    Incredible work, I did not see that there were so many process as to a caricature portrait. I myself am working on realistic portraits and your videos help me out a lot in viewing things a different way. I do not have a teacher or another fellow artist who I could trust his opinion on my work, so I work even harder to see my own faults but as I said, your videos are of great help and I'm thankful for the time you take, all the info that's already available for free. THANK YOU VERY MUCH STAN!

    Peter Dinklage is one of my favorite actors. I think he's attractive and I love his voice.

    This just blows me away. True living art...watching the process is one of the most interesting things to me. Fantastic.

    Great video! Though I always find your rough sketch way more appealing than your final piece.

    Really nice one there Court. I like what you did with it. Sometimes when someone's work is so consistently good it almost doesn't seem like it needs to be complimented anymore. But I sincerely thought you did a great job here

    All of your caricatures are brilliantly done. There is a lot of anatomy and perspective in there, which I don't know if you have a video for anywhere. For example a nose or mouth or eye are all quite difficult to draw in 3/4 view. I must say I like the "rough sketch" the best here.

    Hi Court!
    Many thanks for these videos!
    Can you share please paper density of newsprint you guys are using? Having struggle to find good paper for practices locally. Two or three touches with eraser crashes the surface making any pencil stroke too bold and dark. Thanks

    • @CourtJones
      @CourtJones 6 лет назад

      Sorry that I only now saw this question. But to answer it, I used Pro Art brand smooth newsprint. 18 x 24 inches. The front cover of the paper pad says it is 32# weight (52 gsm).

    I can't draw exact faces of people..will I be still able to draw caricatures with enough likeness?? hope you understand my question :(

    • @CourtJones
      @CourtJones 7 лет назад +4

      If you follow the lessons, understand the topics and do the assignments, your ability to capture a likeness should improve. But doing the work at home is essential! I was very bad at drawing caricatures when I first started. It was a long road and required a lot of practice.

  • @bsalaberry1007
    @bsalaberry1007 6 лет назад

    Every action cause a reaction..something you are missing here. Also you didn´t achieve a better likeness on Mr Dinklage cause you didn´t draw his eyes, his mouth and his nose but I saw some of your caricature work and you are really good!👍

    • @Stettafire
      @Stettafire 6 лет назад

      Yeah I do feel like he made the face too small. Dinklage has a very square face with a strong jawline and I feel like it's a bit lost in this drawing.

    No, the whole part under the nose is undersized and should have been oversized.
    In this way his character changes - a determined and voluntary type becomes erased

      I used the Conte a Paris charcoal pencil for the thumbnails and rough sketches. And I used the Palomino Blackwing 601 for the final drawing.
