The place has changed a lot since I left in 1990. Bunch of new science and class room buildings in addition to new sports facilities. Lots of upgrades to the older buildings. Penn State is one of the top ranked colleges on many lists. Check them out.
I went there to walk around and look at the campus while i was in Pen. racing, and the creamery line was literally the longest line I ever seen in my life. There are also so many bunnies on the campus ^.^
I do hope that my daughtet can pursue her post gradute in Public Health next year 2018. Now, she is almost done with her under graduate study. I love Penn State
i really want to go here. im going to be a junior in highschool in september and this is the time you start looking at colleges and start visiting them, and this is one of the ones i want to visit.
Thats overall for the university. They have more than 1 campus, they have 19 commonwealth campuses, which are easier to get into. Main Campus is very hard to get in to, but none of the others aren't really at all.
You can the see stats online. It's not as diverse as Temple, for example, but Pennsylvania isn't as diverse as D.C., Georgia or California. However, you won't find a top ranked college in a better college town anywhere. Penn State is a family. The saying, "We are Penn State"... comes from the SMU not wanting to play us in 1948 because we had black players. The team told SMU we are Penn State, we play all or none. In 1946 Penn State canceled a game with Miami instead of sitting two players.
Its a huge university. Also a state school. Its not an absurd percentage.However Penn state has programs that is no different than any elite colleges. Except the very high rated ones
55% acceptance rate? Not to say Penn State is Harvard or Yale or something, but 55% is still fairly competitive. Besides, Penn State's still a great school ;D
I got into Penn state Berks. id love to go to penn state but i think Kutztown is a better fit. Penn state berks or University park doesnt have criminal justice.
If My S.A.T score was 2380, however my grades are all all c- avg, do you think that Penn state would accept me? I still got senior year to fix things up...
im an international student, would my IGCSE grades have any significance if i did good in them ...i need some help...already applied but still have to send in the requirement via mail
@acidmatar sorry, i've got no help and this is a bit late :L but i'm exactly like you, i still have a couple of years left of secondary school and sixth form but, i'm not sure how GCSE's compare to grades over there. Apparently its harder to get in if your an international student :/
@MrJoeCool96 Well if your ACT score is proportional to your GPA (which is really nice), you'd be fine here. Do some extracurricular stuff like volunteering to dress up your app a bit. Good luck in life, kid.
What do you mean diverse? There are black students, white, Indian, Asian, Latino, people from all over the world. What do you want, statistics? What is that going to change? You are there to study. I am black and have an AA and BS from Penn State. I had zero issues.

I graduated penn state and I love that place I grew up there but I did live in Nc for three years

Still more selective than many solid public schools on their main campus including UConn, Rutgers, IU-Bloomington. On par with UT-Austin.

It's mentioned that Old Main is one of the most haunted places on a U.S. college campus. I felt a lot of spirit, but never saw a ghost.
