- Everyone has there arch nemesis and one of the oldest rivals and nemesis is Godzilla nemesis King Ghidorah. We have had many versions of the king hydra and like I ranked all the mechagodzilla, lets rank all the King Ghidorah's from worst to best in my opinion anyway I'm alexthehunted and this is every King Ghidorah from best to worst. Monsterverse Ghidorah was an absolute powerhouse. He had his gravity beams but he also had near instant regeneration, insane durability and his very presence conjured a massive hurricane. Dude was akin to a destroyer diety in the movie.
And he survived the oxygen destroyer with an exposed wound(his ripped of head)while Godzilla almost died

Mv ghidorah is the second weakest ghidorah incarnation lol. That "near instant regen" is only possible on anything other than tiny injuries when given high amounts of radiation.
My favorite is Showa, I love the backstory for him being a confirmed planet killer. And I get the point of him being controlled to much, but I always felt to me like he allowed it, he typically stiff fought even when the control would break.
He's evil and set the scale that every other Kaijuu in the Era had to be compared to, and that's what I love him for.
Also, the build-up he's given in Three-Headed Monster is SO good! I get the point about later appearances diluting his menace, but there are few kaiju "villain performances" as effective as Ghidorah in his debut.
And I know some fans feel his cry isn't strong or menacing enough, but it's so distinct that I consider it an absolute positive for the character. It also fits the character: Incredibly evil, powerful, and destructive, but very visually "light", with golden scales and yellow beams. A high-pitched, trilling cry fits that contrast really well.
I actually prefer how Monsterverse Ghidorah isn't just outright stronger than Godzilla and instead a rival on equal terms. It really sells the idea that these two Titans have a rivalry spanning millennia, that Godzilla is the strongest on Earth to be considered Ghidorah's only true equal.

You forgot one detail about MV Ghidorah, he's not being controlled by anyone, he is the controller. He is the one in control of the other Earth monsters that time.
Just want to point out that the Ghidorah in GMK isn't even a Ghidorah but a juvenile Yamata No Orochi which only rested enough to grow back three heads and needed to rest long enough to regrow all eight.
It's even explained in the film that he's a Yamato No Orochi, the one who wore the suit even stated that he made the movements he did to show that it was a teenager, powerful but not yet mature.
Takeda even explained that if it regrew all its heads it would've been invincible. Which we of course didn't get to see.

Monsterverse Ghidorah is the most satisfying ghidorah design I have ever looked at, the wings, the heads, THE INDIVIDUAL PERSONALITIES, Kevin, and that general body that says pure muscle, I also love how it takes aspects from quite a bit of Ghidorah history such as regeneration from Cretaceous Ghidorah and draining of power from Kaiser. Not to mention that nobody mentions that Ghidorah’s blood is BLACK because he doesn’t need oxygen therefore his blood has no oxygen, it’s such a neat detail and nobody seems to talk about it
Monsterverse Godzilla only beat Ghidorah by using nuclear shockwaves….saying he was a little weak to me is crazy
Let's not argue with people when they say one is more powerful because this is a ranking by likability and that can be debatable with no side winning.
@@prjoliphant7951 MV Ghidorah's fight with Godzilla is more personal than some of the films which i watched, haven't watched Showa or Heisei so I cant talk about that but this version IMO, instead of just being a threat to Godzilla, he is a threat to his role as the King of the Monsters, this version threatens his position in that role and plans to take it for himself, and fought him twice as 2 different enemies, the second time was Mechagodzilla

Showa ghidorah is the best ghidorah.
Literally Showa Ghidorah has invaded the earth more than any other Ghidorah plus Showa Ghidorah was only defeated by Gorosaurus, Godzilla, Anguirus, Minilla, Mothra, and Kumonga. It took all of them to take him down. Every other Ghidorah was beaten by just Godzilla while Showa Ghidorah always required 2 or more Kaiju to defeat. Truly proves how perfect Showa Ghidorah is.
Well, Mothra,Kumonga,Baragon,Varan, and Manda didn't do shit during Destroy all Monsters final battle.
So only Goro,Goji,Angy, and Minilla beat him

Monster Zero wasn't taken down by Godzilla alone though? I dont know if you realised but it took Mothra and Godzilla both to kill him, without Mothra, Godzilla wouldn't have been able to go thermonuclear and stop his healing.

