The suggestions you gave completely changed my golf playing. For the first time, I felt and heard that I was really hitting the ball, so I enjoy the irons. Everyone's problem is different. but with this suggestion I realized that I was compressing the ball for the first time. Even his voice came out different when I hit it.That's why I owe you.Much Love !
Hi Jonathan! Sorry for the long message but this was a very important video. I have to tell you that I’ve been trying to follow your advice as much as possible. But my game is still so inconsistent. Lately, I’ve lost a lot of distance, my strikes were weak, and as a consequence I know I’ve started using my arms more and more. My finish often ended with my trail foot still fairly flat. After watching this video, you’ve taught me the missing critical piece. I’ve also found that I was striking the ball near the hozzle very consistently. By moving the shoulder over the lead ankle, I am now hitting the sweet spot, I’ve gained a ton of power and I am now compressing the ball almost effortlessly and my body ends up facing way left of target with the proper finish without even trying. Now I have to work on the timing. I need to find a camera to video my swing. Then we can work together to fix whatever else may be missing. Thank you!
Thanks for a great tip. Years ago when I played my best ( +4 ) golf, I was keenly aware of the importance of planting my left feel as I transitioned. Crushed 8 irons 170 yards. 20 years away from the game and having turned to Stack & Tilt I now understand that your left shoulder over ankle move yields essentially the same result! Can’t wait to go out and play tomorrow. Thank you!
Thank you--it sucks that the courses are all gradually closing here in Ontario with the coming of winter, however, bringing these swing thoughts to the course for the last few rounds before the snow flies, can only help.
Great advice. I have been hitting fat shots and was getting really frustrated. Tried this today and hit the ball great taking a nice little divot 😊 Thanks 🙏
Love the videos you put out they are such a help! They way you get across what we should be feeling during the movements is so key. Would you be able to do a video or 2 that kind of covers the whole take away with check points and feelings in brief & the downswing sequence the same so we can bring it all together and use the feelings you describe as we go through it in a more fluid way.
This is gold, once again. The timing of my right side bend literally dictates everything for me. When it's on, I'll shoot around par. When it's off, it gets ugly.
I think of keeping my head in front of the ball on the backswing and this helps me stay on the left side during the downswing. So weight moves onto right foot but no swaying. Is this OK too? Thanks for another thought provoking vid Jonathan. Keep it up.
I wouldn’t recommend keeping the head in front of the ball as the head needs to be central. It sounds like a Stack & Tilt golf swing is what you’re looking for 👍🏼
I'm no professional but I had massive problems trying this same thing. I'd come in steep and flip my wrists top accommodate it. Try head just behind the ball, but belly button "feels" in front of the ball instead. Worked great for me. Just an idea though
Just the drill I was looking for at the moment. I thought a swift too much on the left but seems to be good. Now a new problem : all club distances have changed !!😂😂😂
I struggle with all the faults you mention at the beginning. I am hurting my back also. Not quite getting how to actually do or execute what you are suggesting. Nothing lacking in your instruction just hard to learn on my own.
It could be a number of other things causing your back pain. I do online lessons on Skillest if you want to work one to one. There’s a link in the video description 👍🏼
When finishing back swing, my left shoulder is over top of right toe. It's not very clear how you transfer from left to right ankle, your shoulder was already facing camera when you doing that
Left shoulder on top of the right ankle at the top of the swing sounds like too much upper body lateral movement away from the target in the backswing. You’ll have way more work to do from the position

I think this is actually working for me. Thanks a lot!

Great to hear Bob. Stack & Tilt is necessarily what I teach, but it does have some great moves for the recreational golfer 🤙🏻

My pleasure. Absolutely, also a great move to grind on at home during the winter 🤙🏻
Fantastic tip!! Pure gold. Thank you!! 🙏🏼

Thanks Adam. I have a rare takeaway video coming out soon 👍🏼

Same
Excellent
Good advice, gunna give it a try. You said you hit the ball well but i saw it finished only about 10' in front of you. 🤔😛😄👍🍻
Haha a good shot past my shadow
hi,when we hit with intent then we do good, the shots that we think we can baby then always end up bad.hard game this golf.thank you

Another nice video, JC.
Glad you liked it Tom!
I know you said this is an iron vidoe but what is the concept for Fairway Woods then? Still get that left shoulder over my left ankle?
what will it be the same for long iron?
Just the drill I was looking for at the moment. I thought a swift too much on the left but seems to be good. Now a new problem : all club distances have changed !!😂😂😂
You will certainly have to adjust your distances after doing this haha 👍🏼
Yes ! The problem will be the short par 4, they will be too short for driver from the tee now !!😂😂
What about with driver?

@@jchowngolf Cool. Thanks.
stack & tilt
Stack & Tilt and modern golf instruction is very similar. Not quite a full stack and tilt swing
Leon The professional?

@@jchowngolf I mean at the line of right leg, I notice in your demo swing, shoulder turn is very limited
👍
Thanks Terry!
