What an absolute treasure. Just came back from Ireland and Carrownagappul Bog was on my list to see. It did not disappoint. The trails and boardwalk out to the bog were wonderful. Lucky for me that the girl in Mountbellow gas station knew where to direct us. There was no signage. The postman did not even know where it was. The carbon sink of a lifetime. Thank you SAC, loved it.
Great amenity for Mountbellew! Much needed and great education tool for people to learn about the importance of the bogs. It would be great to see other bogs protected and restored (where possible).
Beautiful, gorgeous, enlightening, brilliant... you kept it simple but the rare species, e.g. large heath butterfly, are shown for those who might recognise them. Loved it, but still waiting for BirdWatch Ireland to take action on many, many fronts. A video like this may help, or help a little, but it won't push anything over the line. BirdWatch Ireland needs to use every thing it's got to achieve real change. (Harness the public through social media, to help move things into public consciousness.)
Beautifully captured well done Bird Watch Ireland. Such a precious resource .. it’s great it’s being protected. And a great amenity for those in the Mountbellew area ... I can’t wait to walk there when home next.
This is amazing! Well done to everyone involved in this. This is exactly the kind of good news we need at the moment. Here's hoping for lots more of this in the future 😍😍😍

Born an reared in Mt. Bellew. Didn't realized we had that beauty around us. Fantastic photography of wild species. Maura.