Mz is a disappointment to all the Ghidorahs. He died the shi**iest way, got his ass kicked by everyone, litteraly needed a convenient power up to defeat Godzilla, has a bland origin, crappy and unfunny memes, and he gets soloed by litteraly any other ghidorah. He is also ironically heavier than heisei kg , showa kg , fw godzilla , base monster x and more with a mass of 75.000 tons.
Godzilla needed the power up from the nuke to be able to fight Ghidorah, the first time Ghidorah woke up and was confused
The second he fought Ghidorah under water which gives Godzilla a clear advantage
Than Godzilla got a power up from a nuke which gave him a power up
And then Ghidorah got a power up so he got the advantage again
And then Mothra gave Godzilla a power up and the ability to disperse radiation in bigger amounts which resulted in Thermonuclear
Also after godzilla got charged mz was clearly losing until mz also drained energy.
I didn’t like godzilla gaining the upper hand against King ghidorah alone.In showa era for example king ghidorah was defeated by at least 3 kaijus fought king ghidorah to take him out.King ghidorah was a beast until godzilla vs gigan.In that film king ghidorah was clearly weak next to gojira

Honestly this list is almost the exact same as mine,the only thing is that I’d swap heisi ghidorah for KOTM ghidorah as it had that tiny bit more of a presence than the heisi one(that’s probably because it had more of a personality)

I absolutely loved the Shin Ghidorah design from the 4-D ride. I kinda love the idea of the anime Ghidorah being kinda pure energy out of phase with out universe. I loved its design too. But I totally understand why I’m in the minority. Honestly I’d put Grand King Ghidorah at last. Something just feels off about it.
That Xenomoph roar is an elephant trumpet, used for Desghidorah as well, just at normal speed.

My favorite is Keizer Ghidorah. Very underrated Ghidorah. The colors are very neat, Unique design similar to Des Ghidorah, heads are physically unique to one another, and has a power rangers form.
When I first heard a small dosage of monsterverse Ghidorahs roar and description of him before the first trailer came out I knew they were gonna do him justice. #1 Version of Ghidorah imo.

I think the Showa and Heisei Eras had the best King Ghidorahs. The Monster Verse one was really intimidating, but I could have gone without the Smaug look.
I think him looking a bit like Smaug is part of his charm. It suits him.

I loved your video about King Ghidorah. He's always been my favorite. But I think you missed one. You did Grand King Ghidorah from Rebirth of Mothra 3, but you forgot Desghidorah from the first Rebirth of mothra. 😊
Cretaceous Ghidorah: While criticisms of Cretaceous are totally valid, I always feel a need to stand up for the little guy. Like the GMK version, he's a scrappy, little Ghidorah. Unlike in GMK, this contrasts effectively with his more mature self in the same film. Grand Ghidorah effortlessly overwhelms Rainbow Mothra, no-sells her attacks, and almost lazily wrecks her.
Cretaceous doesn't have that overwhelming size or power advantage, and it shows in his fighting style. He's extremely aggressive and very physical for a Ghidorah, shredding Mothra's wings, sprinting at her, taking leaping stomps, and bashing her with his tails. Yes, the running's a little awkward in execution, but it's still quite novel to see a Ghidorah run. And the forked tails are a really striking aspect of Ghidorah in general, but outside of Cretaceous Ghidorah, they're useless at best and just liabilities to be grabbed/bitten very often. It's so refreshing to see a Ghidorah actually use his tails to his advantage!
I swear I feel like I’m the only one who likes the anime trilogy 😂 I can understand why people have problems with Ghidorah, but in my opinion I really really dig how they utilized him. Instead of being controlled by the aliens, for a change they have the aliens serving him and viewing him as a God which was a really interesting direction they took it in. And having him be not of this world, therefore not being able to be harmed, just added more to the stakes of the story. The whole scene where he destroys the Aratrum vessel by just being in proximity to it was a badass and scary way to truly introduce him as the threat and that, combined with the “being from another dimension” aspect just added to the fear factor from my personal viewing experience.
I might just be an outlier, but I still liked the anime trilogy overall 🤷♂️ thanks for reading if you made it to this point 😅
I honestly think the planet eater ghidorah has a good design, pretty unique, but hes just wasted potential. Theres also the problem of the fact that based on the still insane amount of abilities planet eater possesses even in a limited form, theres no way he should've lost in that movie. It honestly would've been better if they hadn't made it canonical that his true form would obliterate planets by being near them which meant they couldn't actually make a proper fight and instead they should've just nerfed him so we could have a proper fight between him and godzilla, because there was no reason to make ghidorah that overpowered if you weren't going to make what form he actually takes so pathetic in comparison.

