Yes, that popcorn bucket is phenomenal! Reasonably priced, IMO, as well. That would be an awesome Disneyland/DCA design too! I’m jealous - but incredibly happy that you got one! Maybe someday….😊
30:55 "Sui sui" is just the onomatopoeia for swimming :) To me, it gives the same vibes as "swish swish." It's also generally used to describe something that's smooth sailing (i.e. カリブの列をすいすい進んだよ! 'we went through the queue for Pirates swimmingly!')
Regarding cast members, I don't think I got spoken English to very often throughout my time at TDR/Tokyo in general though I do speak/understand quite a bit of Japanese. I think the only time there was more English was when we had to return something and we tried our best to use Japanese and English with the manager as the CM wasn't too sure about how to do returns (TDR does do returns unlike most stores in Japan). I heard some CM's say queue numbers and maybe one or two words here and there in a bit of English to what they assumed were overseas tourists and that's about it.
I’m loving the sunscreen reviews and biore cool wipes recommendations!! Everyone visiting Japan should know of these amazing products! I use all these haha 😂
I love rain days, I purposely book on rain days, as the lines are so short for rides and in some areas of the park you can get great photos where it looks like you have the whole park to yourself 😍🌧☔
OMG I just realised I was here on the same day hahahah I saw Stitch and Angel on the balcony, and thought "was that the same day I was there?!" Yep sure enough, I can see myself on the opposite side of the Nightfall Glow parade, in all black, very tall person at the front wearing the Sui Sui mermaid blue ears 🤣
Thank you for all of your helpful videos. I was there Monday - Thursday of the week that you filmed this. We had Peter Pan go down when we had some standby passes that we grabbed on a whim which let us ride Frozen for a second time. Those Experience Passes are a great thing. The two Get Soaked rides and the Baymax parade were welcome ways to cool off. Splash definitely felt like there were was water spraying sideways that was more than just the regular splash as you reached the bottom. The Baymax parade was a lot of fun. We did that on both of our DL days. I’m thinking that returning once the new Space Mountain has been completed is a good time frame for my returning to the park. I don’t know if you do the souvenir medallions at all, but there’s one for Space Mountain to go along with the sticker. I wasn’t prepared for the popcorn. I thought it would be something that’s available all day, but most of the carts that we passed on our trip were closed. (Maybe sold out and closed.) I picked up that new postcard set, but didn’t see the giant postcard. I definitely would have grabbed that as well. I did grab those logo hand towels on sale as well.
Thanks Chris for another great video! I am adding notes to my Japan journal for my January trip. You are the only channel that I have actually watched all of the content on because it is also informative.
Thank you! I try to do a balance of being entertaining while giving useful information. All the stuff I wish I knew when I first visited so many years ago.
I love that map merch series so much! I was there recently and picked up a whole bunch of stuff from that, I plan on framing and displaying the postcards. That A4 sized postcard is insane. 😂❤
Love that popcorn bucket! The food looks really good! Love your video! I’m learning so much about Disney Tokyo! Hopefully will be going in a year! Will definitely be getting your books.
I love your videos so much! They make me reminisce on my time living in Japan. The Winnie the Pooh ride is one of the best rides at Tokyo Disney! I miss it!
That map shirt is great! I went to TDR last year and regret not buying a few things. Im going to Disneyland Paris for the first time this year and have vowed to buy what I like and not worry about getting too much! 😊
I appreciate all your extremely detailed, helpful info! We are heading over there in August so it’s nice to have a bit of a grasp on what to expect in advance.
Oh my alot of new merch.. I love the new merch design.. I hope it still available next year. Anyway is this film in July? Coz I was thinking to visit Japan either May or July next year..
i never have enought Disneyland Videos from you and I can't wait for the time, you will stay at the Fantasy Springs Hotel Video. I have a book at the middle of October and fooking forward of it already. Greetings from Tokyo
@@tdrexplorer oh nooo, I was hoping you got it. To be honest, I was soooo lucky. Since the time I got the Hotel reservation, I try it often again, because I wanted see the prices from the Spring side rooms, but never ever I could do it again… it is soooo difficult to get it. I wish you best luck for getting very soon a room. I cross all fingers for you 💕 I need your hotel videos hihi it’s so relaxing to watch
It's such a shame that Space Mountain is closed for reno until 2027. I missed out in May this year because the line was too long and fast pass wasn't available for it. Pooh's honey hunt and thunder mountain were also closed. Maybe some other time (well into the future haha, will go to DisneySea next year instead). Didn't know about the Big Pop store! Totally missed it. Hope there's a similar store in DisneySea, although the Demon Slayer popcorn buckets from Universal Studios is more a priority for me and my limited luggage space!
Real talk: Either ship them home from the Post Office, bring an extra suitcase, or fill them up with clothes (socks, etc) to save on space. I've seen it all hahah
Love that video as always! 😊 I just wanted to ask, if they use filtered water for the shaved ice and slushies in Japan? Or if they use pure tap water with chlorine in it. I remember, when I was in the US, I had an ice slushy and totally forgot, that they used tap water for that. So I spent a lot of time exploring the toilets in Disney World. We don't use chlorine in our water here, so we're not used to that. 😅
Im usually a XL shirt size in the US because my chest and I dont like tight clothes So it worries me I wouldnt be able to find anything that fits me in their merch stores.
Sad that they moved Halloween back. Booked my trip to see Tokyo Disney durning Halloween based off last years dates and now I’m going to miss it by 3 days. Will most of the Halloween stuff be set up early?
Yeah, we had no idea the event would be pushed back so far. Hard to say what they'll do with Halloween decorations this year. I'll have to see when the time comes (I don't have a definitive answer)
I was at Tokyo Disneyland in 2005 and remember the Winnie the Pooh ride to be in English. !!!!! Is that possible? I had never ridden any other Pooh ride. The few times we made it to Disney World, the Pooh ride was closed for refurbishment.
I'm looking at all the merch and doing mental calculations. How much in pounds, will it be there in Nov, how can I buy everything and fit it all in my suitcase? I'm going to thrive and suffer in these shops 🤣
I always tell people to bring a foldable duffle bag you can use as a carry-on or buy the big shopping bags I've shown in past videos as they work well for carry-on.
I just checked. The popcorn information is also available in the English version of the website. Just click on the restaurant tab for each park and there is a link to the popcorn page in English.
Perfect! This must be, relatively, recent since it was only in Japanese for the longest time. This makes things so much easier for visitors. Thank you for the heads up.
Hello Chris, It is my birthday soon and we are going to Disneysea but me and my mum want to change it to Disneyland as it has more nostalgic rides and what we think better rides can we change the tickets? I hope you reply to this comment soon. Thank you.
If you bought through the app then you can chance the ticket, it's just cumbersome. You can check the TDR FAQ on how to do it faq.tokyodisneyresort.jp/tdr/en/faq_list.html?page=&category=10628
I can't find the lined neck cooler ring online anywhere. I prefer not to have the plastic directly on my neck if possible. Any chance of you providing a link to share with us? I'm in Ontario Canada.
It's an option but you'll be fine not knowing Japanese to order (not all restaurants have mobile order). You can point at the menus and as long as you keep things simple, you'll be fine.
I can't get over how good the design of that popcorn bucket is!
Yes, that popcorn bucket is phenomenal! Reasonably priced, IMO, as well. That would be an awesome Disneyland/DCA design too! I’m jealous - but incredibly happy that you got one! Maybe someday….😊
I want one!!! 😢
you should do a video showing us your Disney souvenir collection so far! All your popcorn buckets and stuff as well
Good suggestion!

