I got the honor of riding on a 1974 ladder truck at my fire station, it had a NTF 365 and when pulling a hillside it would get real quite and just come to with the valves snapping and the engine growling and the fuel pump chattering, it is an awesome experience riding and operating it
You can joke about putting a hand into a turbo but let me say this Its not a pretty sight when it happens My friend had it happen while adjusting a governor on a Detroit 92 like many other before him Let me say this its about the same as sticking your hand in a garden chipper like another friend of mine had done while trying to clear the output shoot Both of those guy had to learn how to function with out fingertips on their right hands
Not really since: 1. It's a 4 stroke engine, it can aspirate by itself. 2. It's not running loaded. With a load, it would really smoke and bog down because it can't put out the power without the turbo...
the oil pump of hidraulic steerign are not conectected and NO oil......!!!! the pump will dead !!.....did you look that ??? for this first start should be removed before
Trucks and tractors run 24 hours a day in most places. Idling when stopped. So go complain elsewhere with that nonsense. These mechanics were testing an engine they had just rebuilt, so they had to run the engine.
NTA 855 Line were some of the most reliable engines and run great

Looks like he has filled the block with coolant. It's obvious why there's a plug in the cold side of the cooling system by the filters.
own a few 855's small cam big cam some of the best engines ever built Cummins over Cat any day unfortunately had a 3406 too never liked it
A little coolant perhaps and some fingers at 2.50 to make sure the turbo is spinning..........!!!
Wow it really has a nice sound i can here the turbo charger
no radiator, no overheated ?? nice engine!!

Sweet engine
Are there any 903cummins still running.I loved that engine
Look under the bonnet of a MLRS (Multi Launch Rocket System) of the US Army for a start! Also used in the British Army AS 90 SP gun.
Apparently a stupid question, but not having the turbo actually charging the engine doesn't make it difficult for the engine to run properly?
Never mind. I realized how dumb that was after I sent it
