@ 9:36 - YES do this every time please. Showing the height differences while riding is brilliant. This seems like a no-brainer, yet after thousands of review videos, this is the first time I've seen it.
I think they got a winner on their hands
You’re a winner 😊
@Dave Shultz He IS a winner!
It’s a new age dyna. It’s gonna move units for sure
As long as they don’t get nuts with the pricing.
@BLOCKHEAD did you say he's an weiner? Lmao joking. Love your videos and shadetrees videos
Hey Blockhead the rider modes are actually hot swappable with that right trigger. Hold it in for 5 seconds and it'll switch through the ride modes for all ride command equipped vehicles in the Indian Motorcycles lineup
I've had my CDH for 2 years and I didn't know that 🤣 Thanks for the info
Man O Man, nobody but nobody does review videos like you, brother.
And JUSTIN, your editing makes these videos SO more pleasant to watch and enjoy.
As far as the Sport Chief goes, it's another level on the ladder to a perfect motorcycle.
Peace, Eric in Kissimmee.
🤘
Thanks Eric!
That white helmet rider in front of you tightened me up with a few wide corners. Great video
Same, I was like oh this is happening..wide into the other lane first, then I was like uh why you riding up on their right in a left turn after you've watched switch lanes on accident. Then that left almost going into the ditch....woof..it looks like they're just a newer rider scared to lean left, the right turn after was better.
@@jordongee2347 I think that was Brandon Bicasso who almost target fixated into the ditch
QUALITY crispy video production in comparision to the other 90%. Worth the wait BLOCK 🤟🏽
Thanks Q Graham, appreciate the kind words and support!
The younger generation will dominate the Indian motorcycle market. Harley is toast.
I dig it. Seems like a fun bike for different uses. Like to see a long haul review on it. 400 or 500 mile day on it. Good review as always man.
One thing I do appreciate about Indian is that their bikes come stock with parts here and there which us Harley riders would immediately purchase and throw on our bikes. i.e. two part riser/bar set up, suspension, larger fairing, LED lights, and a more comfortable stock seat compared to the Harley equivalent.
Big dirty thumbs up to Indian for that.
But one major downside; not as much aftermarket options as what is available to HDMC bikes and number of dealerships/service support.
Wouldn't mind seeing someone take this bike through the Twisted Sisters and do a review on it afterwards.
I'd have bought this instead of an LRS if it had better aftermarket support. This support is just so abysmal. I had a '15 Chief and the support for that was actually much better, the frame switch from '22 onward makes it seem that no one wants to be involved with these bikes yet. Hopefully the Sport Chief drives more aftermarket options.
Think the fairing gives it an obviously slightly elongated look that suits the Chief a lot more than without asthetically! Adds to the curves IMP 👌🏽
Throttle side trigger switch is to answer and hang up telephone when it is paired (Bluetooth) or plugged into (USB port) the Ride Command system.
Press left finger trigger to bring up the ride mode menu, press the right finger trigger to toggle modes
Twist right wrist to speed up and chick on the back passing you smokes and left hand ignition Zippo!
I'm looking at getting my first bike sometime this year. I've really enjoyed all of your beginners videos, you make awesome content!
I believe the seat strap is a requirement in most states for a 2 up rider and state inspection, In my state of NH it is a requirement
I rode one yesterday at Daytona, and I love it!! It’s really at its best when it’s in Sport mode!!
Best review so far!! Thank you for showing how the riders looked while riding along with their heights.
Dude I really appreciate you showing the difference in riding positions for the tall and short risers.
Who was that at 6:10 struggling to take the bend? 😂 Great vid!
Cool seeing all of my favorite two-wheel bloggers in one place, at one time 👍👍
Thanks for the review. I hope the seating position is better than the FXLRS
I have only ever ridden dirt bikes, and other off-road vehicles, but now I am getting my first motorcycle. The Indian Bike is just amazing to me, love the design, and the look. Cannot decide between dark horse and now the sport. Thanks for the video!
I love this bike. It's beautiful and normally parts that are aftermarket come standard. I will say this, I'm in a motorcycle club that has chapters internationally and all over the United States. Riding from the Bay to New York my brothers with Indians just seem to have way fewer breakdowns or issues than brothers with brand-new Harleys. I ride a few different Harleys but if my life depended on me making it from the Bay to New York I would take my brother's Challenger than my Road Glide.
Really? That's interesting. Harley has much better support than Indian. What has been the biggest issue?
Great vid! Brave of her two wheels to hop on stairs again after her Florida trip with you. Unless she found an elevator at the dealership to get to the second floor.
No mods needed finally nice rear shocks from the factory.
