- The greatest challenge for kids in the 90s was Nickelodeon GUTS' mighty Aggro crag. In a similar way to Olmec's temple from Legends of the Hidden Temple, the original crag, the mega crag, and the super aggro crag have all become icons of the golden age of Nickelodeon game shows and Nick GaS. Here are some of the best aggro crag runs and stories from across the shows more than 100 full episodes as well as a general history and breakdown of the crag itself.
When I was in EMT school I was on a clinical at a Brevard County fire station, they had the trophy sitting on the entertainment center underneath the tv. One of the guys won back in the day, I couldn't believe that I was actually in the presence of a Guts champion. The trophy was just as impressive and magnificent as I remembered. I touched it lol
Nick really needs to bring back the competition game shows. They were so entertaining and exciting to watch as a kid.
nah they cant do that now. what they gonna do? skibidi toilet racing?
@5:10 bro a detailed breakdown of the Guts crags is exactly what I came here for
“Both goofy…but one’s extreme”. Stellar point
“How can you not be romantic about the aggrocrag”. Yet another banger
I still remember one episode from Global Guts. It was Artiom vs Amit vs Anita. Artiom was going into the crag in the lead, but he jumped over a rock at the start, disqualifying him. As a kid that SENT me
Ok I watched this as a kid, and there is just one single moment that I remember from it after all these years. I've gone looking a few times to find the clip, and have yet to find it. I was hoping it would be here, but alas...
I remember a sort of derpy, unathletic looking smallish girl (I don't know if that's how it was but it's what I remember). But she absolutely blows away her competition on the crag. She gets to the top several seconds before them. But when she reaches the top, she's informed that she missed the very first actuator at the very bottom. So without hesitation in one of the most badass things I've ever seen a person do, she makes good use of that bungee harness and leaps all the way back down to the bottom of the crag in a single bound. Dead on point next to the actuator. Her feet only touch the ground for a second, because she uses the bounce of the bungee cord to leap all the way back up to the finish in another single bound - still winning first place. That whole leap to the bottom and back up again was one smooth motion that only took like 3 seconds.
From what I've seen, you're probably the most likely to remember or be able to find this moment? Please tell me this was real and my memory on this isn't just fucked somehow.
I did some looking and cannot find the crag run in question. It might be from the spin-off, “My Family’s Got GUTS”. I’ll respond to this comment again if I happen to find it!
I think the girl you referring to is Ginger “Little Dynamite” Shellic. She actually misses the last actuator before the rock climb so she jump down quick and pressed it with her foot and still beat out David and Derek in the Crag event.
@@Theterminato2013 if this is the event it is amazing how plastic memories are.
Going from a small hop to touch the button with their foot to a massive 30 foot leap to the bottom and then back to the top.
@Got A Banana Damn - you win! Now I just have to find this clip!
@@dstinnettmusic To be fair, to a kid a lot of things look much larger. I've had multiple moments where I revisit things I remember being massive as a kid and being like, "wow that's smaller than I remember"
If Stepan was on his own episode, he probably would’ve won the rock.
The pride of Ukraine 🇺🇦
Stephan’s one of the best CIS members of the show alongside Artiom.
13:01 it’s season 4 episode 4 because the rules changed drastically for one event going forward and the medal count on that episode accurately reflects the episode aired.
Just randomly thought about this and googled it and came across this video. This is sick!!! Great video: 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
I was at Nick studios for an event one weekend and I climbed it, the bells and whistles weren’t working since this wasn’t for GUTS but it was still fun.
There’s a series of villains from these Nick Game Shows.
The Slopstacle Course
The Temple Guards
The Aggro/Mega Crag
And Sir Killalot
how is this not more watched? WTF.
subbed - liked, what the bane youtube - this should be at the top of recomended.
That's the same thing that happened to Leeann from the UK. She had a perfect score heading to the Mega Crag.
Great job on this vid! I didn't even know there was a SUPER MEGA Aggro Crag. I thought the GUTS trophy was the coolest thing ever as a kid and frankly it's right up there with Olympic gold.
But now let's take it over to Mo for the results, MO!
Dude, your intros are funny as hell! Seriously.
I'm just glad I can say I was subbed to this channel before it hit 50k :D
I’ll remember this OG comment if I ever hit that level 😤
Later though, GUTS and the crag would be revived and returned to Universal Orlando in 2008
Just found your channel but this is really great stuff, looking forward to the rest of the "Survivor" vids.
The hand rail rule in season 3 was only enforced twice and never enforced again, even when others used it to reach the top of the crag...
Wow I didn’t know that. They did my man Gary dirty
@@PeeledEyesif you thought Gary's disqualification was bad, the second time the rule was enforced had actually cost a contestant (Joshua) the gold medal, believe it or not.
@@PeeledEyes Exactly. “Wild” Pat Petko was also caught using the railing on the Mega Crag, but didn’t get penalized like Joshua and Gary did.
@@Theterminato2013it was at that point they dropped the railing rule cause they realized how unfair it was. Still, that rule screwed someone out of all star status and another out of a 🥇.
Katya’s poor 1st half performance setup Stepan a steep deficit he had to climb up. Had he faced Santiago and Oren from the very beginning, there’s no doubt he would’ve won it all and gave the CIS a gold medal.
Nickelodeon GUTS was like the kids version of American Gladiators here.
