I'd love to ehlers come in but i don't think it would be responsible to commit another big salary up front. Not unless you are moving out a big contract up front.
Problem Is… the guys you would like to move up front, no one wants them (or him).
No reason to bring this player in. Need a bit more grit and some defensively responsible players
Not a sens fans ... I’d be trying to ship chychrun if extended in a deal to the preds for askarov . You’d have your goaltending issues solved for good . Draft a really good dman at 7

I'm guessing that the Preds are not interested in moving Askarov, I think you'd be more likely to get them to move Saros. I would certainly be interested in getting one of those goalies though. Perhaps Fabbro as well if you're making a big deal as I think he could be a decent RHD for the second pair.

Staios made it very clear in his end of year press conference that we are 3-5 years away from the playoffs and that our goalies are fine. From that I am gathering that there will be very few trades. It looks like he will be depending on the players we have to get better to end up making the playoffs
we are not so many years away from the playoffs, he just doesn't want to make the same mistake as Dorion, that he recklessly starts the new season with the fact that we need the playoffs and that's it, but I didnt hear such a statement from Staios
Not to mention he has no money to pay them.
Since the Sens are far away from making the playoffs in a crowded Atlantic Division that has:
Panthers
Bruins
Red Wings
Lightning
Leafs
Sabres
that was why lowly paid caretaker Travis Green was hired .
I’m not sure we need to swing at another left shot D man. We need a goalie or a right shot D - I’d rather ship chychrun for a 1st and a really solid 3rd/4th line player
Ehlers isn't a D-man, he's a winger. However I agree you want to prioritize a right shot D and goalie.
