My reasons: 1. First multiplayer map of any Halo game I have ever played was Blood Gulch on CE so it's very nostalgic 2. Red vs Blue 3. Really beautiful map even though it may seem very simple.

You missed out on so much... - Getting outside the map - Playing custom games like cat and mouse - The wraith/tank boost where it launches your ghost/warthog across the entire map - Sword cancelling glitch with a friend to fly across the map - The hidden secrets you could do to capture bombs/flags in the bases - Super jumps etc It was a good map because it had endless possibilities

Guardian is easy: It's basicaly a Quake map, and emulates that tight, speedy constantly moving gameplay style almost perfectly. If it's not quite as fast, that's compensated for by the fact most players are using controllers.
Guardian was amazing! I still remember the time I played Odd Ball on Guardian in the FFA Lone Wolf playlist and won against lvl 50's without dropping the ball once. I wish 343I could actually make a good Halo with good map's but we all know that won't especially with REQ packs still being a thing. Why bother making a good maps when they already have your money.

I downloaded Custom Edition some months ago and I was surprised seeing an impressive list of servers and lots of players (not sure if some of them were bots) keeping this legendary game still running, so many memories came from my young years coming from school just to hang with the "clan" :') Blood Gulch is AWESOME!
that map was so good because it was so evenly balanced. no one side had an advantage over the other. they may have had different paths but you still had to defend from all sides and anticipate where the enemies were. defence while playing offence at the same time. its perfection.especially the one on reach.
I don't think they've necessarily fallen. Once they've made four Destiny games, they'll be able to move on to something else with a different publisher.
Ah, good old Blood Gulch. A lot of my childhood was spent in that map and Sidewinder. Both of those maps were and still are absolutely works of art in design.

halo CE had some of the funnest gameplay ever. Rather or not it was a match on extinction, or an RP server, or even that amazing halo reach inspired map hugeass, i loved it to death. I wish the servers didn't die like they did, i know they're back due to a patch but its not the same anymore :/
Hang em high was our "official" LAN party challenge map. Many a beer had been thrown at the screen on this map! I recall carrying tv's, xboxes & Ethernet cables to a friends apartment, yelling at them in the next room. Good times.
So many Halo maps have left a great impression on me. I really loved Sidewinder and Boarding Action, and we always wanted to play Damnation too. Sick game.

I have never played a Halo game in my life. I haven't even touched an Xbox controller before. But because of the guys at Roosterteeth, I was able to watch this video and receive a similar wave of nostalgia like most here. Red vs Blue made up a good chunk of my life, and it is such a fond memory that it makes me smile and love this video. Thank you gameranx, and good work on the video.
Blood Gulch will forever be my favorite FPS map. I remember coming home with an Xbox and playing Halo multiplayer with my two kid brothers. It's the most fun we ever had as siblings.
Sidewinder and Hang em High were also classic maps I played with my friends. Putting on unlimited grenades and "artillery striking" in hang em high was a blast
Best memory of this map is someone downloading it onto the server in a specific classroom at my high school. We had a sub one day and someone found the file and everyone ended up playing for the entire class. Impromptu LAN party ended up being the best class that year.
Because of blood gultch I still have 16 player LAN parties with my family occasionally to this day and will continue forever until my Xbox crystal blows up XD

