I've watched hundreds, maybe even a thousand or more orchestra videos here on You Tube and I have never seen a cameraman as fixated on a harpist's hands as much as this one. Over a hundred dedicated musicians in this orchestra and about 30% of the video is closeups of the harpist.
The venue adds dimension to the music. Sublime stuff this. Performance is on point and the natural sound is made even sweeter and more ethereal performed in this room. The culture of Old Europe is a gift that keeps on giving!
In my personal opinion, one may drop the adjective 'old' when referring to _that_ Europe - what we have today is nothing but a colony of other races and economies, therefore not Europe at all.
@Jerf Hankell The Catholic Church and its affiliated monastic houses preserved Roman and Classical wisdom for a Europe overrun by warlords. For that you and I should be ever grateful - not to the Christian ideology - but to the men who preserved the Latin. What you call "Islam" is really us importing millions of third world slaves because our birth rates aren't nearly high enough to keep up with the economic demands of the immense technological hubris we're scraping the sky with. Or otherwise put they're the ones who wash our toilets while we slog past midnight on our latest click attracting net solutions. It's the logical endpoint of capitalism - the gods of our age are much more sinister.
Art in itself is far from a reward if there is no benevolence to share it or no peace of mind to appreciate it. The soul comes before the senses - Jesus didnt say it - the Gita says it too.
Listen to this every day and you will never need therapy or anti depressants. Just a box of tissues it is so moving! Kudos to the cameramen for knowing exactly when to cue the featured artists -- especially the harpist, the cute little flautist and of course Maestro Estrada -- his prayerful ending as his orchestra breathes its final notes is absolutely sublime. Thank you to the entire orchestra, Mr. Wagner, and whoever posted this. Pax Vobiscum...
Danke, mein herr. At least, I think that's the right thing to say, hopefully in German. I love this pair like you do. In fact, if I ever her the Vorspiel by itself, I'll wait for the Liebestod, and wait, and wait, ....... They make a truly beautiful pairing.
Great performance in great setting with great engineering to match! So thankful for the sound engineers and of course my fellow musicians Indeed not forgetting the brill camera work here . . . so in touch with the music - never misses a trick.
I've been jonesing on this piece for the last week. Call me crazy, but this is the best reading of it that I've heard (IMHO), even taking into account Klieber, Bernstein, etc.
In recent months, since I first heard the Frankfurt Radio Symphony, I grown more and more impressed with their consistency in performance. I'd love to move to Frankfurt and buy season tickets to their concerts. Alas, they probably wouldn't understand me: I speak 2 languages, English and Brooklyn. Even here, in the States, I have trouble wid dat.
I understand that this is a small part of a much larger musical opera, but I believe this particular song, Liebestod, may just be the best song ever written.
There seems to be a slight discrepancy between the baton of the conductor and the performance of the orchestra. The former might have expected a faster tempo than the latter really took.
Nein! Nein! Nein!
VIelen Dank!
meine Zustimmung! Ja!

No words can describe how sublime this is....
OMG what would I do without music like this so moving.

Eu amo o Richard Wagner.
When I 1st saw this orchestra I thought, how can they play Wagner, but their sound is immense and so beautiful. Bravo!! 👏👏👏👏👏

What kind of music!!!!!! It saved my life on long lonely motorcars in the night several times. Who can fall asleep?
(Google translation, sorry)

What a joy it was to have Maestro Estrada in Houston...to have only heard this composition. Georgiii48 is so right.

14:32 is the moment that always hits me too (the clarinet).
a moment of magic!
I understand that this is a small part of a much larger musical opera, but I believe this particular song, Liebestod, may just be the best song ever written.
Merveilleux magistrale Merci
Absolutely beautiful. Thanks a lot for sharing!!!
Merci
Quel est son instrument???
Cuanta belleza,es emocionante esta composición !
El Amor Real ama incondicionalmente

Clara---was für eine schöne Frau !!!!!
Liebestod 12:32 (l'amore-l'amplesso-l'abbandono).

Good lord. What was Wagner channeling with Liebestod? Just….good lord.
2:19
"Oh yes... the great moment is comming..."
"Quickly! Cut out of the musicians!"
La intonación se fue también ..¿?
SUBLIME TEMPO, IMMORTAL...….
I love Andres' tempo (his Tannhauser Overture is dreamy).
yeah, eternal.
took me 20 years to be up to wagner and verdi...
Hi, Renato!
That’s the monastry Kloster Eberbach near the river Rhein in the Rheingau
❤❤❤
Wagner, un dios que Creo Musica
Perchè nel finale accellera?
2:38
There seems to be a slight discrepancy between the baton of the conductor and the performance of the orchestra. The former

I respect the Orchestra's decision!
The Asian lady at 18:23 LOL
it begs the imagination
The camera work is bizarre.
En ballet es un. Sueño. ⭐⭐💫💫⭐⭐⭐🖐️🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🌈
