Race representation? Just because they have a Latino in their game they start going crazy acting like we didn’t have a black dude and in mw2019 we were literally in a foreign country (I can’t remember what exact one) with that one female character. The media is weird as hell. This ain’t hate to latin or anything it’s just weird how they’re barely bringing race representation as if cod was never doing that.
It's called virtue signaling. They're never satisfied, and all past efforts are rendered meaningless in light of the newest signal. Strong female characters for example. Apparently, Ellen Ripley, Sarah Connor, Lara Croft, Samus, Ayame, Chun Li, and Princess Leia don't count. Or black superhero movies... Spawn and Blade don't count either. It's fucking stupid.

We are happy and we like him because he is a great character. There is no barrier or collective belief amongst players that good leads have to be of any specific race. Alejandro is a spec ops badass in a game about being a spec ops badass. His story feels fleshed out and solid, and his character development makes you feel attached. When they write characters specifically to BE a brown hero just because they are brown people don't care, because it's bad writing. Now for a spin off where Alejandro and Tu Lam team up to take down North Korea... or whomever.
Just the times we in now. It wouldn’t be a problem if they weren’t doing it just to check a box. I don’t think that was the case here in mwll, but then again, probably 😂😂

nothing to do with COD being a decent game. @@podomuss I think the point most are getting across when they say "it doesn't matter" is not that it doesn't matter but that it shouldn't be the focus. We have seen a lot of characters in modern entertainment that are thrown in just for the sake of "diversity" that ruin a story because their writing is crap. People just want good stories, and if it can represent, then great.
I dont get it. Cod has had protagonists speak Russian, Polish, French, German, and Spanish, with both Reyes and Ramirez being hispanic player characters. Great actor, great character, but not the first hispanic protagonist nor the first to speak a different language for the majority of a game requiring subtitles. And as for the people of color thing, is the actor who plays reboot Gaz suddenly white?
Reboot Gaz is obviously not white, but still represents a British man. The thing is, in order to conform to modern woke standards, they will tell you that Alejandro is the first representation of a different race in CoD. Even though that's both false and irrelevant. Also, a lot of modern non white actors put themselves on the spotlight as representatives of their races and ethnicities, even though that's far from the reason they have their roles.
They don't care because it makes people feel warm and fuzzy inside and they know most people aren't going to think twice about how wrong the statement is. All they care about is the esg score. The entirety of the entertainment industry is infected with this nonsense. Woahhh cod the first franchise to have a mexican guy. 🤯
Yes I’m Latino and I fucking love this dude and I love his skins from MW2 and sometimes use them in WZM. Preach hombre.❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
I hope bro returns in mw4😢
Can’t
Alejandro, one of the best cod characters
Menendez wants to know your location
Unlike most of these people in the lime light I never noticed or cared about who was in a film or video game. More people should be like Morgan Freeman, stop talking about race. Just make good entertainment without pushing politics or race. That is all we want.
That's true, and it's funny too because there's no mexican/latino race. I hate to break it but according to science, not politics he is just a white dude. No one in Europe calls Italians, Romanians, or Spanish people different races. The person making that conclusion here would be laughed at.
Meanwhile, Menendez is punching the air rn😭
"so many players" you can hear his Alejandro Voice very good here😅😅
this is why I love Alain, he's supportive and he is just a flat-out amazing person and I'm glad they chose him to represent a different nationality and language!
I’m Latino but I don’t give a shit about race as long as they put their heart into it I give them applause! But this dude did a AWESOME JOB!
Race representation shouldn't be a factor when casting. This is Larry Finks fault.
Damn Larry Fink for getting a Mexican person to play a character from mexico, that's in Mexican special forces
@@Phantomdudewhat he is saying is that diversity for the sake of diversity can cause story related issues, trying to shoehorn in characters can be a problem, however, if the setting is correct ie mw22, then you have a very well executed story, plus representation for those that care about that sort of thing, I care more about story personally, so I appreciate the setting, and the characters cast for the setting, as for the whole race thing I’m indifferent, I try and stay out of politics, regardless of what side you are on you get fucked over, unfortunately everything seems to have been politicized
I guess people have forgotten about Ramirez and Raul Menendez.
@@Phantomdude,he's not even Mexican he's of Cuban descent and was raised in Florida
listen man no one with a functioning brain cares about these shitty race representation videos they're shallow and pedantic. 0 substance or importance to anything we care about@@Phantomdude
Race doesn’t matter just make a damn game
Facts smfh. This is one of the many reasons gaming is becoming ass these days.
100% COD has always been diverse. These pathetic ass progressive talking points are an embarrassment. It's ridiculous that he went along with it, too.
As a Latino….. FACTS
Seriously bro just because someone is bilingual there all of a sudden there breaking barriers 😂
Yes everyone always needs to be remined for the virtue signaling
His character was great.
Ghost saying a huevo had me dying 😂

