Being an engineer myself, I have a soft spot for mechanics and measurements. I picked up the full version in a Black Friday deal last year. It did help to analyze issues in my swing, but it doesn't tell you anything about the rest of your arms/lower body. It is not too difficult to understand the numbers really, but making conclusions on what to improve is. But if you have slow motion filming on your mobile phone, you can use that. use something else for checking low point. Together it did work for me, finding out the reason why my backswing underarm rotation is often literally off the charts (HM stops the curve display beyond 160 degrees, LOL) and what I was doing next to compensate.
As for the audio feedback, you can reverse the logic (as in: it sounds only if you go over the thresholds, which it will never do at setup). Still I find it also not too effective for myself, I need to slow down my swing to such a degree that I may as well read the numbers off the screen in real time for feedback.
I do actually love the app upgrade, the orginal version was quite tablet oriented. which is not practical if you use it on the driving range.

Thank you for this great review. Wanted to share my experience - I’ve owned one for about 1.5 years and am a low handicap. I’ve found it extremely helpful in understanding if wrist position is part of an issue in my swing.
I will say I found it very educational in how your grip / setup position is connected to wrist position at top and then back to impact. Now that I understand that, it’s helped me understand the proper feel that I use in my practice swing. Per other comments, I have a thorough understanding of the swing given years of competitive golf, so that’s where I found this very useful.

Great review as you always do…Here’s my biggest hang up with this device…It’s absolutely a great device for what it does…BUT, the golf swing is a sequence of dozens of movements that work all together. So, if you are someone who has a decent swing and are looking to improve and you just change one thing, you may need to change a whole host of other parts of your swing to accommodate that change…and unless you are steeped in knowledge of golf swing mechanics, and your body’s limitations (you may be bending your wrist in a certain way to compensate for a different movement you are incapable of doing because of an injury)….this thing could cause more problems than it helps…I think it’s a great tool for a coach who knows these things, but not for 90%+ of ams who know very little about the entire swing and their own body…spend the $$$$ on a coach.

Not sure if this is going to make sense but As a right handed golfer, why didn't they place this gizmo on the right hand? I'm not sure if you or maybe its just me, but I notice it is easier to think of extending the right hand than it is to flex or even flatten the left/lead wrist on the top. On the downswing and at impact, it is easier for your mind to think about extending the right wrist than it is to flex (maybe even think) about compressing the left or lead wrist. Anything I do with the right hand comes naturally since I am right handed. It is like writing I guess; It would be natural to grab the pen and write using the right hand if you are right handed than it is to use the left. By the way, I have the Hackmotion and love it. I have never been more perplexed in my life since getting this.

Not 100% sure but I thought I saw it could work on your lead or trail hand...and it works for both LH/RH...but I agree that everyone is showing it on their lead hand.

I like it and I use mine. I also have lessons as well. But when at home it helps me reinforce what I’ve learned. Great investment for me.

Yeah I think pairing it with lessons is a great way to get the most out of it.

I think it was ok but I sent mine back. I just felt there are too many variables to consider and I didn’t want to lay the extra for the rotation data. Even with fixing my wrist flex, I still had shots that went crazy due to other factors

For sure, I think this is my biggest concern with it.

I like your honest review. There are SO many things that can go wrong in a golf swing. It's best to get a lesson first and if the coach says you have a wrist problem and this would be useful, then get it. Otherwise think twice.

It didn’t work for me and I returned it. Your wrists can be in a good position per HackMotion but still be completely wrong.

I used mine for 15 minutes. Then sold it. Spend your money on lessons from a human.
