  • The Jeep Renegade Trailhawk lives up to Jeep's proud offroad heritage with superb off-road capability that surprises even experienced off-roaders. It is also distinctively stylish, safe and functional. If that's what you want and the pricetag doesn't bother you, then take a closer look but also be aware that this vehicle is not near the top oft he class for on-road dynamics or driving enjoyment. For all those who come to this video and start talking shit about the jeep renegade: It's the most off road capable vehicle in it's class. Yes, it is based on the Fiat 500X platform but It's 100 times as capable off road. I wanna see the Fiat do the things that this little jeep does - or any other car in this segment. It doesn't rock crawl like a modified wrangler does, but come on you've got to give this car a little credit. Besides it's designed for people who want to do light off roading (like maybe going camping in the woods) but also drive this thing every day. A rock crawler can't even hit 50mph and drains a shit load of gas.

      Okay, I'll give it credit. It'll out-wheel my 2015 Dodge Challenger.

      Annoyingly it is nearly perfect for what most people need, I know people who have paid 50% more for a Peugeot “4x4” that’s front wheel drive and has a 1.2litre engine

    I agree with who says that this is the best car im its segment.. they are totally right. I can't believe how ppl just want to point the things this motor is not built for although it still can do some degree of it. The argument that this is based on a fiat doesn't make sense. Jeep does that because they collaborated with them ( it so that they can focus on other thing and not waste time designing chassis ) and got nothing to do with its capabilities and segment. Ppl need to look at what it's intended to do and whether or not it does period..

    In Europe "Jeep Renegade Trailhawk" have diesel engine and nine-speed automatic gearbox ! 2.0 MJET 170hp TRAILHAWK ,9AT / 4x4 LOW. This is a 2.0 liter Fiat turbo diesel engine ! This is probably a pretty good version! Not Trailhawk version has also a 2.0 Fiat diesel engine, but 140hj! It probably will not move so well as Trailhawk 2,0 / 170 hj versioon. Obviously it depends on the Differential gear ratios .Trailhawk version has a higher ground clearance than a just renegade! And the price is good!

    I'm amazed at how well those cross climate tires did.
    Please somebody take an old Wrangler without a lift and open differentials and put it against this renegade and watch the Renegade destroy it. ...
    Do a roller test against like a 1995 Wrangler. Renegade will obliterate it.

    To get the renegade to drive like this do you press and hold the traction control button to disable the stability control system?

      You put it in 4 lock for power to go to all 4 tires. Downhill use 4 lock and hill decent assist. Just two buttons.

    What is HDC ?

    • @konstantinostsounis6070
      @konstantinostsounis6070 4 года назад

      Hill Descent Control. Is used in condition like the one you saw.. You just take your legs off the brakes...
      Hill descent control (HDC, or hill mode descent control) is a driver-assistance system. It allows a controlled hill descent in rough terrain without any brake input from the driver.

    with out lockers you only have two wheel drive

    • @KAREKINFPV
      @KAREKINFPV 8 лет назад +2

      BLD, it's the way of the future. It can actually stop any 3 wheels and send power to the 1 remaining with traction.

    • @howardwmoore
      @howardwmoore 8 лет назад +3

      BLD is fine for the pavement but off road it can cause excessive wear on the brakes and overheat them. Off road selectable lockers rule

    • @KAREKINFPV
      @KAREKINFPV 8 лет назад +1

      Howard Moore I'll have to look into "selectable lockers". Break rotors and pads, are really not that expensive, and for the on-road manners you get it's a fine trade off to me. I just took my lifted renegade up 4's this past weekend on street tires. The BLD on the renegade is like NO OTHER bld, i think if more people experienced what it can do opinions would start to change. Anyone i go with is always speechless when they see what it'll make it through.

    • @howardwmoore
      @howardwmoore 8 лет назад

      i do understand the benefits of ABL for th street I actually had it on my tractor trailer and my daughter has it on her subaru " ABLS is a "seamless" electronic answer for low traction situations, but not "no" traction situations." I agree with you that for a vehicle primary intended for street use abls is probably the better answer for the predictable road manner and that its seamless and that it work in conjunction with stability controls however in offroad conditions where there is little to no traction it can rob the vehicle of some power as it uses the brakes to slow the spinning tires to allow the tractive tire to pull rather than locking the axes There are many different type of selective lockers some are air activated some are electronic and some mechanically the Rubicon has e lockers but they only work in 4 low and under 10 mph i
