Fateful test run for 70000 Britannia 16/05/24
First run out after repairs, Britannia is first seen just outside Crewe with a full train (Support coach, ScotRail MK3s and 47) running on time just after 10.30AM.
Shot 1 - Sunnybank Road, Crewe.
Shot 2 - Wollacott, Shrewsbury.
After an hours unscheduled stop at Chester and another 45mins lost at Wrexham, Britannia appears North of Shrewsbury having lost much of the train bar it’s support coach.
We called it a day after that and just as well as it turns out as the Brit lost another 100 minutes or so at Shrewsbury so we can only assume much fettling was occurring at each stop and the repairs aren’t quite sorted yet?