This is sick. Thanks for this, man!
Thanks! I’m really glad you liked it!
that Aggro Crag stuck to my mind in the 2000s
This was always so fun to watch as a kid me and my cousins had fav colors so we'd always be pulling for one team I was always team blue
Man, Guts was sooo damn good.
Is there any way to find out which Guts color was statistically the best? Like how you did it with Legends of the Hidden Temple? Just curious if there is any tangible stats to support having a particular jersey as being more lucky than others
I could invest the next hour and answer that for you but I'm not really dying to know myself lol.
I'm so glad someone compiled a presentation that gives a look into the historical significance and importance of the aggro crag. Lmfao, you are absolutely right too, nobody is calling u soft of u got a piece of the crag. I'd love to track down the piece of the crag and hear from its winner.
A Guts documentary!! I wish I could sub twice
Dude your content is awesome I randomly thought about this stuff and I’m amazed
Why did stuntwoman anna mercedes morris hurt her knee in this nickelodeon guts episode?
The crag they lifted in the first season is an abomination. Crazy they lit those with glow sticks. For the last year I've been working on a photo accurate replica of the Aggro Crag trophy. I have a finished one sitting in my room rn which is pretty glorious but I'm currently getting an even better one built. I also just finished up 3d modeling the medal. DDDDDDDoooo You Have It? Guts!
This was a great video. I’d love to see u do a vid on Nick Arcade!
The aggrocrag peaks always looked like three faces, and having it evolve to look more menacing than the last remind me of three stage evolution Pokémon; sure the final stage is the strongest but one shouldn’t dismiss the previous two iterations.
great stuff, bro!
I love how you used KH music over the Aggro crag victories xD
A reference from Toonami
this was fucking sick good shit guy
The mega crag tried to look like a real mountain but the players were confused on which area they have to climb
Captain Kirk is climbing a mountain. Why is he climbing a mountain? To hug the mountain. To envelope them mountain. Why is he climbing a mountain? Because he's in love.
Amazing video! I love GUTS! :D
Would you do a video on Double Dare?
Thank you! Maybe at some point but I’m definitely taking a break from Nick GaS stuff for a little bit. The brain can only take so many hours of 90s children’s game shows
2:59 The Shart Zone
I remember when they started Global Guts and I was hype because I thought these countries would be competing and, after a few weeks, there'd be a definitive country that won. But it kept going on, and on, and on, and on, and I just lost interest.
It would have been cool though if they did an invitational some years later of the fastest Crag completionists.
Y’all don’t understand how bad I wanted to be on this show! Never saw auditions or anything. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt I would crushed many of those courses. I put that on my mamma!
Bruh RIP jason
First the aggrocrag
"cam? Cam...Cam are you out there? Cam! Cam, wait no!"
- Cam's dad
Wait wait wait, I found the episode Pat McAfee competed on Guts, and he DID win a piece of the Crag if I recall correctly. He earned that piece of the beast, unless I’m somehow horribly mistaken
I looked through every episode and can confirm he never appeared on the show. Maybe he was on a different Nick show? Either way, his claim to the crag is illegitimate smh
@@PeeledEyes Man, thats disappointing. What a fraud, especially if he bought a real/replica piece of agro crag.
Are you sure you’re not thinking of Pat Petko
You missed the crag from my family's got guts
YOU GO IN THAT CRAG
Anybody wondering what the 2 Ukrainian kids are up to now??
nice
Your vid is missing 1 last crag, there was one more crag that GUTS would have. The one from the My Family's got Guts, the nick at nite short runned series of Guts
We do not speak of "My Family's Got Guts".
7:05 god truth and i have proof, SAM IS MY WIFE :)
Imagine being on one of those lame glorified green screen game shows from 80s Nick and then seeing the cool
90s Nick game shows
What bothered me in Global Guts was, when Mike calls out the player from that country, he then says, "Playing for the Commonwealth of Independence States," aka C.I.S. Here are my questions,
1, Why does C.I.S. had to be said instead of the country's name, and 2, is that country(s) copyrighted for reasons?
I believe it was a post Soviet Union break up thing. In the mid 90s the countries that were formerly part of the Soviet Union were still working out how they would be governed and I believe C.I.S is how they referred to themselves in international politics during that process
@@PeeledEyes Makes perfect sense. Thanks for letting know. Now I know after many years of hearing C.I.S. for a long time.
Something just occurred to me--how did the harness/line travel with the kids through The Shard Zone? When the camera cuts back suddenly they're on the other side and the line is going straight upward... Did I just uncover some kind of moon landing hoax-level conspiracy?
Also, I like your editing style a lot.
also RIP my ears, thanks Mike O'Malley
They had to climb around the Shard Zone, but had to reach inside due to a target being hidden inside the railings. Come to think of it, it also may be why the MegaCrag didn’t have the rock slide presumably due to the Shard Zone’s setup making it too easy for the rocks to get stuck in between the railings.
the original aggrocrag was kinda whack compared to the other two
I actually think the original looks the coolest. I'm not a huge fan of all those shards and the metal look of the newer ones.
The 2nd version of the OG Aggro Crag in season 2 look cool and very colorful.
Good evening everyone. (Jesus died to forgive us of all wrong doing. He rose to life 3 days after. His father is God the creator. The creator of all things.)
