FP Moldable Insoles: Best Insoles for Skating?

- Опубликовано: 2 авг 2021
- I bought the Moldable Hi Profile Kingfoam Elite Insoles to protect my feet from heel bruises. Are they better than your average insoles?
Correction: I would recommend only heating at 200F for less than 10 minutes, depending on the power of your oven.

I've been using them for basketball. Really good for hooping, even on concrete* I feel no pain and I'm 31.
Awesome!
I've been waiting to see a review from a hooper to finally decide on buying them. I have jumper's knee and they probably would help me. Thanks!
How is the cushioning of the insoles? Will it help basketball shoes with no cushioning such as Air Jordan 1's if you plan to play with them?
@@emanantonov I'm still using em' and I just insert them in whatever shoe I'm about to hoop in. Feels like you're running on butter lol
@@rampartd.1100 That's good to hear! I'm planning to use my Air Jordan 1 to play ball. Will this help with the non-existent cushioning of the shoe? I really want to play on retro's and I was thinking if I could really play with retro's if I could get rid of the problem of their cushioning setups.
Really appreciate the review as well as directions. Good to know that the insole can be used almost universally for any shoe. It’s also nice that the insoles make the shoe fit more snug as I do prefer a tighter shoe. All of that considered, I might give these moldable insoles a try. I’m pretty healthy and haven’t felt any pain in the feet, knees, or joints despite being almost 30. However, I want to do everything I can to prolong my time on a skateboard.
Their official website is a nightmare to navigate lol
Yeah last time I went to buy shoes I couldn’t even find them on the site. Had to Google search the model and then found a listing from their site that wasn’t accessible from the menus.
Over the last year and a half I had 2 pairs of these for skating and I can say they absolutely do work. Even walking with them is more comfortable and your feet get tired less after walking a while.
The first pair I skated with the eS Accel Slim and the Etnies Barge LS which are both extremely thin shoes that hurt a lot when skating impact so the insoles definitely made those shoes skateable.
The second pair I got I skated in the Etnies Joslin which have thicker soles and didn't need better insoles per se as the shoe itself has good impact protection from the midsole but the Fp's were definitely welcome and made them feel nicer for sure.
Overall I would say if you skate thin vulc shoes like vans or nike janoski, the fp insoles would make a world of difference. If you skate thicker cupsole shoes they will make less difference but will still feel nicer.
i like ur vibe, sub earned
Thanks dude!
Great channel thumbs up
Thanks for watching :)
I love mine (FP insoles in other shoes) and I also skate the FP Intercept (Neen pro model). By far the best shoe I’ve ever used, in every aspect - durability, board feel, flex, impact protection. Out of curiosity I recently tried out my Vans and Etnies shoes to compare but my ankles/knees/legs were real sore after those sessions.
I’m actually here as a contractor. I purchased X and Y insoles and was upgraded to game changers and insole in reference (about 8 months ago).
I was unpleased that I did not receive what I ordered but impressed with the “more costly/higher quality” product (game changers). These insoles beat them all. My work boot felt like a whole new world lol…dead ass. It’s wild.
I originally purchased 2 (2nd being insole in reference) and am excited to use this insole with my new boots.
Thank you for the reference to your heating process. The fact that they do not include it honestly sucks lol
Yeah the directions are on the website. It’s pretty exact I think it’s 235 degrees for 8 minutes. Aaron Kyro also has a video how to.
These make any shoes feel heavenly comfortable
You need to try the Kingfoam orthotic elites
Are they worth it? YES, especially for anyone over age 25 - but actually I would recommend FP shoes instead - they have the tech built into the sole plus they come with good insoles.
I’m on my third pair. I use the game changers. They have become a must have for my shoes.
how long does a pair last?
@@zaridd I get about a year out of pair. What kills them for me is getting them wet. I’m in SoCal so it really only rains a little in the winter and I always mange to get them wet.
What are the grey shorts your homie is wearing?
I've tried the FP socks when I had an incredibly bad shinner, and they definitely stop the board from making them worse from repeated hits.
Was thinking of trying the insoles...this might be the push.
I’m about to buy the insoles again. I was skating the Kingfoam insoles back in 2013 or so. At the time, I think only two insoles existed. I wasn’t trying to bake the insoles, but my brother picked up a pair of the $48 oven bake ones. My pair lasted for around five years of serious skating with use in my beaters for a couple of years after. Had a pair of Remind Insoles for maybe three or four years of skating. They were pretty tanked afterwards. FP is much better for impact and plantar fasciitis. Remind is more of what you’d expect with typical insoles.
