No test? Is it a reversible drag? Or do you need to pick right handed or wrong handed retrieve? And funny comments about it being “too heavy”. The last thing I care about is if my reel is 6-8 ounces while the wind is blowing 25 knots. I fish Islander reels mostly for salt water applications. This Sage would be a feather compared to those.
Hey Gord, thanks for your comment. Let's start with the your first statement about not testing the reel. The first 10 seconds of the video show Alex catching a redfish on it... so there's that. Your second statement was the only valid statement in your comment. You can indeed change the retrieve with the flip of a clutch. Let's move on to the weight. Your islander LX 3.6 (6.2oz) is almost 3.5oz LIGHTER than the Sage Enforcer 7/8 (9.4oz).
@@tailwaterflyshop But my point was really missed about a few ounces of reel weight making any difference in real world conditions. I watched this video to see a review to help decide if I should consider this reel to go with an R8 salt. And I only info that I can already see on the website.
not much a fan of sage reels ..they look too dull looking.. the big SAGE logo on the side of the reel ruined the design of it should of keep it all ported ..drag is cool one turn
I think it’ll be great for my Spey rod. A little heavier balances that long rod. Kinda nice to be able own the reel without waiting 11 months.

I'd pay 50 bucks more for a tibor.
The weight is too much for me. Gotta be in the 6oz - 8oz range for a 7/8wt.
fair enough
nice reel but too heavy for the competition
Fair enough!
