To me the garden represents the necessary process of growth. Much like the growth cycle of a plant, a tree, or a fish in a pond, it symbolises the boy's desire to mature and to enter the mysterious world of adulthood. Similarly, the woman teacher, finding herself in an unpleasant and pressuring environment desires to be young again; to revert to the glory and the blurred comfort of childhood... that's why shes so drawn to the boy - he has opened her eyes to her past youth. To me, the teacher is the boy's gateway to a world of potential, whereas the boy is the teacher's refuge. Therefore, the garden as a embodiment of growth and maturation is the perfect middleground for them to meet

It's raining again... It was another dark cloudy day. Droplets of water as if there were a waterfall outside my window. Rain fell out of the skies. The smell of freshly brewed coffee, with the smell of freshly made cake resting on the window ledge. A phone layed next to it with a small puddle of spilled wine. As i watched this window for days I couldnt feel like going anywhere. Stuck inside a cage that didnt belong to me. I was a animal entrapped in someone elses trap. Things continued the same way for days on end. Looking outside at the same old dark raining skies.. I wonder.. If i was in love would these clouds of hatred, sadness, and fear would dissappear? But no. This world is full of lairs, cheats, and fake friends. I could never fall in love. Could never... The months changed from Spring to Summer... The raining season ended... I was still here. Trapped within someone elses Snare. The sunny days slowly came to an end. The room i was in never changed. I never changed. I didnt want to change. However.. Morever. You... You could... You could move mountains with your smile. You can make my rain clouds dissappear in a day. You are the reason im here. Not my parents, friends, nor anything else anyone could think of. IT WAS YOU! You are the one i held onto. Like a babybgrasping for her mothers hand. I held you tight once we met. Speaking of which we met one raining day... Like any normal day.. The rain fell as the gods need it be. But today was different. The phone buzzed with a text from someone i didnt know. It read "Hi, nice to meet you. Im ______ would you like to chat for abit?" I replied with "No thanks." hoping that she'd leave me alone. But it was my text that changed the whole entirety of my life. The next day... Days more... And more... Those clouds outside my window slowly faded away. We talked for hours. Days and nights it was almost as if we had fallen in love with eachother. When i talked with her. The clouds outside my window would turn to a mirage of colors with a soft violin playing in the background accompanied by a soft keystroke of a piano. But it still rained. The color was just different. Nothing had changed... Only the colors... But even so.. It was beautiful with her around me. (unfinished. No clue where this was going lmao (˘̩̩̩ε˘̩ƪ) ( Ĭ ^ Ĭ )

I was on an Emirates flight when I saw that they had kept a complete collection of Makoto Shinkai movies including Your Name in their catalogue. It was a happy surprise, especially after watching Your Name. But watching this movie made me an emotional mess. The piano they used heightened this feeling wonderfully and I have only praise left for this movie. Thank you so much for uploading this.

DAYZED... A small breeze... A chirp of a bird passing by.. The clear blue skies.. The warm touch of you. The smiles we interchanged. Laughter... But as these days continued. Our song had just started, as if Chopin wrote it himself. These ups and downs of our life was incredible. A day at the beach, another at home together in a silk touched bed. But... But... Everyhing has to end someday, this piece that had been playing has met its peak... Dark blue skies. The song of others played. Tuked away the sun hid from me. A warm touch held me hand. Yes I know. Shes gone. The countless days and nights. The song we had together was slowly coming to a stop. The light through the trees faded day by day. Soon they were gone, the hand I held beside me was all I had. Our daughter. But... But... She... This color? Looking at her, she brought light everywhere she went. As if we were polar opposites. "Daddy, dont be sad. Mommys gone but I still have you right?" The memories came back. " You surely do darling." Staring into the sunset, it was as if I could almost see the white blue skies again. " Daddy, I wanna hug!" "Sure little one. Haha" Grasping her, She brough the same amount of warmth as her mother. Closing my eyes and reopening them. The colors... They.. The sky.. How... As if the world was splattered by a painters paint. As if a raindbow had broken and fallen down to earth. The world around me gained new color. The sky was clear. And. I could finally let go of the past. And so.... I cried.