I just heard about these on Instagram today; & now I have to get me a pair of these.. I am 53 years old & my knees aren't what they used to be.. lol.. I consider myself pretty active & in the past few years my knees hurt all of the time.. Even when I just go to work.. I would like to know if anyone around my age have used these insoles & what is your experience wearing them?
I also have Plantar fasciitism Guess I will try these since the store bought ones always break and flatten out.
They're worth it
I got back into skateboarding and was doing some bordslides. And I kept landing on the balls of my heels and was getting pretty bad heel pain was walking on my tip toes a day after. This happened at least 5 times then I decided to try theses insoles and now I can bordslide as many times as I want. Even landed primo a few times and felt no pain the next day so in my eyes that's a 100 percent success. Also I used the insoles from the shoe I was putting them in as a templete so they fit perfectly.
That's awesome! I've had the same experience - they are really good at disbursing the weight of heel impact!
What knee sleeve do you use ? Im coming off a meniscus and acl surgery i just need the reassurance cuz rn im being pussy to skate
I'm not sure of the brand, I got it off amazon.
i have them and they realy saved my knees.
Amazing. Happy to hear that. I'm stoked to keep skating them.
Bro i got mines today and immidately when I stood in them my knee stoped hurting hahaha i donno if is it placebo effect or what but my knee doesnt hurt anymore..
If you get a shoe with a thick tongue, they make the shoe feel tighter and your heel will slip out more easily. Overall they’ve been good. I was using Etc Insoles before which isn’t moldable, but still good.
They're not thick enough to make it feel like my heel will slip out.
@@fiore_adriano Cool. I bought mine awhile ago. I might have the thickest ones. I was just on their site. It says there’s 3mm, 5mm and 7mm.
Also, just to clarify, I don’t mean fully slip out. I lace up pretty tight. I just mean slip out partially.
I didn’t have a problem when I used them in the Lakai Sheffield.
Unfortunately, they discontinued that shoe. I’m skating the Lakai Manchester now. The tongue is thicker and the cut might dip a little lower. It definitely depends on the shoe.
@@kwote Yeah for sure! :)
Recently had a fractured 2nd toe , didn’t skate for 2 months thinking about buying these will they help?!
100%. It's really something those FP... I wasn't sure at first but they really are game changer
I have tried over at least 6-7 + pairs BEST INSOLES
I have 3 pair and which I could get a full refund for all 3 . In’s he the moldable ones and they are not worth it . Feet still hurt
I’m a size 11 shoe how do I get some that fit accurately
Same here. I got the biggest ones they have and then trim them down with scissors.
If I dont want to toast them can i boil them instead?
Probably not a good idea. I wouldn't toast them either. Check their website, it's a very low temp in the oven.
do they feel softer after you heat them?
Temporarily yes.
Which ones would you suggest for high arched skaters?
I got the "kingfoam elite" with the arch support and it's really a game changer. I'm 37. My orthopedic insole are great for work and walk but they were no good for skate since they got Zero impact absorption. Those FP are the best compromise and you will not regret it
@@FrancisDGM thank you God replying I'm torn between the FP king foam insole vs Remind brand medic insole.
Cut them in half so we can see the difference inside than other ones
I'll happily cut them if you want to buy me another pair😂. They're not cheap.
Mate, be careful what your saying, 200 Celsius = 392 Fahrenheit 😅
Did I say Celsius? I meant Fahrenheit. 😂
@@fiore_adriano I had visions of some kid in Europe, with a pair of flaming insoles melted to the bottom of his oven 😂
I put mine in at 200 Celsius due to this and they melted after 5min, of course... Not joking... As you said, there is no intructions and have to rely on RUclips videos tips. Asking if they can send me a new pair with official instructions... Wish me luck
I suggest you edit that part of the video...
@@fiore_adriano see above
you can use them with Half Cabs with non-removable insoles?
I didn't know they made Half Cabs without removable insoles?
@@fiore_adriano ya know the non-pro half cabs, the insoles are glued to the shoe. Are yours the pro version?
@@nixcanpor810 I have the Skate Half Cabs - the new Pros essentially. They have a removable insole.
I've put insoles into the non-pro half cabs before, but I bought them a half size bigger to do so. It will make the shoe feel a little high though. What I have also done is bought them at my regular size, then pulled the glued-in insole out and replaced it with a better one. But taking it out is a little tricky. I had to scrape the bits that got stuck off with a butter knife.
@@lipscantgo yeah you gotta scrape it out and peel
100 degrees Fahrenheit?? Bruh the website says 250 degrees Fahrenheit. 200 degrees Celsius is gonna melt this.....be careful saying these measurements because this isn't what the directions say online.
how much do they cost?
About $25 USD depending which model you get