Ramirez in OG MW2 "I'm I a joke to you?"
Raul Menendez (one of the greatest villains in COD) "I'm I a joke to you?"
Valdez the Marines leader in OG MW "I'm Im i a joke to you?" 😂😂😂 yea man that's the American media for yah
One of those 100s of reasons why iam Not playing CoD anymore. These politics in games are unnecessary and only proofs me in what direction a Developer is moving. No hate to no nationality but this is Horseshaait. "Need more" if this guy thinks so, so f**k him, No sympathy for those people
@@willbaggiins9441 That's what I was thinking too. This is a weird way of thinking. I didn't give a shit that there's a guy with a mexican accent. I cared more about the idea of the Mexican Special Forces and the Cartels being part of a plot. That was interesting.
For real though, do people not remember Sgt. Vasquez? (I think that's who you were thinking of) Talk about being nothing color-centric that, that's all people see. Then there's Ramirez of course.
Treyarch had representation. Infinity Ward on the other hand (OG MW)……😅
I’m Puerto Rican and it felt nice to have the Latino aspect in the game and for them to expand on Mexico’s special forces and how they deal with the cartel in the cod universe
Have you played bo2?
They showed it in bo2 in the flashback missions
Bros never played the greatest cod game of all time (undebatable) bo2
@@Wangrock_hardJohnson bo1 had a better campaign IMO
Bro Is THE Alejandro😭
That was my favorite character and he was a strong and courageous comrade amongst the modern warfare series. ❤
Why does it feel like actors, producers, and the likw forget the last 20 years of media?
Name me 5 main charecter latinos you can play in video games. DLC doesnt count.
Oh my god it’s just a voice actor all these liberals bro
He is right, but the characters have to be well written and have a purpose in the story or you’d have a vanguard or cod ww2 situation. I’m all for diversity, but don’t confuse it with tokenism.
Right
Never thought I'd say this but I do want an Alejandro game that would be sick
I’ll admit I didn’t finish that campaign, but I did play far enough to meet this guys character! He did a great job, his character stuck out the most to me in my short play through
We are happy and we like him because he is a great character.
I don't fucking CARE about representation. Just make good characters without making race a big deal.
You’re probably a WASP, right? Lol
He's not the first Spanish lead character on Cod but he defo was awesome and a positive representation for Latin race.
He's not "Spanish" he's cuban.. and latino it's not a race. 🙄
Do you think Latinos need a character to be Latino in order to relate to, or enjoy, the character? That idea in and of itself is racist.
Of European descent
Alejandro Vargas 🇲🇽
COD IS A HACKERS PARADISE, stay away, activison even suports them
Who cares if he is the first latino? Tf did they forget other games exist? He is a good actor and that's that.
Why did they leave him out of mw3? He needs to be back.
he will return alot of mw games are in development they are expanding the universe with this new trilogy
Bro o fricking love Alejandro in Cod. And since I'm Mexican I understand what he's saying and it's fricking awesome
ghost no te pierdas carnal GOD
Why is race such a big issue with media in gaming like just let us have fun playing our games
it's not that bro, USA is not the world lmao. That's not how terrorism works fam
Just the times we in now. It wouldn’t be a problem if they weren’t doing it just to check a box. I don’t think that was the case here in mwll, but then again, probably 😂😂
If they made a decent game, with interesting, well written characters, then race representation wouldn't be a thing...
Because the world doesnt revolve around the USA. 😂
There are so many other fascinating countries with rich interesting cultures out there, that race representation actually matters.
nothing to do with COD being a decent game. Bro every war has a shit ton of countries involved, each one with it's own language and culture, what i'm trying to say is that you can make a shitty war game and still have it take place in various countries, languages, etc, due to the nature of these conflicts :)))
Yet another reporter instilling liberal questions where it doesn't belong. The correct answer should've been "representation doesn't affect gameplay, so you have a less propagandized question for me to answer about the game?"
I'm latino and I don't gives a fuck about representation. Who ever plays a character better earn it through skills and not skin. What really matters is for a game to be good, we don't need this identity politics bullshit.
Okay, good for you? Some people still think it's nice even if you don't personally care about it.
@@BlakeH..888_ Alot of latinos have an issue with it due to Hollywood and suits thinking representation is a good thing. Its not and I know alot of people agree with me on this
@@BlakeH..888_Good chance he’s not even Latino or is an incredibly light skinned Latino
@@BlakeH..888_ and those type of people are idiots because representation is literally everywhere and has been for years.

This is how you make a character lovable by fans.
He’s not even Mexican though he’s Puerto Rican. Still did an amazing job, also if you’re gonna make Hispanic characters this is a good way to do it, quit morphing established characters by race swapping them.
My guy Mexican and Puerto Rican are the same Hispanic

@@Wydech06 well they might not have given us Daddy Yankee but they’re still island people, and they gave us Fidel.
I'm Mexican and I don't care. It's about the portrayal of the character. Valeria's VA is Ecuadorian and nobody bitched about her playing a Mexican. Also race swapping would be if Alejandro suddenly became white...not changing the actor...
This guy is SO COOL
LET'S GOOO 🎉💖
Wow, he looks exactly like Alejandro Vargas! Just that accent and Spanish language would be absolutely amazing
Alejandro is is a great character! I like this dude and hope I see him in more things
A better answer would have been “I don’t care because it doesn’t matter.”
First thing came to my mind: Who gives a fuck
@@SirStrugglesAlotpeople like to be represented. It’s easy to say that it doesn’t matter from the perspective of a person who has historically always been represented, but it does matter
It’s evidenced by the fact that there is damn near always enormous outrage when a protagonist isn’t white/straight/male etc.
@@podomuss Okay liberal
@@arclightstudios8379 :)
Yes Call of Duty is diverse even to its early days.
They don't care because it makes people feel warm and fuzzy inside and they know most people aren't going to think twice about how wrong the statement is. All they care about is the esg score. The entirety of the entertainment industry is infected with this nonsense. Every black actor in a movie now is pretending they are breaking barriers for being the first black actor to star in any given specific role. As if anybody cares.