"A faint clap of thunder Clouded skies Perhaps rain comes If so, will you stay here with me?" ... I'm 26, almost 27. Haven't been truly in any relationship for the last five years. My colleagues and family often tell me to why not just find a random beautiful girl out there, but it's never that simple for me... though I hope that one day, I would finally find a partner who resonates with me the way Yukari to Takao... and eventually have my tanka reciprocated :)
I am glad to know it ends in a positive way. I'm gonna watch it tomorrow and I don't wanna feel like when I watched '5 centimeters per second', that ending was so sad :c
Yes, for Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence it's Ryuichi Sakamoto, but for The Garden Of Words it's Daisuke Kashiwa. @Piano's Passion Also the first thing I thought of was Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence.
This playlist is a playlist of a lifetime, whenever I'm tryin to relax or focus on doing my work, I always has this playlist playing on the background.
Garden of Words is a stunningly beautiful and emotionally powerful film that truly captures the essence of human connection and the beauty of nature. From the breathtakingly detailed animation to the poignant and heartfelt story, every element of this film is a masterpiece. The way the characters' lives intertwine and the depth of their relationship is portrayed with such subtlety and nuance that it's impossible not to be moved by their journey. And the way the rain and the gardens are depicted is simply mesmerizing - it's as if we can feel the wetness of the raindrops and the lushness of the foliage. It's films like this that remind us of the incredible power of animation to touch our hearts and souls in ways that no other medium can. Thank you, Makoto Shinkai, for creating such a beautiful and unforgettable masterpiece
I dont remember when I watched this movie but man everything about it is amazing. The animation, the story, and the beautiful music of course. Definitely one of my favorites of all time.
Absolutely stunning anime! The artwork was incredibly stunning, the story was heartwarming with great plot and characters, and the soundtrack was the cherry on top with gorgeous pieces filled with emotion. Thanks for the upload!
I frequent here as rain comes. So did today, with heavy raindrops above my classroom ceilings. I like the interacting sounds of raindrops outside and the sublime notes of piano.
It’s so clam and the movie is amazing.I juts love it when the both characters get together it’s just really beautiful. The animation quality is really really good!
This movie is my favourite Shinkai’s movie. 2 people who met and fell in love. But due to age gap and both r unstable in life they can't be together. Both yet to figure out about life found and saved each other in the most unexpected way.
I watched this movie back in 2014 and it really has stuck to me over all these years. I’ve watched it numerous times and looking back I can see how much it impacted my life since that first time I watched it …
I found Kashiwa Daisuke before I found this movie, but I can’t separate the two now. They’ve both meant so much to me at so many different points in my life. Its all just so perfect and emotional and beautiful and I don’t even know. I keep coming back to it after everything else has changed.
All of Shinkai's works are beautiful. But this film is the best in terms of music, visual, plot, and how the author build up the mood. Also literally breathtaking ending. Not Yukino, but miss Yukino. Wow. That's the best part.
Same thoughts. Also, even if Kimi no Nawa was his most successful and popular film, I still find Garden of Words better and much sophisticated. Such a timeless visual, animation and music. My favorite anime film up till now. 😊
This is my first time watching an animated Japanese Romantic Movie. Honest I got, I loved it. Beautifully done. Everything about is so good that I am going to watch again. This is what you call an animation, who ever it is..you really have some taste.
No matter how many times I watch it,I never get satisfied. The stagnation and undecisiveness then walking with own feet eventually...towards that future.Thank you for such a beautiful movie. This movie hits me hard specially on Rainy days...the drops of rain and the music...just surreal.
