Tire tests are a great idea and keeping everything consistent (truck, inserts, weather conditions, terrain, etc) makes the comparisons more relateable. I would also like to see more videos of you in the shop wrenching on your trucks and doing mods. Also, at the start of your drive videos (like this one) maybe give us a body off look so, we can check out your rig and layout more thoroughly 👍
Nice test mule. 😎 I love the idea of bracketed tire tests. Maybe monthly? Love my Tusks/Squidserts on my 5.5 pound rig. They hook up really well on the central Texas rocks.
I’ve ran multiple sets of tusks from brand new to bald, i absolutely love them, there about as good as ruptures but just quite not there because the lug spacing, but the more they scrub in I promise they’ll start absolutely ripping
That’s an awesome build. I have been running the tusks for a while now and have them on all my trucks at the moment but I have been wanting to run a PL km3 or maybe a PL trencher both in g8.
Don't forget your controller ! I've done it too 😂 the fix is Drive it Into your car ! Something I started doing that really pays off , it also means the truck works and you got everything you need when you arrive
Awesome build. Love the tire test idea. If you do a 12 tire bracket, I suggest double elimination. Due to what you were saying about temp and moisture.
As a fellow tire nerd, I approve! I like the thought you're putting into how the tests will be conducted and how to standardize the results. Looking forward to this series of videos!
Looking forward to tire tests. Make sure to run equally scrubbed in tires to keep things equal. New tires vs well scrubbed wouldn’t be a fair comparison.
Same here. I watch you the most when i am wanting to learn crawling skill because you inform us of what and why you are doing when picking a strategy in a situation. Tou do a good job explaining. I like when you doing testing products as well. I never see desert conditions but i can apply many of your techniques. You would still smoke me on a coarse 😂
You should do a bracket style tire test. Head to head, winner faces the winner of the next head to head. The hard part is foams, do you run all the same or optimize for each tire?
You suggested Crawler Canyon to watch and he has Baseline that does all of his testing with this truck is your Baseline. Looking forward to you testing some tires👍
Hey that second to last one people don't realize how hard that is when your rear tires are below a ledge and then you're trying to climb a Ledge in front of you that's a very hard pull up
Hahaha😂 you're comment about JConcepts getting their shit together. Great video! I think the tire tests will do well on the channel for ya and i look forward to seeing how you do them.
Super excited to see a tire comparison series! I love the tusks and landmines currently for my location love the crawlers for my trail truck and has trenchers before and did okay has one comp on a rainy day they did better then most other competitors but the green compound has worked for 2023 season
The pitbull rock beasts are pretty darn good to really test tires if you put them on a less capable truck like a tf2 you can really see a huge difference
Man amazing build so nice and low but with nice clearance. Dude headache rack is freaking killer move!!! Word on jconcepts not keeping up with demand!! Does it not have bands? Jconepts out of the bag are insane…on dry clean rocks my ruptures are just sick….that sandy stone must be so hard.
Please throw a Fusion Pro unit at some point. Looking to build a VRD for my first 1/10, looking hard at that motor combo and would love to hear your feedback on it.
Not to support knock off copies... but I got a set of Jconcepts Ruptures off Ali Express. Side by side to the actual Jconcept version they looked absolutely identical. However the inner bead webbing was different (much more details and design on the actual Jconcepts tire). But out on the rocks the fake tire was total garbage. Almost zero traction. Showing the compound makes a huge difference over tread design. Could be interesting tests to match knockoffs with real deals and establish compound differences over tread design. Just an idea. Keep up the great work!
That’s an awesome rig you built. I like the idea of the head to head testing. It’ll be interesting to see if the results are most affected by tire compound vs tread pattern, and how the same tires respond in the various weather and rock conditions. Are you planning to break the tires in a bit before testing, or just go for it straight out of the package?
Tusk need to break in before they work really well I have 3 sets and the more scrub in set work so good but they are stretch on 2.2 shift wheels with wide CI foams soft n med n just all works so well together
Yep, JConcepts tires, whether for crawlers, bashing or racing, require a proper break in to get the most from them. Not sure if it is the molding process or composition but they all struggle when new.
