Just take out the SD card When you get the next campground area chuck the remains and stash away the SD and you'll be a lot faster
I thougt about doing that but I thought maybe i could fix it but looks beyond my capabilties so I already bought another one but doubt i'll carry the weight next time. I hope to finiish entire trail this fall. Thanks CG
It's nice weather out there in North Carolina. and here the snow has just begun to melt, mud and slush are everywhere. How is your fasciitis, does it bother you?
Faciitis hasn't bothered me for years, thank goodness. I was actually in SC but very close to NC, either way, it was much better than Ohio weather, that's for sure! Where are you located that still has snow melting?
Another great section! Can’t believe it’s been a few years since I’ve hit any of the Palmetto Trail but it’s been great following on your journey! Thanks as always for sharing bud!
Absolutely, actually, I would freeze dry mine, my brother has two commercial freeze dryers for his Candy business, I just never take the time to do it and since I do long backpacking trips so infrequently, it’s not that big of a deal to buy a few meals here and there I guess.
I hear Ohio drone repair is good for fixing you up from your crash…I’ve contemplated, regarding freeze dried, if it would be more economical to purchase those big survival food tubs and just source your meals from those; they’re all freeze dried and there surely must be some savings in a bulk purchase…
Yeah, I may reach out to them to see how much they would charge to fix it but I already bought a used new one for 280 bucks Some of those freeze dried companies do sell big canisters of their meals and I’m sure there’s many of the survival food companies that have them as well but I have heard they don’t taste as good. My brother has his own commercial freeze dryer, I just need to start taking my extra food over there and freeze drying it down for huge savings!
@@jasonwish- oh yes! If you have access to your own freeze dryer that is for sure the way to go. I’ve had friends send me dinners they’ve freeze dried and they were absolutely wonderful and far surpassed anything I’ve tried commercially. I’ve dealt with Ohio Drone Repair several times making purchases for our police department….they are very approachable and responsive. Good luck on your drone healing 😂. My wife, son and I did another trial of our kayaks last week and we have made plans to do one more flat water weekend at Leesville before we try a river trip…thank you again for all of your guidance!!
Yes, I walked up on one in late May in Gaylord Michigan area back in the late 90's while mushroom hunting and just three years ago one walked into our camp looking for food in Jordan River Valley in Northern Michigan while on a backpacking trip...I have the later one on film...ruclips.net/video/dw8uiOYhrkU/видео.htmlsi=BsArRw3AwhAgyT_f
@@donniemabry1470 we were able to scare it off by yelling at it but then it went to the next camp and tore his bear proof Ursack food bag off the tree and carried it off.
Awesome video! thanks for sharing
Thanks Harold, glad you enjoyed it!
Great video Jason. I can’t wait to watch the next one.
Thanks Anthony, I'm starting to work on part two this week. Did I see that you are doing the Sheltowee Hiker Challenge this year?

Excellent Video Jason. Now that I live in upstate SC. I’m definitely going to hit some of these passages. 👍

Looks like a great place to hike. I like that it’s mostly flat.
Thanks Mike, it’s definitely a great place to hike during the colder months in Ohio! The final 100 miles in the mountains will not be flat however!
Great vid! GOBLUE!〽️

Loving these videos! You thought about making your own meals dehydrating them? Agree the prices are crazy high for them.

Sorry, carbon felt. Jumped the gun.
No worries, I love the cat can stove because of how quiet and light it is.
The reason why you left your camera behind was you were thinking about your tomatoes
Haha, I was glad to leave them behind for a week but it was certainly stressful wondering about them everyday!
Have you ever walk in to a bear why walking into the woods Jason

Did you claim a tree for safety lol I did it why turkey hunting it was scary on me black bear

I always take me some bear spray why hiking and camping.