There was a little warmth in it which felt the heart with little sorrow, joy, happiness, regret and a hope which wants to fulfill. I really loved it so much it reflects the maturity of life it also says that age doesn't matter in love if it makes you feel happy.💕

It’s raining here at my school like heavy rain like in the anime movie and it’s fits so f*cking perfect and amazing dude like it’s Too Astonishing how Perfectly It Fits with the rain.

And so....
I cried.
boi u made me emotional...
A faint clap of thunder
Even if rain comes not
I will stay here
with this masterpiece
"A faint clap of thunder
Clouded skies
Perhaps rain comes
If so, will you stay here with me?"
...
That’s really one of the most beautiful animes i’ve ever seen. The quality and the details of all those animations are purely insane.
Made a desktop background slideshow out of the scenes in the movie.
Haha, glad Im not the only one
It would be beautiful but I would be so depressed lol
Its not really a depressing story though, It ends on such a positive note, if I remember correctly
I am glad to know it ends in a positive way. I'm gonna watch it tomorrow and I don't wanna feel like when I watched '5 centimeters per second', that ending was so sad :c
It's nothing as sad as or depressing as 5 centimeters per second. But god damn is it beautiful.
Here at my room, looking at the ceiling, hands behind my head and relaxing to my pillow, listening to this while thinking about my life.
How did you type this with hands behind your head??
@@rustyshackleford7541 wait lol
wow..beginning reminded me of "Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawerence"
Yep , the composer is Daisuke Kashiwa
+David Aguilar
thanks for info!
David Aguilar the composer is ryuichi sakamoto
Yes, for Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence it's Ryuichi Sakamoto, but for The Garden Of Words it's Daisuke Kashiwa. @Piano's Passion Also the first thing I thought of was Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence.
This playlist is a playlist of a lifetime, whenever I'm tryin to relax or focus on doing my work, I always has this playlist playing on the background.
brilliantly played....
10:30.....that's it ....that stuff right there....!!!!!
So pure and simple!!!
My fvrt part
Oh God, yes..🖤
This anime is just a master piece and this ost is perfection in itself
Truly a beautiful soundtrack, it has been years since i watched the movie but i still can't forget this soundtrack...
I dont remember when I watched this movie but man everything about it is amazing. The animation, the story, and the beautiful music of course. Definitely one of my favorites of all time.
10:30 Oh man so amazing...reminds me of the scene every time I hear it.
Absolutely stunning anime! The artwork was incredibly stunning, the story was heartwarming with great plot and characters, and the soundtrack was the cherry on top with gorgeous pieces filled with emotion. Thanks for the upload!
Rafe Robichaud yeah the artwork on the anime was amazing
“Un trueno lejano,
el cielo nublado,
en caso de que llueva,
¿te quedarás a mi lado?”
"Un trueno lejano,
Aún si no llueve,
me quedaré aquí,
Junto contigo."
Words cannot describe how beautiful this is , whenever I listen to this its just me and the music
I frequent here as rain comes. So did today, with heavy raindrops above my classroom ceilings. I like the interacting sounds of raindrops outside and the sublime notes of piano.
「あぁ、生きていてよかった」
この音楽は、私にそこまでの感情をも生み出させてくれます。
I did not understand this movie in the slightest, but holy crap the visuals and music were absolutely beautiful.
鳴る神の少し響みてさし曇り雨も降らぬか君を留めむ
鳴る神の少し響みて降らずとも吾は留まらむ妹し留めば
『万葉集』柿本人麻呂
素敵な恋の和歌ですね。
*Rest here traveller, your journey through nostalgia must be tiring.*
Never have I ever felt every single piece on a soundtrack to be beautiful. Ah, pure slice of heaven.
Such a beautiful anime with amazing and beautiful animation! These soundtracks are beautiful :D
And you have such a beautiful profile picture
It’s so clam and the movie is amazing.I juts love it when the both characters get together it’s just really beautiful. The animation quality is really really good!
