Hello, im an hobby olympic lifter gone cyclist, is it ever detremental to squat and deadlift or is it ok as long as i get my miles in on the bike? Thanks for the video!
If I was to start lifting weights and focusing on my upper body would that balance out when I commute to work and back? It's around 8 miles so 16ish miles to and from. I'm thinking that since I'm pedaling and my legs are engaged would I need to do lower body weight lifting? My main focus in not to be a professional I just want to be fit and lose some unnecessary weight.
Shuyu cycling does not engage your posterior chain - lower back/erectors, glutes and hamstrings. Not only that, but it doesn’t build strength. Consider a 3x5 barbell program like Starting Strength linear progression.
I always considered myself an athlete who could gain weight, but the reality was I had always had a lousy I started adhering to my Agoge Diet, I started building muscle quickly!
Great content Ollie. Keep it up!
