Hi Lance. At what age does the accumulation of this phenomenon occurs. I’m 33 and wanted to know if the senolytics could be beneficial. Thanks

Believe it or not, cellular senescence can start in the womb! Not ALL cellular senescence is bad, just the stuff that hangs around long-term. That's what senolytics clear out, the long-term stuff. I don't think it's ever too early to start.

There is so much speculation about this. It drives me crazy scientists can't agree about whether to clear senescent cells or if we need them for immune function. Dr Charles Brenner says one thing and another highly qualified scientist will say the opposite. Same with the NMN or NR discussion. It seems something would be provable. I've watched these types of discussions and arguments for over 40 years.

I know exactly what you mean. Last fall at RAADfest, they had a big discussion on stem cells by several of the leading proponents. Each of them had something completely different to say and supported different theories. You'd think at the same conference that they could agree with one another.

Thank You, Lance. Have you ever tried sleeping on a grounding mat? Best sleep and dreams of my life.

Not yet, but I've looked into it. You need contact between your skin and the surface of the mat, right? Just not sure how much I'll like sleeping on whatever the surface is made of.

Senescence is not related to telomers. Rather, vise versa. Melanocytes in skin divide slowly but it is them that are getting senescent and poisoning neighbours with SASP. And telomers in the senescent cells are getting damaged because of higher ROS production, lower level of glutathion, mitochondria dysfunction, etc. And senescent cells ignite growth of tumor. Not suppress it. But we need them in some limited number.

That's an interesting take on the subject. For sure, a lot more research needs to be done.

I am 36 and have bought 800mg Fisetin tablets, I am planning on taking them for a week then stop for 1 or 2 months (since the dose is on the higher side) would appreciate your inputs.

We r probably 300 years away from understanding this biochemistry much less being able to affect it ...

Not all organisms age, Lobsters, jellyfish some microbes, some whales do not age, possibly others like some turtles, sharks, plants--see research.