I’ll forever be fascinated by the amount of English that’s spoken in Japanese theme parks.
Signage, announcements, and some songs usually are in English but don't expect all Cast Members to speak English (or other languages).
Regarding cast members, I don't think I got spoken English to very often throughout my time at TDR/Tokyo in general though I do speak/understand quite a bit of Japanese. The Baymax cannons are strong. I was a good 200 ft away thinking I was safe from the water and still nearly got drenched.
Those canons are no joke!
Hahaha I sympathise with the trying not to spend money noises Chris. You did well to contain yourself
The amount of stuff I PUT BACK cause I didn't need it all hahah
It's not fair Tokyo has the best merch and popcorn buckets 🥺☹️

This new popcorn bucket is so good!
“Why don’t they have this in adult sizes?” ;). How often I’ve said that! Of course, everything looks cute in tiny sizes. The merch is amazing.
God seriously! Just browsing websites I’m in tears by how cute the kid options are, also jealous! Because kid clothes these days are so cute!!
Some of the designs are so cute with the patterns and i want to wear it haha

It's so whimsical, I love it!
That Space Mountain concept art will probably be almost completely accurate with Japan's great track record unlike *cough* Epcot *cough*

How does a person fit minimum 5 popcorn buckets in their luggage home in addition to everything else I will want to buy?

@8:53 How do they get the egg to look like that?
I doubt in Japan they’d take years to build a new sitting area. Just for it to look like a college campus. Like Epcot.
53:23 wouldn’t yuzu salt basically be like lemon salt only slightly more sour? Or am I mistaken in about the flavor of yuzu?
