I love how the song almost sounds like extrem metal at the beginning. The riff is not really a melody but more like pounding on your earholes. Akane's double bass thunder, Saiki's deep vocals in the beginning and the twitching noises Kanami makes on her guitar, these details make this a pretty scary song.
Kanami just asked Akane how fast she can hit the bass drum and said 170-180bpm. Then Kanami gave her the demo for this song at 190bpm. Thats what i like about them they inspire each other to do better and it really reflects on their music. 💙

Whatever god given accident brought these girls together you have to acknowledge that musically they are unmatched. Even Cream with three master musicians never created this much energy on stage and Kanami's composing reaches new heights every time. I am a very old guy who has not enjoyed this lockdown business at all, yet Band Maid make the day enjoyable.
Band-Maid has to legitimately be in the conversation when talking about top tier bands. And we're not talking about albums sold/ money made. Talking about the quality of the music, musicianship, class, and stage presence, all rolled into one band.
The thing with those bands with huge combined talents, they were often plagued with egos and abuses that eventually burned them out; that or sitting on their ass after initial success. Here we have “abuse” of smiles and silly goofy moments while they work hard at improving their skills individually and as a group. I had given up on hard rock / metal in the late 80’s because it was turning into a challenge of xcess, from Californian hair metal to Scandinavian death metal. Now I’m back. The only thing that can play against BM from achieving international success is the language barrier. Rammstein broke that barrier with the help of a cult movie soundtrack. Let’s hope Netflix’ Kate will do the same for Band Maid.
@@MauriceTituer The prefect example of Band Maid's lack of ego was seeing them kneel down so that the audience could see Akane for her solo as there was no plinth for the drummer. I have never seen that on stage anywhere and it was done with such grace.
@@DMiyash248 As a hobbyist drummer that has always had an oversized kit I've concluded it makes you sloppy and lazy. When you don't have that second floor tom or 4th rack tom you have to think more how you are going to finish filling the space before you start your fill. I had actually been looking at pulling toms off my kit before I found Akane. Since then I've been doing nothing but trying to practice double pedals. I've had a good set forever, but hardly ever used them. Now its all I use.

I went to BAND-MAID LIVE in NAGOYA JAPAN.2020/1/10 The reincarnation was, of course, performed. The venue was unusually exciting. Akane's new year greeting was "I am a gorilla." AKANE asked the fans at the venue to call "Gori, Gori, Moe, Moe." We had a very happy time.

BAND-MAID is not a good girl group. BAND-MAID is an absolutely amazing band. They are just amazing. Thats it. No need to compare to anyone else, they stand completely alone. I'm glad you enjoy them as well! This group was with me in a very dark part of my life. Since my life tends to be quite dark very often, they will be with me forever. They are one of those bands that stand the test of time for me.

There are very many Band-Maid fans that have come to the same conclusion. Many people try to compare Band-Maid to a lot of other bands, but that excersise is futile cause there is no one like them, and there never was either. Band-Maid mixes many styles into their base hardrock style, and often many styles in the one and same song. They are amazing in that sense. Because of that every new song feel fresh and new.
I love how Misa's bass and Miku's Guitar thread each other during the stanzas, accented by Kanami's high end pitch and Saiki's vocals as Akani machines the foundation. Musical tapestry done right.

Live performances of this song are significantly more engaging than studio recordings. I experienced this at the concert on 25 August. The girls have been improving and revising their technique to make the sound more attractive through the audience reaction and performance experience at the concert. I have nothing but praise for their excellent efforts.
Watched this for first time in a long time, and before it "Blooming" for the first time in a few days - and I can't express how much I am looking forward to hearing them play live again - all the new music they've put out in the past 3 years and, of course, a couple of B-M classics would be OK too! And from the streams, and reports like yours, it's clear they're 3x as good as 3 years ago, which for Band-Maid, is saying a lot.

@@DMiyash248 As a hobbyist drummer that has always had an oversized kit I've concluded it makes you sloppy and lazy. When you don't have that second floor tom or 4th rack tom you have to think more how you are going to finish filling the space before you start your fill. I had actually been looking at pulling toms off my kit before I found Akane. Since then I've been doing nothing but trying to practice double pedals. I've had a good set forever, but hardly ever used them. Now its all I use.

TIL that there's an entire movement of all-girlboss metal bands from Japan that probably see Babymetal as the Metallica of their genre, and I'm so here for it. This shit is awesome and I'm so new to it, can't wait to explore. These ladies rock harder than anything I've seen stateside in forever.

I won't take credit for this statement but it rings so true. "Band-Maid does not belong to a musical genre, Band-Maid IS a genre."
There are very many Band-Maid fans that have come to the same conclusion. Many people try to compare Band-Maid to a lot of other bands, but that excersise is futile cause there is no one like them, and there never was either. Band-Maid mixes many styles into their base hardrock style, and often many styles in the one and same song. They are amazing in that sense. Because of that every new song feel fresh and new.
Band-Maid is a perfectly constituted band. The best bands are indescribable; Band-Maid is one of those.

I just read a comment which says that 輪廻 was commissioned as a song for some movie. Is it true? It was stated that the movie is about a serial killer who was filming his murders on an 8mm film, to watch it all later.

I've just been doing some research.
Rinne is a 2005 Japanese horror movie. Part of its plot was an old film of a massacre that the killer made in attempt to better understand reincarnation. There is a lot more to the story but the MV is based on this 8mm murder video theme.

It would be interesting to know the situation. It may be that Miku simply watched this movie, and composed the lyrics for the song based on the impression she got. We know that she often draws inspiration from movies, manga, anime, etc.

I have nothing but praise for their excellent efforts.
Watched this for first time in a long time, and before it "Blooming" for the first time in a few days - and I can't express how much I am looking forward to hearing them play live again - all the new music they've put out in the past 3 years and, of course, a couple of B-M classics would be OK too! And from the streams, and reports like yours, it's clear they're 3x as good as 3 years ago, which for Band-Maid, is saying a lot.