Did you mention a rating system? Scoring the tires and have a chart of how they compare, or just "two tires enter, one tire leaves" kind of situation? : )
Love my tusk i run 4.19 , 4.75 and cut and shut 5.2 tusk generaly i wash them from new like all new tyres get rid of the sticky had to laugh when you went strait into the sand and they stills pulled amasing lines
Ambient temperature, weather conditions, and rock surface temperature need to be recorded as part of the test procedure. Voodoo tires KLR, KLR v2, KLR MT/x, Injora S4 pins, Duratrax Fossils, G Made 1904s, etc…
Try wiping them down with 409 Degreaser I used the lemon scented and it gets that tackiness off of them but also it like softens them up it does make them pretty sticky still at first but then they start to wear in and get like that oh real soft play Bubble Gum kind of
Shocked (and disappointed) it isn’t a beast Capra. In the other hand the trajectory sounds like if crawler canyon and exocaged RC had a crossover episode and I’m here for it 100%. Ps still dying to see that 1.9 wraith continue to shred and progress.

Scrub those puppies in and youll be impressed. Thanks for the shout out.
Sweet.... can't wait!!!! Love for you to come down to horseman's more ..... The high desert crawlers world love to host ya!!!
15:55 NICE JUMP[👍
Can’t wait for more tire reviews, especially run on the same rig with the same conditions!
Nice test mule. 😎
I love the idea of bracketed tire tests. Maybe monthly?
Love my Tusks/Squidserts on my 5.5 pound rig. They hook up really well on the central Texas rocks.
Lol the j concepts rant. I just waited what felt like forever to get the megalithics. Well worth the wait though.
Love it man. Thanks for the indepth explanations and technical nerdery! Very cool.
I dig the headache rack and the tire comparisons idea.
Good on you calling a company to get their shit together. Sometimes its ridiculous what they expect their stock to be... They need to step up
I'm super jealous of the terrain you've got there
Love your content, love the BRACKET idea and this rig looks and performs like a weapon bro!!!
Tusk look like they're hooking up pretty good!!! I have them in the class 1 for the utb18 and love them
Dude I love that you’ve got ascent shocks in there! That’s a win! Haha
Also, absolutely love the idea of the tires test! Saves us locals some time and money :)
I love the idea for tire tests…thanks for doing this!!!!
I love the idea of doing tire tests!
Looks like you’re doing what I did. Kraken w/f10 straight axles and the VRD goodies.
I’ve ran multiple sets of tusks from brand new to bald, i absolutely love them, there about as good as ruptures but just quite not there because the lug spacing, but the more they scrub in I promise they’ll start absolutely ripping

It would be cool if you did 1 test with anti-foams and another with dual stage foams.
Absolutely! One set with printed inserts and another with dual stage foams and let the chips fall where they may 👍
It doesn't get much better than a set of Tusks on SL3Ds 🤩
lampreys should be on the list.
Looking forward to tire tests. Make sure to run equally scrubbed in tires to keep things equal. New tires vs well scrubbed wouldn’t be a fair comparison.
I agree... that being said it would be cool to see a scrubbed vs non scrubbed same tread to see the difference
Rc4wd tires like the wranglers M/T’s for sure. I’ve had good luck with those
Gonna be sweet happy new year

The hard part is foams, do you run all the same or optimize for each tire?
It will be all the same style insert sized for each from SL3D
Mannn loving this build! Keep it up man. Can’t wait for next years events
I was not all too impressed with the Tusk, bought in to the hype.
I think your tire testing donkey is a great idea, I love those types of videos.
You suggested Crawler Canyon to watch and he has Baseline that does all of his testing with this truck is your Baseline. Looking forward to you testing some tires👍
Looking forward to tire tests. How about a quick round of motor tests too (with what you have lying around)?
I think using a super box stock’ish RTR truck to do testing would show tires performance more so then testing using a custom build
Cool stuff! 😀
I take it that the motor is brushed is that's what causing the wine
I would love to see a series like that would definitely be cool I’m very picky about my tires as well
Great video, and good idea on the tire content. Id think the proline ibex tires would be an interesting test.
Fusion for the win
HB Rovers vs ???
Revolver with the HH mini is perfect imo
After all the comparisons I’ve done, Proline TSL Swampers XL in G8 with 109 Squid inserts is my favorite combo.
Nice car Logan nice.....
I really like the tire test idea!!! Looking for more videos forward.
Hey that second to last one people don't realize how hard that is when your rear tires are below a ledge and then you're trying to climb a Ledge in front of you that's a very hard pull up
Looking foreward 👍
We are ready for those reviews!
Test some Traxxas Canyon Trails please. They will need to be cut or "modded" first. Would LOVE to have these in the bracket.
