    Excellent video! I also had a great time judging these hot sauces! It's definitely top being critical against then, as you said they were all quite delicious sauces and I also felt I wasn't sure how qualified I necessarily am to be a judge but I do eat a lot of hot sauce so at least I can compare styles! Rob you did a wonderful job with that video! First I like how you demonstrated humility with being chosen a judge by saying so at least twice. Secondly you did a great job describing all the categories you judged sauces. I could almost imagine tasting them all. You also did an exceptional job not judging to hard on lack of heat 🔥...I know that was difficult! Lastly I love the editing to proper video length and taking out all the swallowing noises. I thoughly enjoyed but did miss your theme song, "I grow hot peppers". Take care and stay safe!

      @@7PotClub That makes sense, Last year was my first time and started my seeds in April and had very tiny pepper plants with even fewer pods so I'm hoping to give them more time this year. I started my seeds a week ago and also hope I didn't start too early.

    • @7PotClub

      No, it's not necessary. There are a lot of sauces made with fresh peppers. It just brings out different flavors. Just like you can buy fresh-packed pickles or fermented ones.

    Do you find much for the more exotic hot seeds sold locally in your area Sir?
    All the mail order shops are warning weeks to deliver and time is burning to plant.
    Something like Chocolate Habenero (probably pretty tame and plain for this group)
    Basically, options beyond Burpee

    • @7PotClub
      @7PotClub  3 года назад

      Where are you located?

    • @scottj719
      @scottj719 3 года назад

      @@7PotClub I'm just across the river from you. I am looking for pepper seeds more exotic than Burpee, for example chocolate habenero. That reminds me, I should see if Miss Market has their supply yet, I've bought Fatali there before. I'm not opposed to an out of state supplier, it's just looking like all the cooped up people looking for something to do are really hitting the seed suppliers hard and they are sold out or delayed. Thanks Sir!

    • @7PotClub
      @7PotClub  3 года назад

      I've never purchased any of my pepper seeds locally. I wouldn't know where to look. I get most of my seeds from a grower in the Canary Islands. People do some trading (and possibly selling) on the Facebook group Minnesota Hot Pepper Community, so that's a place to check out. But to buy exotic varieties, you really need to purchase online. A really good source is Jimmy Pickles, who is located in Pennsylvania: jppepperseeds.com

    Hi Rob, awesome video. Have a question for ya. I searched far and wide and was FINALLY able to get some Aji Charapita seeds. Now I've seen online saying this stuff goes for THOUSANDS of dollars per pound. But I just find that hard to believe. Was wondering is there any truth to this, or if you could shed some light on the subject. Because if its true im in the wrong line of work, lol.

    • @7PotClub
      @7PotClub  3 года назад

      The value of Charapita powder is all based on one article from several years ago. Now that this pepper is much more popular and available, I'll bet that inflated price has come down, if it ever was that high. But it is very labor intensive to pick and process so many tiny pods, and it takes thousands to create a pound or kilo of dried powder. 😀