This movie is my favourite Shinkai’s movie. 2 people who met and fell in love. But due to age gap and both r unstable in life they can't be together. Both yet to figure out about life found and saved each other in the most unexpected way.
Cuando escucho esta melodía, solo cierro mis ojos y siento la lluvia mojando mi rostro y mis pies....
Everytime it rains I watch this movie for it makes me feel as if the rain isn't as bad as I've perceived it to be.
This is something else. Pure Magic. Something I yearn for again and again.
this music reminds me of summer ending because i replayed it over and over for the summers end. haha what a feeling
jajajaja es que es buenísimo el soundtrack de esta película por eso xD
I watched this movie back in 2014 and it really has stuck to me over all these years. I’ve watched it numerous times and looking back I can see how much it impacted my life since that first time I watched it …
I miss my ex everytime i listen to this.We had a great story related to this song and movie that i will never forget❤️
I found Kashiwa Daisuke before I found this movie, but I can’t separate the two now. They’ve both meant so much to me at so many different points in my life. Its all just so perfect and emotional and beautiful and I don’t even know. I keep coming back to it after everything else has changed.
I don't know why but I felt so peaceful watching this movie.
@@whimsicalykn can't agree more. Even though it is only a short film, it can still gives a devastating experience
I love this movie. Beautiful animation, story and music
This is my first time watching an animated Japanese Romantic Movie. Honest I got, I loved it. Beautifully done. Everything about is so good that I am going to watch again. This is what you call an animation, who ever it is..you really have some taste.
Siva Naga next 5 centimeter per second or Kimi na nawa!
Kepler thanks for the recommendation
I used to watch garden of words with my ex, so heart breacking right now ..
Sat in Shinjuku Gyoen listening to this... might come back when it rains
No matter how many times I watch it,I never get satisfied. The stagnation and undecisiveness then walking with own feet eventually...towards that future.Thank you for such a beautiful movie. This movie hits me hard specially on Rainy days...the drops of rain and the music...just surreal.
hello, i would just like to say that if you're here appreciating this music, you have some great taste in music
Agreed! XD
The movie is short but beautiful...it holds so much meaning, people overlook it and take it for granted not truly understanding its true value...
Today, whilst it is a sunny day, I make a promise to myself to dance in the rain when the sky cries, whether they may be happy or sad tears.
....then I shall too!
Ohh wow. The beginning is just, I can't describe it well but I know that it just hit you deep in the feelings, and fill me with many, many emotions
la parte del minuto 10:30 es tan hermosa y se siente como duele en el alma y en el corazón ♥️😢
es la q más me gusta
Me Gustó mucho esta Película ❤ la recomiendo 👍🏻
Im just here because I like to cry myself to sleep
One of The Best Stories I've watched in this lifetime
*one of the greatest movies of all time*
I can listen to this all day long.
So relaxing, so calm.
Yet so sad.
It’s raining here! I’m sitting in my balcony and listening to this ❤️
This is just beautifully done the calming effect of the music alone is relaxing the flow of everything perfect.
Holy shit, I didn't even know that music can be so damn beautiful.
True
There was a little warmth in it which felt the heart with little sorrow, joy, happiness, regret and a hope which wants to fulfill. I really loved it so much it reflects the maturity of life it also says that age doesn't matter in love if it makes you feel happy.💕
It's so weird the feeling of ending things.
and sometimes its just a relief
@@Anail_Mhin but sometimes it's a feeling of losing something
@@fjrinf Thats because you do. And even if it hurts like hell, there are times you need to lose something in order to keep yourself going.
...holding on to something to hard can make you stand still while the world keeps turning.
Sorry about being so pathetic here, there were just some old memories in my head.
Remembering how immersed i was while watching this, it’s lovely 🌱💛
That was soo beautiful...I'll never forget.
Just watched the movie last night, it was really good! When the girl started to break down and cry, I started tearing up :')
Anyone in 2021 listening to these beautiful songs other than me?