I agree with you on Anime Trilogy's Ghidorah. There's actually a real reason why: he's WEAK, super duper weak. He just bit Godzilla and that's it!
MV Ghidorah is definitely my favorite one, and the scariest imo. The ONLY reason I can agree with him looking a little weak is how easily Burning Godzilla incinerated his entire body. But, even then, Godzilla was basically invincible in that state while expelling unfathomable doses of ridiculously hot radiation.
When you need to become INVINCIBLE just to kill the villain, I'd say the villain is absolutely strong.
Fore all intents and purposes Mecha G in G vs K was Mecha king Ghidorah.
Yeah, Grand King Ghidorah really established "G3" as truly evil sadist--as I recall, he fed off the fear of the victims he kidnapped; so, equal parts Emperor Palpatine, Pennywise AND the Hydra--and I have no trouble attributing Grand King Ghidorah's powers and intents to Legendary Ghidorah.
That one was the Freddy Krueger King Ghidorah kind of.

Showa Ghidorah is one of my favorite versions behind the Heisei incarnation, but for the Monsterverse one, he wasn't exactly equal to Godzilla in power depending on how you view it since he was able to handle himself against a pissed Supercharged Godzilla in Boston.
What I like about the Monsterverse King Ghidorah is that among other idiration of King Ghidorah is that MV KG is among the most evil of all KG. Most other KG are either mind controlled or in GMK cased a good guy (which is the role I don't like for KG). MV KG is the only one who still maintained his evil throughout the series. Even after his death his evil is still retained. So evil that his mind able to possessed Mechagodzilla. Its like the curse of Ghidorah's evil is still maintained on earth.
Kaiser is my favorite. I love they made Ghidorah more Western dragon with four legs and two wings.
I think your wrong that MV Ghidorah was a little weak the movie diffidently showed that he equally or stronger than Godzilla since Godzilla needed help from mothra.
i fully agree with mv and heisei being the best, they are both so close to being the perfect ghidorah in my opinion, like they are so close together in my personal ranking that i would put them almost at a tie
I prefer monsterverse ghidorah because, unlike most other versions of the character, they gave each head a different personality, unlike something like heisei where the heads just bobble around, with only the middle head ever doing anything when not in a fight
I think monster verse Ghidorah to me is the strongest and best looking design in my opinion and is the smartest also