I couldn’t wait for this video to drop and you did not disappoint! Can’t wait to swing a leg over one of these bad boys
Choices, Choices. Feature packed by price, and some good looks. I would have to ride them back to back with the competition to make a decision.
Brand doesn't really matter to me.
That right trigger will change mode. Left trigger to get to mode options, right trigger to toggle between mode
Cruisers with undersquare tall motors makes for more forward controls as mid pegs will scrape more. Add low seat heights makes mid controls again more likely to scrape. It can be a safety issue going into a turn too fast and unable to lean bike as much as you need.
I'm seriously interested in this bike. I ride a 2000 dyna all set up and ride with some Indian owners, and I feel this has more options than the Lowrider S and might possibly be a Lowrider S killer for the price IMO.
Riding, motor cycle life~ 🌞
If you raise your hand, 👋, it's even more nice to meet you. It's safer. It's more honest.
Always be happy with you.👏👏
@9:36 !! Dude this needs to be shown more! Such a huge difference. Im 5'8 but i wouod forsure go woth the 10 inch risers
Indians version of a Dyna Low Rider S? Harley does need to take a leaf out of Indians book and bring out a version of THAT gauge cluster for their bikes though. It's good tech to bring the younger crew on board. Well done.
Edit. Sportster S and Nightster S gauge cluster comes pretty close in tech. 👍
Hell it's hard enough to get Harley to put an analog tach on anything not a bagger. Low Rider S was one of the few that does, but the ST ditched that in favor of the teeny tiny bar mount cluster which looks stupid on such a big bike.
@@mrvwbug4423 guess we'll see what the mid year releases bring. I do agree though. Coming from Sportbikes I'm used to having a tach. So my Softail and Sporty you have to shift by "feel", but sure makes cam selection hard when you have no idea what rev range you ride in. 😂
awesome video as always Block , riding out of Michigan Monday and hope to see you and your crew when i get to Florida for the Campout 👍
going to test ride today in Daytona. can't wait. the bike looks so nice , plus with all these premium parts , I may have to trade my harley...........
I got to see this in person yesterday and it's so cool..
It’s like the perfect Dyna without the beautiful death wobble.
First Indian since the ftr 750 I’ve had an interest in. Cool bike
Honestly it looks like a nice bike, but it's definitely meant to compete with the Low Rider S and ST. Personally I'm going to stick with my 22 Low Rider S and would suggest it over this one due to the LRS being cheaper by a Lil bit and the 5 gallon tank vs the 4 gallon on this one.
They're both great bikes. I reckon I'll end up getting this one over the Low Rider, but they really are neck and neck as far as what you're getting. Only reason Low Rider is cheaper is because ABS isn't standard
@Tom Oates I think even with the ABS the S is slightly cheaper, but I do agree both are great bikes in their own rights and I don't blame anyone for wanting one or the other in their garage
The tank size can be a deal breaker. Good comparison. It's good that Indian is bringing competition, nothing but good comes from it.
No way a single dealership has these in mid march. I was waiting 8 months for a 2022 Chief Dark Horse until I gave up and got a Low Rider S about 3 months ago. Also, whatever the dealership says in wait time, be prepared to wait another 4-6 months on top of the quote they give you.
I can comfortably tell you my local dealer has one sitting on the floor in Spirit Blue no less. Big St. Charles in STL. It looks awesome.
There's already dealership uncrating videos on this bike.
Blockhead lookin like Tawny Kitaen with his hair blowin in the wind 😂
I'm actually diggin' it. If a Harley dyna FXR and Indian had a baby, this is what that bike would look like.
Picked a great area to ride! FM1431 and Cow Creek.
Nice bike, even with all of the stock add ons I still wouldn't trade my Lowrider S for it, I would be interested in a non biased comparison between the two
Had the first year Challenger dark horse in bronze, great bike, but that throttle, can get smoothed out a little with a tune, same with the 116, but I thought they would fix that by now, since they do listen to the customer, Harley take note, lol, keep it rollin, see at the 120
Its 1k more dollars that the Lowriders S, makes less hp and torque, 2 valve engine, and has much less aftermarket. HD isn't worried. Cool bike tho.
@@fvgc454ss I put my 50bucks down on the Buell Super cruiser, rather have that next to my RG Spec
@@BrewTownBiker my buddy did as well. I have an FXR, Lowrider ST, turbo vrod, Buell xb12s and an EBR1190sx which is what the super crusier is running for the full drivetrain and suspension. Thinking bout heading to daytona just to check it out in person the 1190 is an animal. Ive had 15 different liter bikes cbr900rr 23 years ago was my first street bike onto a 929rr 954rr 1000rr zx10 zx 14 gsxr1000s couple R1s had em all and that 1190 is easily the fastest accelerating bike up to 140 ive been on. Inline will catch it on the big end but not until after that. Handling is unreal. Hope the super crusier does well I may also put a deposit down. Its gonna be a monster
Third Indian I don’t get the throttle complaints? Yes it’s different than HD but that doesn’t make it bad or wrong I love all three of mine 100,000 miles!