Nuke town, a map with 2 buildings and is the smallest map ever in a call duty game. The most beloved map in call of duty. It was included in 3 different games. Fans simply couldn't get enough and I honestly wouldn't be suprised if the next cod launched with it. People don't have a problem with simple map design. It's just that simple map design doesn't fit into all games or all areas of play.
Hakeem Lawus shipment in cod4 was smaller. Basic, balanced design is what real gamers want. Throw in a tight map to ensure chaos and it’s guaranteed to be fun.
cody h It just lost popularity that tends to happen to these older game franchises. The older they get the higher exceptions get and that often proves too difficult for the game developers.
PROgaming once you take out split screen, firefight and a few game modes that made Halo it just becomes another FPS that’s not really what the game was built on. I don’t want halo just for the campaign. That’s never just the appeal with games like this.
Nathan Mckinney Yeah I also hated the fact split screen was removed in halo 5. That's what got me in to halo in the first place. But that's what I'm saying the developers had to keep up with industry standards and right now if a game had the graphics of the original it would be a instant failure. Performance all the same. Its these standard plaguing the industry. And that's what's killing off these classics. If fans gave developers more freedom to express them self in their creation we would have a lot less games evolving into something their not. And I get these games are developed by giant studios but if game development wasn't such a hit or miss creativity would become a big influence again.
At my high school we all shared this Halo demo on google drive that had a few maps but you could still play online and over the schools LAN. We had tournaments and it was awesome. This map was the best. The one that's just a square gray room with platforms and stuff was pretty cool as well.
My and my buddies used to be all about some Complex in Goldeneye on the N64. Remember that one? All the hidden doors and the nooks behind the vents where you could camp and wait for someone to walk by, then just pop out and shoot them in the face. Friggin' hilarious. Falcon knows what I'm talking about.

I have never played a Halo game in my life. I haven't even touched an Xbox controller before. But because of the guys at Roosterteeth, I was able to watch this video and receive a similar wave of nostalgia like most here. Red vs Blue made up a good chunk of my life, and it is such a fond memory that it makes me smile and love this video. Thank you gameranx, and good work on the video.
Blood Gulch will forever be my favorite FPS map.

Sidewinder and Hang em High were also classic maps I played with my friends. Putting on unlimited grenades and "artillery striking" in hang em high was a blast

Best memory of this map is someone downloading it onto the server in a specific classroom at my high school. We had a sub one day and someone found the file and everyone ended up playing for the entire class. Impromptu LAN party ended up being the best class that year.
I remember passing around a usb with Halo:CE on it and playing it with my friends at our library, fookin great times
Because of blood gultch I still have 16 player LAN parties with my family occasionally to this day and will continue forever until my Xbox crystal blows up XD

Sidewinder in the original Halo was amazing, especially when you picked up the camouflage and had a sniper. And the original Facing Worlds on Unreal Tournament. 2 of the best first person shooters ever created.

Nuke town, a map with 2 buildings and is the smallest map ever in a call duty game.
The most beloved map in call of duty. It was included in 3 different games. Fans simply couldn't get enough and I honestly wouldn't be suprised if the next cod launched with it.
People don't have a problem with simple map design. It's just that simple map design doesn't fit into all games or all areas of play.
Hakeem Lawus shipment in cod4 was smaller. Basic, balanced design is what real gamers want. Throw in a tight map to ensure chaos and it’s guaranteed to be fun.

cody h It just lost popularity that tends to happen to these older game franchises. The older they get the higher exceptions get and that often proves too difficult for the game developers.
PROgaming once you take out split screen, firefight and a few game modes that made Halo it just becomes another FPS that’s not really what the game was built on. I don’t want halo just for the campaign. That’s never just the appeal with games like this.
Nathan Mckinney Yeah I also hated the fact split screen was removed in halo 5. That's what got me in to halo in the first place. But that's what I'm saying the developers had to keep up with industry standards and right now if a game had the graphics of the original it would be a instant failure. Performance all the same. Its these standard plaguing the industry. And that's what's killing off these classics. If fans gave developers more freedom to express them self in their creation we would have a lot less games evolving into something their not. And I get these games are developed by giant studios but if game development wasn't such a hit or miss creativity would become a big influence again.
At my high school we all shared this Halo demo on google drive that had a few maps but you could still play online and over the schools LAN. We had tournaments and it was awesome. This map was the best. The one that's just a square gray room with platforms and stuff was pretty cool as well.

My and my buddies used to be all about some Complex in Goldeneye on the N64. Remember that one? All the hidden doors and the nooks behind the vents where you could camp and wait for someone to walk by, then just pop out and shoot them in the face. Friggin' hilarious. Falcon knows what I'm talking about.