Out of all the versions of King Ghidorah within the Godzilla franchise, my personal favourites are Ghidorah the Thousand Year Old Dragon from GMK, for being the first & only version of Ghidorah that's actually a defender of Earth this time around & also being a reference to the 8 headed Dragon Onnataroshi. Monster X/Kaiser Ghidorah from Godzilla Final Wars, for not only being the very strongest Ghidorah but caping off a epic final boss showdown. Monster Zero from Godzilla: King of the Monsters, for simply being the largest variant of Ghidorah in terms of live-action. Death Ghidorah from Rebirth of Mothra, for not only being the most brutal & evil vampiric Ghidorah out there but also being the only one that never once been seen killed on screen but only had to be sealed away
My favourites are GMK Ghidorah (although being the good one) and Showa Ghidorah
GMK is my favorite and every Kaiju in GMK is my favorite iteration of them I LOVE GMK especially since it made the most money in the millennium series yet is still pretty forgettable just like Gigan
Actually, GMK Ghidorah is NOT the only "good guy Ghidorah" We have. Since technically Mecha-King Ghidorah is also a good guy considering His role in His very first appearance in Godzilla vs King Ghidorah (even despite in some of the other medias depicted Mecha-King Ghidorah as a typical Alien-controlled bad guy, majority of the times His a time-traveling guardian of humanity)
Oh one last thing to note about each of the Ghidorah variants that I mentioned to be my most favourite, each of these Ghidorahs were not being controlled by anyone, no evil aliens, no evil future time-travelers, non. Well maybe Monster X though but in Final Wars it didn't seem like X was controlling Monster X at the time even after X & his ship was destroyed & even after that Monster X still fought Godzilla then transformed into Kaiser Ghidorah
Good list... but if any Ghidorah came off as weak it would be Heisei imo. He was the first to get 1v1'd, and he got slammed around, and blown apart like dirt after Godzilla used his atomic pulse(Also he was under mind control too). Imo Grand is the best Ghidorah, the design is just an upgrade from the Heisei era, he's the most evil, and yes he is the strongest Ghidorah as well.
I don’t see how Godzilla and Ghidorah were equals in the Monsterverse. Mothra had to sacrifice herself to revive Godzilla, which is still him needing help.
Honestly, I kinda dig the more dragon/bat like wings from the Universal ride Ghidorah. That's one of the reasons I like the Monsterverse Ghidorah's design, too! The fan like wings just came off too goofy to me.

An idea I thought up for Kaiser's that have small wings but what if he uses energy to increase his wingspan not to is body mass, I mean that he makes artificial wings increasing their size and it could was pretty cool maybe you'll fight during crackling energy forming around it ?

NEVER adapt Tokusatsu into an anime is the lesson of the anime trilogy.
I like that the anime trilogy Ghidorah when all in on his gravity powers to where he can create black holes and mess with time with the same powers he's always had. But also lets move on from the anime trilogy.

I think because I grew up with the showa era Godzilla films on tape even in the 90s I think showa era is my favorite design.

The Aquatic Rodan form is indeed still apart of the story
Other tidbits being Anguirus future sight is further than we thought previously as it apparently can see everything that was going to happen to it up til the moment it dies and has memories of seeing actual prehistoric dinosaurs as well as even speculated that archetype may have killed the dinosaurs which somehow indicates this stuff may had manifested during the dinosaur period but didnt destroy reality?
Another was the first Rodan that was encountered actually wasn't inherently trying to be hostile and actually was trying to free goro from jet jaguar because it perceived him as being trapped inside a larger creature
Every kaiju is actually an extension of the Singular Point itself which apparently in itself is an entity that's omnipresent and exist in every possible dimension/timeline/universe and wants to destroy them but despite this each kaiju has its own distinct personality and motives which makes it even more odd that Rodan may have not been trying to be inherently hostile .

Off topic i have a what if, what if monster x within the Godzilla final wars universe transformed into Keizer Ghidorah way before it ever fought Godzilla but transformed itself right back into monster x for fighting reasons and flight too and had the ability to turn itself into the meteor from earlier in the movie’s climax as way to destroy planets and flight.
The anime trilogy Ghidorah was a heavy L, however people looked at void differently when the fan made video was released showing both Earth's and Ghidorahs full potential

Monsterverse ghidorah was crazy and one of the best and everytime you see him it's just fear but to me everytime I see him I just see Kevin the left head of ghidorah (I think) each of his heads having their own personality is cool