@@fvgc454ss not sure what your talking about this bike comes with more of everything than the HD! And the aftermarket thing every HD guy quotes is old ! One you don’t have to spend 4grand on this bike right out of the box like the HD and if you want to hop it up plenty to turn this thing into a goldzilla if you want! You can do anything to this you can do to an HD.
I notice the sport chief fairing windshield moves quite a bit in the wind. Seems like it could have a lot of vibration
I really wish they would raise them up a bit so they wont scrape
Great stuff as usual man. Was good seeing you again too.
Hey block, were you at the son's of speed vintage bike race that Billy lane does?....I swear there was a dude in the pits section looked exactly like you man....lol
That was me 😁 such a great event!
I really wish Indian did their own thing like the ftr instead of trying to build hd clones
So bummed I couldn’t make it 😔 great stuff as usual, Block
That sucks bro
I couldnt make it either bro 😓
@@NoCommie 😔
Good review, looks "and sounds" like it'll be a good bike, should do well in the market.
I don't know what the point is of inverting the forks. I wonder about the possibility of scuffing the tubes when pushing it around in the garage or hitting them with a wrench with all the brake work and tire repair. Any oil leak would still stay away from the brakes, wouldn't it?
The new Indian sport chief looks awesome!
The previous models looked bad. Making a copy of the Scout with a larger platform was a good idea.
But not as good as the harley lowrider s.. fit n finish does nor look on par with harley
See it in person in black. Looks so much better than the Harley
@@markanderson4353 Most Indians look better than HD.
So Jealous you all get to do this, I'm in Calgary, Canada and there is still ice on the ground and 2ft of snow in places....This winter is killing me! Great Video.
Another AWESOME review! These new Indians look so sharp, I would absolutley love to ride one! So regarding like & subscribe, does that mean if I REALLY LIKE the video, then I should hit the LIKE button twice also? Hahaha ... LOL!
awesome video as per usual, many varied opinions and body types overall a homerun bike and test ride.
Reminds me a lot of my Streetbob, but I want the Indian for the screen, definitely an upgrade
Nice, hopefully you all got to hit up Franklin's BBQ while you were there!
I would prefer just a regular speedometer, the kind with a needle, with a fuel gauge, temp gauge, and neutral light. I would like a 5-gallon gas tank too, and a good suspension. I would also prefer a throttle cable instead of all that electronic stuff. I just saw a test ride on you tube on a Scout and the throttle by wire failed and left him with nothing but idle speed.
Electronics has basically killed the auto industry. I hate to see it happen to motorcycles too. I would like to be able to simply work on everything on the bike myself. That's all a part of it. I don't do electrical work unless it's something very basic.
I’m from like about 5-6 hrs from Austin. Would of driven to go have a blockhead gathering!
i liked your video , if you come to france i would be happy to meet you and do a bit of road with you ,because i ordered my sport chief wich arrives in june 2023!!!
Idk why I do this to myself. The way my bank account is set up. I can't afford this, but damn do I love watching the reviews of this bike
That shirt your wearing is awesome man! Glad it went well!
Well, the gauge crushes the competition, that's for sure.
Hey blockhead should I trade in my 22 low rider s for this 😂 everything the low rider s shoulda came with for the price
Maybe a car if motorcycle don't have rider modes brake assist ect. Soulless piece's of sh!t and over priced gizmo crap. Engine braking correct gear use in the wet and braking distances skills which was required. Also reasonable speed to enjoy your smokes and beer and talking to your woman on the back. No full face helmet just total freedom!
Both are good bikes, Harley has wayyy better support, Indian slacking in that area.
Been waiting on this one. Your videos are just sooooo crispy
I'd have to ride one to really pass judgement. Looks good, but the last Indian Chief I rode was plagued by overly delayed and twitchy throttle in any power mode and just crap fit and finish, and a terrible riding position with the mids. IMHO Indian needs to do a cruiser in this style with the Power Pro motor from the Challenger, that is a MUCH better motor than the 116 Thunderstroke, at least based on riding a Challenger and a couple different bikes with the 116.
Looks great. They're definitely going after the LRS market with this one.
Harley can use some lessons about speedometers from Indian...🇨🇦✌️😎
Fking hope not! Analogue clock engine braking to slow down and replace electronic ignition with carburettor and rider modes shove it were sun don't shine!
