Me, my family, aunt, uncle and cousins went from largs to wee cumbria often in my dads wee boat and spent the day there in the 70's when we were kids. Great memories, happy days!
12:19 big tanks are the compressed Air receivers for the typhon fog horn. Generators RR powered along with compressors. Electronics for charging batteries for living and communications, and workshop. Plus timing control for foghorn.
What a beautiful place. The couple that live on there alone are so lucky. I could quite easily live on a deserted island with just my husband and cat! Loved the tipi tent too. Thanks to you and Lisa for taking us along on your adventure.
The old machines you found are for generating electricity for the lighthouse. The tanks are quite probably fuel tanks to keep the engines going since you could not let the light go out under any circumstances. What a gorgeous house too! It could look so beautiful if someone cleaned it up... Would be a perfect getaway from modern life
A lot of the gear will also be for the old fog horn and it`s reservoir tanks. I can remember hearing a lot of the fog horns along the coast when I was a kid growing up on the Ayrshire coast! Spooky sounding things. I always wondered about the buildings on this wee island! Wouldn`t it be cool if those buildings were preserved and restored!
Loved this one for sure! The views were wonderful! And I don't mind you saying guys BUT why not just say guys and gals ? I'm so use to you saying guys I don't know how I'd feel if you stopped completely. Look forward to seeing more escapades! Hi Lisa !
It's after midnight here, my pet bird is in his cage under his cover, and all I can here is him twittering to the seagulls in your video 😂 Fantastic place, really beautiful. Your overnight camping is more like glamping, very posh. Thanks to you both , great tour 😊
Brilliant explore amazing lighthouse with such beautiful views, Love the stairs showing the magnificent paint peel. Awesome video I enjoyed guys Thank You
Amazingly good condition considering the salt water is so hard on things. The castle is well cool but that basement was creepy AF! Amazing video, Dale and Lisa. You wore me out! ;) Well done!
Great to see you Dale and Lisa. Some beautiful scenery. Didn’t realise there was so much to see on the island. Been to Great Cumbrae many times, so maybe next time go to Little Cumbrae.
Oh wowwww! That is amazing, fantastic explores! I’ve not seen inside a lighthouse before. Love the engineering stuff too. AND a castle! Look at those views! And a red phone box! Seals! Seagulls! How did you cram it all into a half hour video? Thank you for an amazing explore ❤

Wow great lighthouse, imagine camping in it overnight, overlooking the water high up, awesome. Hej don't worry about saying 'guys', its your phrase and part of who you are, use it why not, some people are so touchy unbelievable. Love your filming with the drones, keep it up ~ Hi to Lisa xxx thanks for sharing guys!!
Awesome thank you Dale and Lisa, sharing this explore. In nz we use the term ‘guys’ when talking to people. It’s a term used to mean group of ‘people’ in general, nothing to do with just men. Lol. So no offense taken Dale as we use this all the time. 😊👍
The RR is the main engine for the lighthouse there's 3 big fuel tanks and other machines and a big compressor that would have fed a fog horn at some point. Did you happen to notice a cannon anywhere?. The big rusty things are old pontoons 🙂
The seagulls are worried about their nests and/or fledglings. Respect.
Thanks for all the support everyone ! Don’t forget to hit the thumbs up ! See ya soon ❤
Dead jealous m8! So good to see, no vandalism ❤❤
The water is so blue! Thank you for showing us this beauty spot you two and being kind and respectful. Good tubers ❤

Old diesel engines with AC DC generators alternators depending on what they had to power but what a waste they engines are amazing

The stairs in the castle reminds me of York Minster cathedral North Yorkshire as you can climb up to the roof, its scary if someone is coming down

HI DALE. I CANT WAIT TO SEE ANOTHER ONE OF YOUR EXPLORES. WHEN IS ANOTHER ONE COMING UP? LOVE U ❤️
Very soon ! We’re away back to Ireland next week ! So loads more adventures coming for RUclips
Love it Dale❤
What camera are you using for this video, I love the neutrality of the colours and the sharp/softness?
For the cinematic parts I used my iPhone 13 , for the recordings with me speaking I used a go pro 7 😅
Amazing video thank u
Thanks Jane ❤️
Dude love the vids and you screaming I want me mam 😂😂😂😂😂 love it have you done Caldwell house yet
Haha thanks mate , and yea I’ve been there a couple of times now , I love the old ruins
Absolute class
Maybe generators for electricity?
Maybe near gulls nests
So how meny people live on the I land.
Just the two people who greeted us off the boat
The gulls are nesting they are protecting the baby's that's why you get swooped the engine is power station for island
Yea I thought so too , they weren’t happy lol , thanks for watching 💪🏼
To think that they had to ship all that equipment to the island and up the hill
There was a type of Derek crane that they would use when the weather allowed to crane men and equipment up 🙂
wouldn't take that much to get that place sorted out tbh
I live on the mainland not far from there. I think it's time to explore...
Definitely worth it !
Did u find out what the machine water(?) Room actually was?
Yes it was for fuel 😊
The RR is the main engine for the lighthouse there's 3 big fuel tanks and other machines and a big compressor that would have fed a fog horn at some point. Did you happen to notice a cannon anywhere?. The big rusty things are old pontoons 🙂
@@sowennaholyhead6849 ah I did think that's what the big rusty things were pontoons
It would of been bleak in the winter
THE SEAGULLS WOULD PROBABLY BEEN NESTING WITH EGGS AND YOUNG NEARBY HENCE THEM DIVE BOMBING YOU.
Did you get bitten by the bugs
Only a few thousand times by the midgies 😂
You should tuck your jeans into your socks to keep you from getting ticks
No ticks on this island or I would of lol
The seagulls will have chicks
Yes we was quick to pass through and try not to annoy them too much 😅
Hello Dale and Lisa!! What a fantastic video. The view is beautiful. Such a great place to explore! Thanks for sharing.😊❤
