The only ones at fault for Michael Larson winning so much money is CBS. When you use only 5 patters on the show then it means that if someone studied it hard enough then they could figure it out as to when to hit the stop button which he did. He didn’t use any outside help or manipulate the board in any way so had they refused to pay him then that would have caused way more problems. The man who cheated on the show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire really did cheat and he actually got busted later on when it was discovered that someone was helping him win by coughing at the right answer.

But then, when you see how it was set up before they changed it (post Mike Larson), it was set up against the players to make sure they got whammies. That doesn't seem right, either. But if counting cards gets you kicked out of a casino, then this would be the same thing. But, as you pointed out--it's not illegal. The only way you could say Mike Larson cheated is if there was a law in place about it. And I don't see how you could write a law saying you can't study gameshows to find patterns. I don't see how you can compare Larson to the Quiz Show scandal.

Like Blackjack card counters who are unfairly treated like cheaters, Mike broke no rules and simply exploited a weakness in the game. And the people running the game can't have that. Also, achieving his game show success purely by chance would not have been impossible, just very improbable! A rough calculation (each spin is an independent event with a binary outcome, whammy or no whammy) suggests he would have had a 1 in 35 trillion chance of winning. A very low probability, but not zero! :-)

The Cricket Cage run is a classic. It’s likely they should have started in the observatory. To be honest, it was sneaky to let them into the throne room with the treasure being on the other side. Maybe the producers should have locked that room from the pit. That’s a tough run as it stands because they would have had to go through the entire temple to get to the treasure.

Hey @PeeledEyes: I thought I'd point out some errors in this video: 1. In the Structure portion of this video, at 3:40 you said that the first 4 teams to ring their gongs in the Moat moved on to the Steps of Knowledge. This is true in the rules for the show. However, there were exceptions to this rule in 2 episodes due to extenuating circumstances: A. In Episode 5 ("John Henry's Lost Hammer"), a 5th team (the Purple Parrots) was allowed to ring their gong in the Moat crossing because the 4th place Green Monkeys were disqualified for not crossing the moat properly. (The male Monkey fell into the moat, but rang their gong instead of going back as instructed by the team's spotter) B. In Episode 54 ("Applewood Amulet of Emiliano Zapata"), the Silver Snakes never rang their gong during the filmed Moat crossing, but replaced the 4th place Blue Barracudas because the show's judges ruled that a spotter had erroneously sent 1 of the Snakes' members back to retry the moat crossing after they had correctly crossed the moat. 2. During the Purple Parrots portion, you stated that the Purple Parrots' first temple win wasn't until the series' 71st episode, but your graphic stated that it was episode 73. Neither of these are correct, as the first Purple Parrots temple victory was in Episode 72 ("Snakeskin Boots of Billy the Kid"). 3. During the Red Jaguars portion, you stated that there were 44 unique rooms in the temple's layouts. There were actually 45. 4. During the Bobby portion, you mistakenly referred to The Tomb of the Ancient Kings as "Tomb of the forgotten Kings". 5. During the Blue Barracudas portion, you said that Maggie (Episode 110 - "Mummified Hand of the Egyptian King") had the dubious honor of being the only contestant who had dropped a Pendant of Life during their run. This is incorrect. In episode 53 ("Lucky Medallion of Atocha") Ty of the Orange Iguanas dropped his Pendant of Life before even getting through the temple gate, only to have it thrown back to him (by an unknown entity believed to be Kirk Fogg) just as he was caught by a Temple Guard in the Ledges. 6. In the Silver Snakes portion, you said that their Temple Run victory in "Galileo's Cannonball" was in "the first episode of Legends to complete production". This is incorrect. Galileo's Cannonball was the 3rd episode to complete production, after "Blackbeard's Treasure Map" (ep.1) and "Golden Cup of Belshazzar" (ep.2). We know this because in 2007 Nickelodeon aired Season 3 Legends episodes starting with Episode 120 ("Jewel-Encrusted Egg of Catherine the Great"), and working backward to Episode 102 ("Royal Torque of Queen Boadicea"). At that time NickGAS started airing Season 3 episodes in forwards production order, with the last 19 episodes aired being in the exact reverse order as those aired on Nickelodeon. NickGAS then aired the Season 1 episodes in production order. Finally: 7:49-8:03. Now don't you wish you could take that back?!!! (I'm a Lightning Fan)

Something I'm a little surprised you didn't mention about Sean's alphabetical voting strategy was that more of Pagong had names starting with letters in the first half of the alphabet, while Tagi's names were generally later in the alphabet. So he basically got to contribute to the pagonging without looking bad. Admittedly I don't think he's ever confirmed that that's what he was going for, so maybe it was just a coincidence - but it was certainly convenient that he chose a voting strategy at the merge that would initially target only the other tribe. Anyway, great video, I came here from your Africa one - deserves more views!

I remember when they started Global Guts and I was hype because I thought these countries would be competing and, after a few weeks, there'd be a definitive country that won. But it kept going on, and on, and on, and on, and I just lost interest. It would have been cool though if they did an invitational some years later of the fastest Crag completionists.