Currently have a Scout Rogue and love it.. I'm willing to test ride the sport, but the looks don't do it for me.
Fuckin A I am definitely drooling here I want to throw on a two bros exhaust
Can’t not see like an elongated big toe nail when I look at this head on. I’m sure it is a fine bike (test drove a Dark horse bobber) but I personally would have loved to see a wider and more shapely fairing and windscreen.
You look good on that awesomeness! Keep up the good work!
Wow I'm impressed. Guess if you can get past not having the Harley name this looks amazing. Also excited to see what comes of the new Buell too.
Naw it's the homely sister in comparison to the lowrider s. Fit n finish does not look on par with harley
What I see from Indian, is they were looking at what the riders want and said, “say less fam, we’ll do more!”
Love this bike all except for the pipes.
I like the digital display. I think that's about all it has over the Low Rider S, though.
Better brakes, lower center of gravity, better front forks, brembo brakes, Nav, better rear suspension.
I'd argue, the Lowrider S has nothing over the Chief.
@@jordanjoestar8839 I agree. Indian is winning at this point, let's see what Harley can do.
@@jordanjoestar8839 Everything you listed besides nav and COG is up for debate. It's all an improvement for the Chief itself but not necessarily better than the LRS...and there are guys out there that prefer analog over digital. Not to mention the LRS is cheaper, has more power, and actual aftermarket support.
@@stevem4783 The only thing the LRS has over the Sport Chief is price, power, and aftermarket support. Mind you, those are huge things, but the brakes, suspension, lower center of gravity, Nav, etc. are all significantly better on the Sport Chief.
I prefer the LRS over anything Indian makes (besides the FTR), but everyone wins in the LRS vs Sport Chief argument because Harley is just gonna make better bikes as a result.
@@Lordturisas1 "significantly better" when describing brakes, suspension, and feel on a bike you have never ridden. Okay. This reminds me of the people who trashed the Sportster S constantly about it's single front disc before people actually got it on the road and realized the brake is very good.
Past that, I, for one, could not care less about nav on a bike. Especially if I have to pay a premium for it.
I agree on your latter point, competition is good, but let's reel in the universal praise until we all get a chance to ride it ourselves. Everything that is subjective is still up for debate.
What size were those risers and who made them …Thanks
Competition is always good for all of us! :)
Didn’t even notice the bird until you mentioned it lol
Nice with the taller risers and faring 😀
They need more cams. Indian will blow up with more variety for stage 2s
Hm. I‘m riding a 2021 Audace Carbon that I‘m getting kind of bored with so I‘m looking for a replacement. This one got my attention but after seeing some videos and looking at the specs, I am really curious where the progress is? I mean, my Guzzi offers everything this Indian offers. Except for that touchscreen. 320mm double-discs with brembos in the front, adjustable dual-shocks in the back, riding modes, cruise control.. My Guzzi even has a traction control that the Indian doesn‘t have. Yes, the engine has more torque (for less hp, though). The Audce was released in 2015. so it‘s 8 years of development and tech and all it did was giving us a touchscreen? That‘s quite disappointing.. 😒
Motorcycles and Pokémon have so much in common! You just want to catch them all and level them up😅
Bikes look great & the digital gauge is cool but prefer my analog gauges
Nice bike and colors
The Speedo is awesome with all the info
Of the gang of youtubers, your review is by far the best. Great job...
My neighbor just traded his softail for one of those Indians.. sharp looking bike. Just not my style
Wonder if this bikes gonna have the ‘Dyna Death Wobble’ as it has two rear shocks
No.....it's designed by Ola Stenegard
Regards from Mexico Indian is the best Motocicle Exito Amigo
The guy in the white helmet seems to be having trouble controlling the bike. Is that the fault of the motorcycle or the driver?
I want the black one.
hey can any body tell me what is Rear Cylinder Deactivation feature in sport chief model??
@ 9:08 best part! 10 HP 😂😂🤘⚡🤘
what's the top speed man. Love it all Tho looks like the bike for me here in New Zealand
HD need to look at Buell and Indian if they want to survive....Indians gauge and ride modes, Buells performance....
Ok, but Buell is barely surviving and HD sells way more bikes than Indian.
The previous chief was basically your competitor to the street bob, now they have something to compete with the lowrider s/fat bob
You gotta represent the long locks since John Maxwell is off the Tube world. Lol
I love Indian but I have a 2023 chief dark horse with 116ci stage 2 cam with freedom 2-1. Since I’ve got it done I have nothing but check engine light on and the bike shuts off. I take it to dealer in langhorn pa and they can’t seem to get the tuning right so to me. The bike is junk and I should’ve went with Harley
Sounds like this bike just scrapes when you corner it… wonder if the LRS is the same 😅
