My 25 years new Giant mountain bike still running very well like the day I just bought it. Can’t find the excuse to buy another new one. This is the downside to buy a Giant bike. It will stay with you forever.
My first "legit" bike was an '06 Rincon. It stood up to a good ten years of abuse with one complete parts overhaul after seven years before it was stolen. I still remember how it danced on the trail after I'd replaced the drivetrain, forks, tires, brakes and such and how much fun it was to shred. It went everywhere and did everything. Now, I have a '17 ATX1 which is like a bigger version of the old Rincon (with a straight top tube unlike those silly bent ones Norco popularised). It doesn't have the same poppy personality, but with better tires, forks, brakes and drivetrain it glides over so much it's unbelievable. I'm looking forward to ten more years on a Giant.
I just started working for them and never realized how big they really are! I always thought they were a budget bike but actually, they are just a good bang for the buck! They r so cheap because they manufacture their own frames and wheels!! Unlike trek, Scott, and schwin(all bikes that giant manufactures) they don’t have to up charge because they actually make their own stuff! Great company!!
Interesting article about Giant and their top quality Aluminium: “We go to the extent of smelting our own aluminium, extrude all of our tubes, do all our own forming and do all of the heat treating,” roadcyclinguk.com/gear/giant-defy-aluminium-range-overview.html
I live in Taiwan and King Liu offers domestic riders great deals on his bikes. I just bought a new Roam 2 disc and it's like 200usd cheaper than the going price in the U.S.
My former boss laughed when he found out my bike was made in Taiwan then he saw it and loved he said it was more beautiful than his $5000 dollars specialized. Then later he learned his was manufacture in China. So never judge a book by its cover.
I'm kinda biased because the only bike i have had that wasn't giant fell apart but i did fucking love my Giant Rock for the years of pounding it stood up to and am now in love with my Giant Defy Advanced 2 2018, Hopefully i can also poke my nose into Giants amazing DH bikes soon :)
A lot of things are made in Taiwan and its highly likely to be good quality. Even big companies in airsoft are being manufactured there. Ps. Taiwan not china. Pps. Filipinos probably worked in those factories
Vladimir Lenin maybe not, Filipinos tend to go to other countries since they think they have more jobs there, and a lot think that even if they didnt finish school
They've come a long way. My first Giant is the TCR C3, but the bottom bracket actually visibly moves when applying load. After that it's couple off season (much cheaper) Kuota KOM and Cervelo R5. Thought to give aero bike a try and went for the Propel Advanced Pro, it puts down power nicely with the oversized BB, I ain't pro but quite like it. For what it matters the disc version is better because of the cable routing and descent, we can still choose the rim brake on SLR1 but kinda regret that a little bit. Yeah they're different bikes but I like the Propel.
How is the ride compared to the TCR? I have a 10 year old TCR and the thing I like about it is it feels so stable when cornering. Just lean it in and it follows a line with no drama.
You get twice the value compared to other brands. A giant Propel Ultegra di2, powermeter and cadans meter costs 5500 euro. If you buy the same at Trek or Specialized you pay at least 10000 euro.
I have the top of the line 2019 tarmac and the top tcr 2013. Tcr is on top! But it's almost equal. Tcr more comfort. Tarmac more aggressive. So both are very similar. I thought when I first rode my tarmac that Giant made the frame. It felt like tcr quality. I heard rumors Giant did. My 2 cents.
giant still selling a 135x5 skrew in type, but the rear convertion kit to 142x12 are discontinued.. luckily got the last spare in online shop and 1 in local store otherwise i will stuck in old rear system.. we should be aware on buying stuff..

Giant city trooper with double suspension.I am still searching this type of bike second hand.Unfortunately i live in greece.Biking in the city in greece is like you ride a horse.Very bad road network.I hope one day to enjoy the city trooper.
It went together easily in less than an hour. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Make sure the front fork is forward or the pedals will hit the front tire. Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. I like my new 29" Schwinn. It will be used for casual rides with my friend.
Taiwanese people say that it is, while China (and a lot of other countries) claim that it is part of China. Taiwan is a sovereign and independent nation as part of Republic of China (ROC). It is not a new nation where it is separated from both PRC in the Mainland and Republic of China.

@@kinangeagle133 But if they are uneducated they will get no more than minimum wage. That might be more than in their own country and they might also benefit from the general standard of living in the other country. This is essentially what happens in Britain. People work for minimum wage but receive the benefits of a free health service, stable government etc. I think economic migration is short sighted and can be bad for both nations, especially regarding skilled labour. People in Britain who are for migrant labour say how our health service could not run without foreign doctors but it could, we would train our own. By making quality products (bicycles in this case) and supplying them at affordable and value for money prices without ripping off buyers
Exactly. for what I paid for my Giant, the was no competitor with close to the same price with the level of components I got.

Giant Quality and Value for Money...👍
Giant,so good! hope I can have a tcr one day!
Their TCR model is really a good fit for RB users with very reasonable price. The first time I tried it, loved it all the way! :)
High quality at reasonable price.. :)
I rode a Giant Cadex for a while back in the day. It really was a nice ride👍

It's really trustable bicycles . Because I used that one 👌💯🚲🚲🚲
