    Enough HP to do awesome donuts, drift through intersections during left turns, and get 4 points added to your drivers license when the local Sheriff sees you do it! Ask me how I know 🏁🤣

    Thats super solid for a near stock engine, I was guessing around 205 or so! Love these videos, keep em coming.

      Giving that crank hp for stock is 225... I was expecting 170-180 whp...

    • @midnight347
      @midnight347 3 года назад +1

      @@Soma-7662 well they dyno 180-190 bone stock with a 5 speed. Evidently the cats being gone and a high flow muffler with turndown really helps these cars in addition to bumping the timing. They gained a solid 30+ rwhp with just those mods that is good.

    Nice! Now I know for sure that my 1990 GT makes at least 225rwhp! 🤣🤙 These videos are fun to watch. It’d be great to see that same car with an intake, full exhaust, and maybe a small shot of the happy gas. A likely combo in its day!

    • @MormonMustang_

      MormonMustang for sure! I’ve got a tiny 75hp on mine and it ran 12.4 on slicks. Other mods of course too. I’d just like to see a dyno pull of said combo. Guessing 325ish.

    When Ford made non interference engines in the GT. New mustang GT uses some wacky timing gear that fails early and destroys the engine

    • @midnight347
      @midnight347 3 года назад

      The coyote is stout. Many people have well over 100k hard miles on them even with forced induction making 2x+ more than they made from the factory. It don't get much more solid than a coyote. I love a pushrod as well brings back memories and they sound great but I'm not buying the whole it was better in my day all things new suck idea some have. The coyote is beast mode period point blank.

    Love your dyno videos. Please consider doing a stock 1993 (not a Cobra). Looking to see if there's any proof to the drop in HP for '93.

    • @MormonMustang_
      @MormonMustang_ 4 года назад +1

      My 93 dyno'd 205 through an aod and still went 13.90s.

    • @midnight347
      @midnight347 3 года назад +1

      There was no drop in power they just changed the way they rated them. They make the same power as any other 5.0.
      *edit*
      The old speed density cars were a tad stronger but did not take as well to mods like cam etc. Basically all of them are the same but the speed density cars are a little stronger. 93 did not have less power just a diff way of rating.

  • @fast02gt
    @fast02gt 4 года назад

    That thing is strong. Just a h pipe and cat back. Thing was rated at 225 and put down 225.

    • @midnight347
      @midnight347 3 года назад

      It also has advanced timing that is at least 10-15 rwhp in itself probably. They dyno about 190 stock so this one is 30-35 rwhp above stock which is about right those mods really helped these foxes.

  • @rahoulloubles
    @rahoulloubles 4 года назад

    Thats rear wheel HP TQ numbers, Ford's rating was at the crank.
    I'd say thats great numbers on a 180,000 engine, OHC is great and all but the simplicity, low maintenance, easy to work on and given longevity of a pushrod engine has it beat.
    The proof its in the pudding.

    • @midnight347
      @midnight347 3 года назад

      The ohc motors have proven plenty reliable. They really aren't much if any harder to work on that is an old way of thinking. This car is NOT stock. The engine is but it has CATLESS mid and a turndown catback as well as advanced timing with higher octane fuel. Those mods DO make a difference obviously as these cars lay down about 190ish with a manual bone stock.