I can definitely do canyon trails
I feel like they're a lot like the Crawlers they get better as time goes on as a feather up they definitely get better
Tire tests or Foams / 3d printed inserts...
I dig it..
I'd do 3 tires per video... benchmark, new guy, wild card...
Looking forward to the tire tests! Im always in the quest for great tires 👍
Hahaha😂 you're comment about JConcepts getting their shit together.
Great video! I think the tire tests will do well on the channel for ya and i look forward to seeing how you do them.
Love tire testing!!! Can’t wait
She does seem like the most entertaining in the show LOL killer job brother like always
Loving the headache rack.
I would love to see a comparison with the tusk and powerhobby grabber 😊💪
I have tusks on squids on my interceptor vs410, i think they perform awesome. Awesome build. I use tusks or megalithic
“Holy crap JConcepts, get your shit together” 😵💫😂
Super excited to see a tire comparison series! What transmission setup u running in this ?
Btw, make no mistake about it, we watch for Sydney! 😉😅
I'd like to see those Tusks VS. some Proline MT Baja Pro's
I love my pitbull tires but I'm up north ogden they work well up here
What type of trans set up are you running
Man amazing build so nice and low but with nice clearance.
Dude headache rack is freaking killer move!!!
Word on jconcepts not keeping up with demand!!
Does it not have bands?
Jconepts out of the bag are insane…on dry clean rocks my ruptures are just sick….that sandy stone must be so hard.
Bad influence. You’re helping me spend my money. 😂
Please throw a Fusion Pro unit at some point. Looking to build a VRD for my first 1/10, looking hard at that motor combo and would love to hear your feedback on it.
I’ve had lots of fusion pros they’re fantastic you won’t be disappointed this is actually the odd one out not having a fusion in it
Nice work mate
U like the G8 compound over the predator compound?
Cheaper brands are coming out with very good tires like Injora I’m wondering how the cheaper brands do against the more expensive ones.
All about the compound of the tire. Like proline hyrax will be better than Amazon knock off hyrax tires
Not to support knock off copies... but I got a set of Jconcepts Ruptures off Ali Express. Side by side to the actual Jconcept version they looked absolutely identical. Man you know how to build beautiful performance filled crawlers this one is know different Bad A$$
I think a challenge inside brands to find the top tire and then take those top tires of each brand and have a challenge.
Injora swamp claw for the win?
I wanna see proline Krawlers Predator compound vs G8 compound
Myself as well
Jconcepts have pretty much replaced all proline tires in our area; they out perform and are cheaper than the prolines.
Ambient temperature, weather conditions, and rock surface temperature need to be recorded as part of the test procedure.
Voodoo tires KLR, KLR v2, KLR MT/x, Injora S4 pins, Duratrax Fossils, G Made 1904s, etc…
Great idea, what about testing name brand tires against the knock off version of the same tire(tread)
just picked up one of your sweatshirts love your content. where can i get your wdw sticker for the rig lol
ya do tire test good idea i love a reason to buy a new set
J concepts don't work in wet or muddy but in your area they probably work great.
100 percent but on dry rocks can’t beat ruptures
As always, depends on the tread design, compound and insert.
Try wiping them down with 409 Degreaser I used the lemon scented and it gets that tackiness off of them but also it like softens them up it does make them pretty sticky still at first but then they start to wear in and get like that oh real soft play Bubble Gum kind of
Are those the dravs? What weight oil and springs are you running? I Have a very similar truck and yours are looking dialed!!
These are Redcat ascent shocks I took all the springs out of. Put mini T springs in and 40W oil. They seem happy there
Could the weight of the crawler make a difference in performance???. ... Just a thought...
It will, no doubt. But I can only do so much
Shocked (and disappointed) it isn’t a beast Capra.
In the other hand the trajectory sounds like if crawler canyon and exocaged RC had a crossover episode and I’m here for it 100%.
Ps still dying to see that 1.9 wraith continue to shred and progress.
I’ve noticed tire stock on multiple sites very low not sure what’s going on but it’s annoying when you have the $ but you can’t get your first choice.
I challenge you to try small tires on your rigs. That's way more fun lately. They do look more real also even on video.
I have a few 4.19 sized tires to try already
You ever try Ruptures ?
What colors does the kraken come in?? Curious mind..
do you point out your trucks. what is the current build come in at?
I don’t have any idea. Not a sorrca build
Tusks are always out of stock because they work
I always wash that shit off my new tires.
How'd you mount that bed?
Have you a list of what escs run 4s please
What's that upside down servo mount?
